Bryant and all-time Lakers records
kingfish replied to Real Deal's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
I somewhat agree, it depends on how he plays. If he performs against Miami the way he performed against Boston, he will not get that credit that you mention. Especially if Gasol tears it up again. People will still say Kobe didnt do enough to be on MJ's level, and I might agree with them. -
For me it was 2006. I hated that Suns team, fans, and all the antics in their arena when we lost to them. Boston in 2008 did some crooked [expletive] too but they didnt have a [expletive]ing gorilla running around and mocking us. The reason Boston didnt hurt as bad was because we didnt have Pau for a full season in order to get get hca, and we did not have Bynum or Ariza so I knew we would come back and win the championship next year. I was very optimistic after 2008, while 2006 was just a total meltdown because I felt that team was going to shock people because of how crazy Kobe was that year.

Who the [expletive] is jadakiss? 50 cent will stomp on this scrub any day.

Demo looks pretty good. I love the presentation and shot of staples center in the intro. Looks like you finally get penalized for lead passing with turnovers, and reaching doesnt seem to be that bad anymore as the fouls are more sensitive. And its not ridiculously easy to beat your man off the dribble anymore. I hope its good when the game comes out, I just know there are going to be ways to cheese it though.

I dont personally hate the kid, I dont like his music but I think he does have talent. At least his dancing is good, I dont know how much stake he actually puts into his songs he probably just sings whatever hes told to sing. And he doesnt seem like a douche with his personality, he could certainly be a lot more cocky and probably should be. What I think is ridiculous is the obsession over him. Teenage girls that idolize him seem pathetic to me, they are probably never going to meet him and hes never going to give a flying [expletive] about them. But I guess thats just how females are, they get obsessed with fantasies even if they know its impossible. But the obsessions do get annoying.

How would you grade both LA's and the C's off season?
kingfish replied to Air Robinson's topic in General NBA Discussion
Lakers - A Boston - B+ The Lakers got exactly what they needed. They finally got a good all around point guard, one that can play defense and has a well rounded offensive game. Barnes was also a very good acquision because he fits in perfectly with the bench, shoots the 3 well and is a solid defender. The last few years the Lakers have had Jordan Farmar and Luke Walton occupying those spots and they won the championship, while this year they got significant upgrades to those positions. Not to mention they finally got a legitimate 2nd string center. Boston gets a B+ because they got some players who are notorious for locker room problems. They are either going to be very smart or very stupid for their signings. Shaq gives them a huge advantage against Miami in the paint, because they have nobody who can come close to matching his size. Delonte is also a very good and underrated player, hes alright on defense but he is very good at shooting the ball and creating his own shot. But Delonte can be a problem in the locker room, and Shaq may start to cause some problems in the locker room when he doesnt get the playing time he wants. Jermaine Oneal was their best signing, but he has a bad history of getting injured. If he is healthy it may not be for long. -

[Completed] NBA's best player to never be an all-star
kingfish replied to Real Deal's topic in General NBA Discussion
Hes had other great seasons. 14 points, 10 rebounds, 3.5 assists in 07-08. 14 points, 9 rebounds, 5.5 assists in 05-06. He also had a couple of great years for the Clippers which you wrote off because they were a crappy team. Hes had SEVERAL great seasons. Im curious where you get this easy baskets theory from, interesting. What makes Odom unique is his ball handling, passing, and versatility for a legitimate power forward. He may or may not be the best player to never be an all star, but hes certainly in the discussion. -
[Completed] NBA's best player to never be an all-star
kingfish replied to Real Deal's topic in General NBA Discussion
He had 4 seasons with the Clippers, and had his best year in Miami where he averaged 17 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 4 assists, on a team that made the playoffs. Then he moved on to average 15 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists his first year in LA. 2 years later averaged 16 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists on a playoff team. In comparsion, Al Horford averaged 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 assists last year and made the all star team. Odom's offensive skillset is cherry picking? You must watch a lot of basketball, great insight. And he was moved to the bench but he still averaged 30 minutes per game in both the regular season and playoffs of the last 2 championship runs. Look at how smart you are. -

kingfish replied to Real Deal's topic in General NBA Discussion
Umm not really his career averages are 14 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists (for a power forward, mind you), 1 steal, 1 block, and pretty decent percentages. Not to mention hes got 2 championship rings and a versatile skillset. If you think Lamar Odom was the worst suggestion in this thread then you dont know [expletive] about basketball. And Deron Williams has made the all star team, idiot. -
