I'm pretty sure you can't sign anyone in FA unless you actually have the cap space to do so. Hence why all of those teams traded away key pieces just to create space this past summer.

How exactly are they supposed to acquire Deron with the new CBA if they are paying Melo and Amare roughly 40 million a year? Not to mention if this trade goes through with Denver, they won't have any trade assets left.

Well in Rd's defense, he did say: Free throw line dunks are done all of the time, not just in the NBA. He should've gotten a higher score on it, definitely, but not a 50. If he doesn't get a 50, he doesn't advance. I completely agree with him there. BFT and I talked about this earlier in the thread, the FT line dunk to me has just lost it's appeal because we see it almost every year. Serge probably did deserve a higher score, but not a 50. There's no creativity involved in it.

I think we are all happy with the overall outcome of the event, and it's that the dunk contest is finally back.

If that's the case, shouldn't we also discredit Serge Ibaka because he's so tall and has a taller wingspan than most players that have attempted the FT line dunk? And let's not forget, during his two ball dunk, he didn't even look at the ball in his left hand because he was concentrating on catching the ball with his right and dunking that in. There's very few players in the league today that can do that, I think it was Reggie Miller that said he doesn't know anyone that can do what JaVale did. Not even Dwight Howard. And that reverse cradle was great even if it was done before. Oh come on now Oliver, those dunks were not only never done before, but were extremely difficult. The one where he dunked in with two balls he had all of his momentum going towards the second basket, and had to extend his arms in order to dunk the other ball in. Not only that, but he's throwing one ball off the backboard and catching it with one hand, that involves some serious concentration. And his cradle dunk in the final round was amazing, for a guy that tall to do something like that, is crazy.

That was probably one of the best dunks I have ever seen. Iggy got robbed big time.

Well he had a great first dunk in the final round, so I think with the three ball dunk he probably could have won. That would be two strong dunks to end the contest on, especially if the judges were to decide on the winner and not the fans.

He was planning on saving the three ball dunk for last, but was forced to use it early on because Serge Ibaka had done the stuffed animal dunk which was much too similar to one of his ideas. That threw off his gameplan big time, and had to think on the spot with his last dunk.

Yeah I'm still having a hard time believing this. You would think when Sloan left, that he'd be a little more happy being under an offense which he's most comfortable in, but now he's making matters much worse. I never expected this out of him, I've always respected D-Will and thought of him as a loyal guy.

Your probably right, and to his credit, I don't think he had a single prop in his dunks. Major respect there. Hopefully Blake doesn't enter this thing next year, he's too much of a fan favorite, just like Dwight and Nate were.

It's great, but it's not a new idea... The FT dunk has been done every year, is it really all that impressive that he's a few inches behind the line?

If they just get rid of fan voting, everything will be ok. Leave it up to the judges..
