A lot of people that commit suicide aren't even in the right state of mind to begin with, so they really don't care and are literally numb to it. Sure, I can't stab myself right now. I'm pretty sure, though, that if I were mentally ill in a sense that I just couldn't cope with life, to the point where I felt the walls were closing in, I would get it done without hesitation. Some hesitate. Some don't. Some won't even think about it. The way you feel about the subject has nothing to do with age. I know two people who have committed suicide (know as in just know of and have spoken to before). One did it because of his wife leaving him with his kids, and the other never left a note or anything, just used a rope and a chair (went to school with him). My take on it is that suicide is a weakness, a quick exit from your problems, and I refuse to respect that, especially when I've had more problems than either of those people and have never thought about killing myself, not once. Never wanted to just die. It's ridiculous. There is no better gift in this world than life. Without it, you have nothing. If you want to reject that gift using your own hands, so be it...but that only tells me that you reject everything else, which includes respect you can give to everyone around you, and sympathy you could be given if you had decided to seek help on the matter, instead of locking your emotions up and throwing away the key. It takes balls to admit you're wrong, and to seek help. It's extremely hard to do, especially among your friends and family. It's not only embarrassing, but it also builds uncertainty and insecurities within those around you, as well as yourself. Once you decide you are worthless on this Earth, when you truly feel it and you could care less about anything else, that one bullet is a better friend than anyone around you, and it doesn't take balls to get it done, it takes stupidity and a lack of respect, for the life you have and for the people's lives around you, the ones (such as your parents) that would give their lives just for you.

Possibly... It's been a while since we used that. I'll edit it soon.

It has nothing to do with actually making them. I'm already going to make 90+ banners for the team forums. It's more about deciding on who to put on there, how many more banners we'll need, and me having to have another 3-4 skins to cache, along with the 31 already needed. It's the main reason why I dropped the writers' customized forums from a long time ago. Great idea, but we have to think about our server, and re-caching that many skins at once puts a huge load on the server, especially when we're sharing it. If I had $200 a month, we'd go dedicated, but we don't have that kind of activity to start blowing money on one.

magicmoment and Ron Artest, just decided to show up at her house, haha http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs187.snc1/6260_158209708664_784693664_3306424_8295888_n.jpg Her sister and Ron http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs167.snc1/6250_1044278605654_1786315019_98336_7751306_n.jpg More family http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs167.snc1/6260_158209703664_784693664_3306423_324089_n.jpg Ron Artest is the MAN. I've never seen an NBA player interact with all of his fans like that, not this much. He talks to us on Twitter, jumps into video chats with us, and hell...he comes to your house.

If any other forum is getting personalized banners (other than the main index and the team forums), it'll be the other sports. There are too many artists to pick from, and if I do that, I might as well make the movies forum one also, and games...and there's just no point in doing that.

Is anyone here actually MOURNING the death of Ted Kennedy?
Real Deal replied to Lkr's topic in Off-Topic Discussion Forum
It was ridiculous to see people mourning Chris Benoit's death...and quite disgusting, to say the least. And I'm sure people felt the same about Michael Jackson (although I didn't). I'm assuming you're talking about Ted fleeing the scene during his accident. -
He should've wanted to in the Finals, then, when Hakeem had his way with him. Are you telling me that Shaq didn't want to win a championship? He is a decent defender. Howard is an exceptional defender. Shaq is a dominant offensive player, and Howard has no post moves and lacks a hook or the ability to pass the ball like O'Neal.
-
Howard is the better rebounder, defender and shot-blocker. It's not even up for debate. But Shaq was better at everything else, and about five times better than Dwight on offense. I watched Shaq since 1992. He has never defended the pick and roll well, always late getting to the rim to contest guard penetrations, and couldn't hold anyone one-on-one (and you saw this many times, especially with guys like Hakeem and Alonzo). Dwight is twice the defender Shaq was. Shaq is five times the offensive player Dwight is. It's really that simple.

