  1. I thought Rose has been pretty overrated over the last couple of seasons, actually. He may have been the force behind the Bulls' offense last year, but they won the majority of their games due to Thibodeau and their defensive scheme. Didn't really care for his playoff run last year, either, although he was injured. Most definitely a superstar, though (and I separate my superstars from all-stars, two different things), but I've always liked Durant over Rose, and I think last year's MVP was Dwight.
  2. You have to wonder if this is all due to conflict created by the Manning/Luck situation. The truth is, heading into the draft and next season, the Colts have a major decision to make on BOTH Manning and Luck (if they should select him, looks like they will...and what to do with Peyton at that point), and this could make or break the franchise for years, so I'm not surprised to see people getting tossed aside.
  3. Yeah, that's more than likely the case...just putting a price out there, though. Pierce is in the same boat as Kobe, Duncan and Dirk, really.
  4. He's at 46% having a tear in his shooting hand, since the preseason, so I'm not too concerned with that.
  5. Hard to say...it really depends on the team, because some will want a veteran champion like Pierce, to get them over the hump and into the pile of contenders. However, with the new CBA's harsh luxury tax penalties (after next season), I'm sure the big expiring contracts will be a huge deal (Ray, and especially Garnett's $21 million). I wouldn't be surprised if they get a bit more attention than usual in March (before the deadline). If you can trade for Garnett, and have $21 million coming off the books for next season, yet have a guy that may be able to help you win a championship...well, I don't see why a lot of teams would pass on that.

  13. We've had 3-4 contests, total, since we put the board back up in 2009, and I think people just got tired of doing it. Two contests ago, there were plenty signing up (the contest that Nitro won).
  14. This has always hit me in the face as odd. Even when GM's were saying that the Lakers were winning it all (not being biased here)...I don't see why GM's would take the Heat, even if they DID truly think that, unless they feel like the pressure is a good thing (well, bad for the Heat). I don't get that.
  15. I'll delete my initial response, because Check My Stats said that Drew was an all-star. When you guys say that it's not close, it just makes it sound like you're saying that Drew is more on the level of Jermaine O'Neal. Anyway...I'll post what I did over at TLN.
  16. Right, but I was making the comparison between the undefeated Pats and the "should have been undefeated" Packers (Chefs were lucky), and how I figured this game would end the way it did for the Pats.
  17. Best offensive big man in the NBA. Hard to really say if he's the best overall player. His defense has improved significantly.
  18. Okay, I'm sorry...but Vince Carter jumped, shot the ball, landed on his feet (nobody else's feet), took a couple of steps, and RIGHT WHEN the shot bricked, he acted like he broke his foot. Forgive me for being suspicious.
  19. Don't even see the team getting into the ECF's. Philly could beat them in a seven-game series, and I don't need to tell you what the Heat and Bulls would do. Miss the playoffs, though? I wouldn't bet on it, but I wouldn't be surprised, either. Bulls Heat Sixers Pacers Knicks Magic Hawks That's seven in the East. The Cavs are currently in 8th, with a losing record...but near .500. The Celtics just seem like they've played for hours without breaks every single game they dive into. They need changes, ASAP, before most of the roster becomes too old to trade.
  20. Nobody should ever be compared to that fat slob, lol. A lot of QB's hold the ball in the pocket too long, some that shouldn't. Guys like Tebow and Big Ben should have that green light (Ben when he has two legs to play on) because they can make a play out of nothing. Tebow holding the ball means that any receivers he has should get open (no defense in the NFL, any era, can hold a good receiver core for THAT long), but they just aren't good. There are a lot of passes that Tim throws...you just know that they are inaccurate. Other times, you can tell when he's just throwing the ball away from the opposing jerseys, especially when he's overthrowing on a short route, and there's nobody in the vicinity. Gron, Hernandez, Welker, Branch...that Pats group would turn Tebow into a decent QB. He wouldn't be Tom Brady, but he wouldn't throw 9/26, either. And me saying that I wish he wasn't in Denver is more about rooting for the guy. I hate the Broncos.
  21. That last minute drive was just horrible...but he's a rook. Where is Tom Brady when you need him?
  22. No superstar, no problem (what Denver says as well). It's a unique team, no doubt. I'm always interested in teams that do this, because you go into every game not knowing what to expect from their players. If the Lakers are losing, you know Kobe will have the ball. Same with teams like the Heat and Knicks. With the Sixers, there's a bit of uncertainty, and I believe that's a small part of why they are winning games. When teams lose their superstar players, they still win a few games here and there because they are hard to figure out (almost all teams have done this in the past, but we know they wouldn't be able to win games without their stars for 82 games). Philly has a little more than just decent role players, so they are basically like the Nuggets, just in a different conference.
