  1. This trade makes us a lot better, but if Bosh leaves we are stuck with this contract with Hedo basically as our best player.... anyways I think it was Doug Smith, or someone said in an article that if we make it out of the 2nd round our chances of getting Bosh back are very, very good. Don't quote me on this, I just remember coming across this on on the net one day. But our depth is non-existent, imagine if Hedo goes down? We will have Douby starting, smh BC has some mad wheeling and dealing to do to fill out our roster and get us our backup PG. EDIT - Signing, not trade.
  2. http://basketball.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/60325/20090704/source_hedo_headed_to_toronto/ I hate quoting realGM but this needs to be discussed. I hate how we gave up the rights to so many key players like Delfino, Parker, Marion and Graham, filling out our roster is going to be damn hard now.... and this is just a verbal agreement so he could still back out like he did with the Blazers. But anyways, right now under contract I think we have our starting 5 -- Bargs-Bosh-Hedo-Demar-Jose with Evans and Pops, unless I'm missing anyone we have a lot of damn work to do with only our MLE to use.
  3. Marvin is the only guy left that I like.
  4. Give me RJ, Artest is a ball-stopper.
  5. Ideally if we COULD deal Bosh I'd want to deal him for a team who had a high pick in the drafts (Jazz owning Knicks pick anyone?). Then ideally we'd deal Bargnani and Jose for picks, just start from the ground up since I don't think Bargnani and Jose can be a core on a championship team. Next year's draft is going to be insanely deep if the majority of top prospects declare.
  6. Sheed would be best going to SA, especially if he isn't starting in Boston lmao.
  7. I agree that Bargnani is a competent player, but there's no convincing the haters That is why Marion fits perfectly on this team, his great rebounding offsets Bargnani and sometimes Bosh's rebounding lapses.
  8. Wow Pittsburgh getting Guerin that cheap is a very good signing, he played a lot of minutes on the first line for them.... good deal he must wanna come back and win again. Losing Gill is an upgrade IMO, that guy can't even skate O_O at the money we threw at Komisarek, is he even any good?
  9. FA isn't the only way, RJ and VC went for next to nothing, there has to be someone out there that can play on the wing for us.... and yeah I know how exceptions work I was suggesting we use our cap first THEN our exceptions, and if the MLE is 5.5 million and you have 5 in cap you can use the MLE.
  10. Amare for Bosh rumors have been swirling forever, it isn't going to happen unless Stat signs an extension as soon as he gets here(verbal commitment).
  11. Yeah but at least he is going to be here next year and years down the road.
  12. Kleiza should not be a priority right now, we need a difference maker, that is why I don't want to see us waste our cap on Ariza.... after we use our cap use a portion of the MLE on Kleiza aight that's fine. Don't watch the guy whatsoever, but from what I hear from Raptors fans(take it for what it's worth) he'd be a very good addition, 6th man type.
  13. Add to that the tax complications as well as the exchange rate, this is just not a desirable destination. But I think it has to do with a preconceived idea of all people that Toronto is a crummy place, when it's not, anyone who has been here has had nothing but good to say about the city, sure the weather can get bad in the winter but who cares? Half of the season you're on the road and hardly even in town, you're at home in the Summer. Anyways, I agree, the only way that Toronto can become a desirable place is to establish themselves as a good team, but that won't be possible as long as people don't want to be here in the first place. Building a team in Toronto(or LAC, Memphis etc) is A LOT harder than any other franchise in the league, that is why a lot of the criticism of BC is unfair, he has to consider if the player he is getting will be here long term. Would Gay want to be here this time next year? Aldy? Roy? At least we know Bargs wants to be here and isn't looking to jump ship in 2010.
  14. It took BC the better part of 10 years to build a contender in Phoenix, a much different place than Toronto in terms of players desire to be there.... don't expect him to get that much time to do it here in Toronto where MLSE is a lot more impatient.
  15. As if Hedo is going to keep Bosh here.... I am starting to think not signing Hedo is better since if Bosh leaves anyways we'll be stuck with this contract and we'll suck too.
  16. Lol Kobe is going to cripple the Lakers ability to contend long term and field a deep team for years. Between Pau, Kobe and Bynum the Lakers will take up their entire cap, not sure how much the Lakers are willing to go over the Lux Tax but it's going to be hard to fill out a roster when Kobe is making 1/2 the cap in 3 years.
  17. ^^Our SF/SG will be playing in the paint and out PF/C will be taking jumpers/3's lol. Pretty sure Demar is the only wing we have under contract right now though.
  18. Honestly does Kerr have ANY sort of plan for this team? Every move he makes counteracts the last one. Pretty much what Force said, smh at Kerr completely demolishing a championship contending team and having nothing to show for it once Amare and Nash peace in 2010.