If someone is personally attacking you, that doesn't give you the right to do the same. And it happens frequently between the same people all the time. It's a Philly fan and a Boston fan, football and baseball, sometimes basketball, and it's getting quite annoying. So this is the last time I'm asking both sides to fix it, before I start fixing it...and I'm really not that great at fixing things, just eliminating them, when I don't have the time. Start a new topic if you want to continue the original discussion, since it has already gone to waste.

Iverson says Griz made offer Tuesday
Real Deal replied to La Bomba's topic in Memphis Grizzlies Team Forum
Iverson was the main reason for the Nuggets creeping into the playoffs in 2008, so I'm not sure where you're going with that. They improved by what...four wins? Because of the Birdman and Nene being healthy? I seriously doubt it had anything to do with the Billups and Iverson deal, especially looking at the production from the two guards and how badly the Nuggets needed another scorer in the playoffs (and before them). -
You called me out for what? Please dude. If you'd like, I'll completely tear your argument apart. I've seen more shit (yes, that's what it is) in this baseball forum coming from you and other Philly and Boston fans, than anywhere else on this site. No coincidence that the same worthless trash goes on with the Eagles and Patriots. I don't take too kindly to people that can't control their mouths. You can talk trash on the Boston Red Sox as long as it's in moderation, but you aren't going to go after their fans, just as I don't allow personal attacks anywhere on this board. Yeah, I get the PM and I come in here. I don't pay attention to every single post on this site because I'm too busy working my ass off to allow you to post here for free. We're done talking.
-
And by the way, there's a difference between trash-talking, and calling other people douche bags. If you don't see that, you don't belong in any discussion.
-
Or I'll just ban you from the baseball forum and lose one poster. Until you run this site and pay for it, don't tell me what to do with it. I can already tell who the problem is.
-
The entire baseball forum is going to get deleted, completely (including all topics) if this continues. I don't care if your teams are bitter rivals or not. You guys are going to start respecting each other on the forums, or I will truly remove the baseball forum for every member here, and then I'll be sure to let all of them know why it was removed, and who was involved.

If you feel you deserve to end your life, you don't deserve to live that life in the first place.
-
Man. I'll take a look at that in a few.
-
I'll get them back up, don't worry. I have to re-code all of them, not just re-create the banners, so it's going to be a little bit. I'm hoping it'll take me less than a week.
-
Kobe with big man rebounding, shot-blocking and post abilities? That would suck for the rest of the league. Whoever did that blended the skin well. I've seen it before.
-
Font is back to 2.3.6 style (the old board). I knew most of you liked it better that way.
-
Should be fixed now. That's a bug I can't figure out. Every time I change the main skin, the team skins crash. I reported it to Invision.

Ron Ron vs. John Green on Monday Night Raw
Real Deal replied to a topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
Hate to break it to ya, but that really is Ron's Twitter. TLN members talk with him on video chat. I went in as a guest once, not believing it, but there it was...and he talks about that using his Twitter account, also. -
Yeah, they'll be up there, and probably Stockton and Malone (even though they didn't win, gotta blame Jordan). The theme is duos that have top three all-time players at their positions. Kobe, Shaq, Jordan, Pippen, Kareem, Magic, Stockton, Malone...I'd say all of them are top three at their positions. Pretty crazy, too.
-
Here's the plan for the team banners: http://www.otrbasketball.com/banners/vince_carter.jpg Why 2010? Because it'll probably be 2010 by the time I get done with these things. Haha, but I don't know...why not? Basketball and football games release early.
-
Well, the main problem is re-coding the skins. I have to edit all of the colors, and actually re-code the default one (although I'll do that off to the side, then replace it while you guys are sleeping, haha). The banners are tough because of the player cuts...just time-consuming...but the coding SUCKS.
-
Team sites won't be done for a while. I want to get them finished soon, but we might be talking a full week. Sorry guys. I'm doing what I can.
