when he was healthy he was one of my favourite players in the league. poor guy, should have stayed retired the first time, but i admire his heart and will to keep playing.
BFT, i did a quick google search for guys who have had a knee replacement who are/were active in the NBA and they were all coaches, literally.. tom thibedau (spelling?), mike d'antoni (the surgery that is keeping him on crutches atm) and jerry sloan when he was coaching the Jazz. one conclusion, coaching is a grueling job.
i dont think he could be able to run after knee replacement surgery, let alone play ball at a very high level.

How can you tell this? He is sitting on the sidelines in street clothes.
Haha let's be fair, a $1000 suit isn't street clothes. im not trying to criticize bynum. by all accounts, he seems like a pretty good dude. to me, <-- key words, he lets of the impression that hes not exactly the happiest person in philadelphia right now. maybe thats because of injuries, maybe its because the sixers have been a very average team so far and hes frustrated he cant do much to help at this moment, or maybe its because his heart is already looking at whats beyond philadelphia already. again, i cant know for sure, but its just the impression i get.
-
What is giving you guys that idea?
i don't know; watching some sixers game, i dont get the vibe that hes all too excited to play for them.
-
jalen rose was saying today on the NBA pre-game show before the thunder/clippers game that he fully expects andrew bynum not to play at all this season. he said that he thinks bynum will sit the whole season out because it basically does him no good to play -- if he plays after such a long time out and doesnt play all too well, then goes into free agency, his value isnt going to be as much as if he just sat out the whole season and asked for the maximum from another team. if he plays and cant show why he should earn a max, what time will give it to him? meanwhile, if he doesnt play at all and asks for the max, chances are some team will give him money based on merit alone.
bynum doesnt appear to be interested in playing with the sixers anyway from his body language and composure during sixers games. i think the league forces teams to wait three months to trade a player that has already been traded to you. but after those three months, i dont see why they would keep him unless he re-signs for a significantly less lucrative deal.

thanks for the welcomes guys. its good to have a place to talk about basketball again.

hey guys,
im not exactly new to forums but thought i would re-introduce myself anyway. the name is ATDI.. i havent been posting on forums in a long time, mainly because i lost interest in forums altogether, but thought id give posting a go again. I've had about 1000 posts on the old OTR, about 6000 posts all up on NBA Dimensions, and about 2500 posts on Insidehoops. Out of all those sites, OTR (or discusshoops) seems to have stayed the most consistent. Looking forward to talking basketball with everyone.

How many litres (or gallons is what I assume you use in America) went in? You could probably sifen (spelling?) all the fuel out if it's not too much. Either way, you're extremely lucky you're not having to buy a new car or engine right now.

i am a firm believer that the evolutionary argument fails, that it's merely just another theory.
No, it's fact. Charles Darwinwasn't sitting in his room when he up and decided that we're descendent from something else. No, he did decades of research as a geologist to gain information. He wasn't another Marx or Engels trying to make the world better with different social theories. Everything Darwin wrote, and even everything his predecessors wrote (there's a publication written in 1844 which deals with evolution, the authors name has unfortunately slipped my mind atm) was based on decades of research. Claiming that it's just another theory kind of implies that you don't really know much about evolution and its methods of research.
Christianity does help you gain a better understanding of the philosophical questions of life, it can lead to having a well shaped world view, not that implying that you have to take the routeNo it doesn't, it just creates a whole bunch of complications. There isn't another religion in the world that has as much disagreement as Christianity. For 1700 years, Christianity has been concerned with the trinity and its definition and meaning to Christians even though it wasn't even in the Bible to begin with. And what abuot the noted corruption of the Church all through history? There are of course others, but these are the first one that came to mind. How does this sort of indecisiveness and contradictions to the Bible shown everywhere in so-called higher criticsm answer any sort of philosophical question?
If you want to point to Revelations and its moral implications, there's really not another religion in the world that doesn't do the same thing, so why would Christianity be the correct one?

Bosh was supposed to play the role as a big rebounder, and another strong big man
Really? big rebounder and a strong big man? Bosh is one of the most perimeter oriented post players there is. Not only this, but his rebound rate in recent years has been nothing more than average. How did you expect him to miraciously become a great rebounder and a strong post prescence?

