  1. i like this signing. lakers were already struggling grasping the princeton offense, even with training camp. only kobe/pau/metta and possibly blake are familiar with the triangle. i never understood how phil could just come in with an entire roster oblivious to the triangle offense, with no training camp, and expect the team to succeed with such a complex system. this is also not taking into account all the demands he made. not to mention his last season here he was completely out coached by rick carlisle in the playoffs. i love phil and everything he did for the team but i honestly think he's done at this point, he has enough money and has 11 championships. just enjoy retirement.

PS: after witnessing mike brown, id be happy with pretty much anyone, including bernie bickerstaff lol

  2. i grew up watching kobe, he was one of the few players that really made me interested in basketball. its weird because all these people i grew up watching, like kobe, shaq, AI, pierce, KG, carter, t-mac, duncan, kidd, dirk, nash, webber, sheed, b diddy, yao and francis are all close to retirement if not already retired. it just feels weird that in 2-3 years pretty much all these guys i grew up idolizing will be gone.

as for the lakers i think they set themselves up just perfectly. our salary is set up so that in 2 yrs the only contract left on the books is steve nash, who expires after the season is over. i could see kobe, and pau, both potentially resigning for 1 more yr and playing the season out with nash and dwight and giving it one more run. but i think at max, kobe has 3 more years left. i dont see him staying any longer than that, and it will be a sad day when he does hang it up.

  3. la isnt exactly a football city at least not from what i noticed. its a basketball city, everyone is a laker fan, and dodgers have strong support. other than that, usc has strong support for college football. nfl wise, most people already have their teams, whether it be the raiders, chargers, niners. i highly doubt people are going to switch over just because a random team is brought over to la. like Lkr said, its already been tried twice and failed. so i dont know why they are wasting their time for a third time. stupid idea.

  4. smh cant believe we lost to kolb...

michael vick has 9 turnovers in 3 games. our defense has pretty much carried us the past two games, and it was only a matter of time before we lost given how shitty the offense has been. we could easily be 0-3 right now. it boggles my mind how we dont let mccoy run more often seeing how much vick has struggled, and how effective mccoy has been this yr. but andy reid is head coach so i guess im not actually so surprised because he is stupid.

  5. really liking the defense this yr, its definitely improved a lot compared to last season. cox, kendricks, and boykins were excellent additions in the draft and they contributed a lot to this win today. the addition of ryans was huge as well, he was great.

i still hate the offense. too many turnovers. i have to give credit to vick, he really came through today. however, we all know its only a matter of time before he gets injured, especially if he keeps getting hit like this.

  6. Ron shot 40% from three in the last month or two of the season, and it was right after he stated he was healthy (posted about it on Twitter), so I believe him 100% when he says he was injured. For the first few months, he was absolutely horrible...to the point where I figured he was drinking before every game, shooting 20% or worse from three (was at 17% at one point).

ron was injured to start the season. because of the lockout he couldnt use any of the team facilities or doctors which was why he started off the season playing so poorly. when he finally started getting healthy towards the latter part of the season his play improved drastically. not worried about him at all.

So, we have Nash, Ron, Blake and Goudelock shooting threes (Goudelock will see a little more time, I'm sure, especially with this offense). Blake is a career 39% 3PT shooter, and had his second bad season last year (the first being a long time ago), so I'm going to expect a higher percentage. Jamison can stretch the floor, shooting around 34-35% from three...so we'll have two three-point threats in our starting five, and 2-3 off the bench.

just a correction :), jodie meeks is replacing goudelock. upgrade for us since meeks is a much better shooter/scorer. he will thrive with the amount of open looks he will get playing alongside nash/kobe/pau/dwight