These announcers are buying into the Orlando Magic yet again.
Probably because they're good?
And Washington looks like a playoff team alright....Another team everyone had over the Cavs. Its been one quarter. Seriously, are people so petty that they'll attack everyone elses opinions after one quarter game?
-
Ellis is still the team's leader and featured player. That makes him the best, overrated or not.
This coming year or last year? Last year, sure, he was the 'leader' but that doesn't mean he will be coming into this season which is what the article is talking about. I'll even contend that he lost that 'featured player' title at the end of last season to Steph Curry.

Seriously, I feel like I'm reading 'money making for idiots.' Do you even get the hint that nobody here is going to follow your ridicolously naive (not to mentoined probably untested and ill-informed) advice?
-
I find it pretty funny how you complain about all of my posts being too long and unecessary (which I admit to being pretty bad at), yet you constantly go on these incoherent rants that can be summed up in one sentence.
Naive incoherent rants, to add to your sentence. Some of this stuff sounds like its just recycled off every google website he could find (written of course by other naive incoherent kids).

I am a fascist, always do whats best for the country.
communism ftw. do what's best for the people!

Kind of ironic that he's right, Deron Williams can no longer be considered underrated when he's voted the best PG in the league
If you're refering to me, I never said I agreed or disagreed. I just said there was irony to what he was saying. I wasn't refering to the actual content itself.
-
Yall need to stop thinkin you are cool just because you joined the D Will is underrated bandwagon, you are a little late.
How ironic that your signature says 'stop personally attacking me brah.'
Stephen Curry is very underrated. He was great for the Warriors in the final months of last season and hasn't really gotten much recognition for it. He's going to be a deadly all-around guard in a few years time.

^ what's with all the random money isn't life talk?
Im greedy, no way I would donate a lot of money to a charity. Volunteering is cool but I am a money saver, and every penny counts.
Karma, love. It all comes back to you in the end if you're patient.

I used to wear a bracelet. I stupidly gave it to one of my exes one day because it had broken and needed reparing. Shortly after, we broke up and she never gave it back. Fortunately for me, I took her brothers Nintendo DS! Not a bad swap, I guess.

I can already tell you haven't read the thread because I have quoted people on a lot of my posts, but good try. .
You quote, but you don't actually reply. You just sort of say the same thing over and over.. and over again.

All this time, I don't think EastCoastNiner has replied properly to a single comment anyone had made in this thread. What a horribly ignorant person.
I can't believe that you (ECN) actually bought into the deal that they're going to open it on the tenth anniversery, even though it was said weeks ago that that was just blanant lied put out by politicians and newsreaders who are not apparently allowed their own opinion on the news. And then to make it seem like the people who are builiding this thing are backtracking because they said it definitely wont open on September 11. How unbias of you to pin clear false advertisment on the Islamic population just because you don't want the westerners to be wrong.
It's ignorant idiots like you who will never allow religion and freedom of relgion to be just that. Muslims after 9/11 have to hide the fact that they're Muslim because you're going to call them wrong (all for the sake of intellectual conversatoin, of course.. who would want to look like they're being intolerant?) because of what happened on 9/11 like it was their fault. It's absolutely idiotic. Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world. The point of the mosque is to raise awareness that Islam is actually in New York City whether you like it or not and to teach people about the religion as well as provide community services to those who seek it. The people who are building the community center are doing absolutely nothing wrong. They haven't killed, they haven't insulted other religions, they aren't the ones on TV attacking each other over nonsense. They're kind people who want to do something for the Islamic community. And acts of service and kindness are wrong becuase? Oh right, because it's 2 blocks (do you even know how big a block is? It's ridicolous to think that this is your big issue. Go outside and walk two blocks and tell me it's not a long distance to walk) away from an act of terrorism that the people building the community center DIDN'T CONDONE.

and so you can see how it is for homeless people.
..no it's not.
[2:185] Ramadan is the month during which the Quran was revealed, providing guidance for the people, clear teachings, and the statute book. Those of you who witness this month shall fast therein. Those who are ill or travelling may substitute the same number of other days. GOD wishes for you convenience, not hardship, that you may fulfil your obligations, and to glorify GOD for guiding you, and to express your appreciation.
From the Quran.
It has nothing to do with seeing how homeless people live. Your ignorance annoys me.

Most Bosnians aren't even real muslims, 99% of them are alcoholics lolz.
Yeah, I'm the fake kind of Muslim.
What's with the hate? Did I say anything to you at all? There comes a time where you have to just get over yourself and grow up.

Good luck to you guys. This will be my first time doing it for the full thirty days. I was extremely ill last year (but did it for half the time anyway) and before that I was too young and my parents wouldn't allow me to try. So I'm hoping everything goes well.
