  1. Kentucky should be very good next season and with Archie Goodwin, Alex Poythress, and Willie Cauley-Stein announcing they will return next season they will be very deep and talented even with Nerlens Noel possibly leaving in the draft.

A roster of Andrew Harrison, Archie Goodwin, Alex Poythress, Julius Randle, Willie Cauley-Stein, Kyle Wiltjer, Aaron Harrison, James Young, Dakari Johnson, and Marcus Lee looks very good on paper

  2. All 3 are having a career season and are improving.

Asik is looking like a bargain averaging 10.5 points on 54% shooting, 11.7 boards, and 1.1 blocks a game.

Vucevic is looking like more than just a throw in for the Dwight Howard deal averaging 12.3 points on 52% 11.4 boards, and a block a game.

Pekovic could be a key free agent next season if the T'Wolves don't resign him. He's averaging 15.9 on 51% shooting, 8.8 rebounds, and averaging a little under a block at .9

They all have a lot of improving to do but at this point he is and will be the better player

  3. Really good game though. Bright spot was that Thomas Robinson was playing down the stretch and looked really good with a few key defensive plays. Still Asik needed to be in the game.

This should do a ton for Robinson's confidence.

Yeah T-Rob made some really good defensive plays in the 4th and is looking like he's finding his place on this team. Beverely made some pretty good plays as well too. I would have liked to see what a lineup what have looked like with Beverley, Harden, Parson, T-Rob, and Asik near the ending of the game.

  4. Delfino has been playing hurt these past 3-4 games and on an average night from him, that lineup is money.

We probably would have been better off with him on the floor, just having another 7 footer when the ball was getting tipped around in the final minute could have saved us the game but hindsight is 20-20. When the game is on the line gotta go with whats proven to work.

I've been hyped about Motiejunas for about 5 years now lol. Trust me, no one else wants him on the court more than I do and its terrific to see him producing like this as a rookie.

The whole team has been dealing with there fair share of injuries this year but I agree the lineups good when everyone is executing.

Agreed. However I'm now over this game luckily Utah, Portland, and Dallas lost tonight but the Rockets aren't doing themselves any favors by losing to teams like the Bucks (there good but this game was winnable , Wizards, and Kings. Hopefully we don't lose to Orlando our next game and maybe LA loses to Minnesota some how.

I'm glad to see him producing as well. Really glad to see him hustle and go after the boards the way he did today.

  5. Lol.

As for playing Delfino at the 4, its our best lineup easily. Therefore it only makes sense to close the game out with it especially on a night where Asik is hauling in 22 rebounds anyways.

Eventually I'm sure Motiejunas will be the one closing out games but I'm not going to bash McHale for keeping him out late in the game when its his first career start (and only a few games since he's joined the rotation).

I don't have a problem with Delfino playing the 4 occasionally but for these last 2 games I didn't like it in those situations.

I'm not bashing McHale at all I think he's been doing good this season and I also understand that its going to take some time for guys like D-Mo and T-Rob to adjust to this team. I just would have liked to see D-Mo finish the game out today with the way he was playing I'm sure he could have got close to double double. It is what it is though he still has to pay his dues but he's come around nicely.

  6. Monta has always been a bit of a Rocket killer but that shot was crazy and to make it worse it was off of a missed rebound attempt from the Rockets.

I blame McHale to an extent in this one though I don't understand why he continues to let Delfino play PF at the ending of games. The Wizards realized that mismatch at the ending of  our last game and Okafor backed Delfino up into a foul. This game we needed a rebound to at least take the game to OT and we have no rebounders other than Asik in. D-Mo was actually having a solid game scoring, passing, and rebounding I don't understand why he wasn't in at that time. I would have even preferred T-Rob  even though he didn't do much.

  7. James Harden: 46 points on 19 shots, overcame double digit deficit in 4th quarter.

Holy cow. Lin had a pretty huge night too for 29 points, nailed a few crucial threes down the stretch. This happens while the Rockets were undermanned and temporary lost Parsons when he rolled his ankle.

He definitely had a point to prove today especially after his last 2 performances against OKC. Lin has been picking his game up a lot as well and seems a lot more comfortable than he did earlier in the season.

  8. Great win today and best win of the season IMO even better than the 45 point win in Utah and the Golden State game when we nearly broke the 3 point record. The Rockets showed a lot of heart today short handed with the trades and injury to Parsons but stuck in the game and got a win against a great team. Couldn't have started the second half of the season out any better I hope it continues.

I can't wait to see what T-Rob and Garcia can bring this team in the next couple of games as well.

  9. It may just be me but I really don't have that much of a problem with it our announcers did something similar when MKG got stretchered off the court that some Bobcats fans took offence too

The Rockets have the worst announcers in the NBA. So, don't talk about any type of bias or ridiculous commentary.

-Because I have so often praised the Rockets commentary.

I really don't think no Rockets fan disagree's with that. Clyde Drexler and Matt Bullard are corny as hell though I can deal with Matt more than Clyde, Bill Worrell is ok at times but he can be a major homer. I personally wish we still had Calvin Murphy as one of our announcers at least he keep things entertaining and was pretty informative about the game.

  10. I realize Houston could get Smith in the offseason, despite what happens before the deadline...but it seems to me like it would be a better idea to actually trade for him now (at the current check he's sittting on), and then lure Dwight over while giving Smith an incentive to sign for a bit less than the max as well.

Smith could take less if it means Dwight comes to Houston, and no matter what, Dwight is more likely to come to Houston if they have Smith already on deck (even if the possibility is slim, it would help if they did have him).

I agree that would actually be one of the positives in trading for Smith. The Rockets get to see what J-Smoove can bring to the Rockets before making a decision to re-sign him back in the offseason or not and being that he's friends with Dwight he could entice him to come to the Rockets. One of my problems with Smith though is that he feels he's a max player and I don't see that in him but if he's willing to take less money to build a contender than I'm all for it.

I really don't know though well just have to see what happens. If the Rockets do pull the trigger it will be interesting to say the least on how all of this would turn out.

  11. This would be an interesting trio but honestly I would pass on trading for Smith. If we can get Smith as a FA in the offseason and not pay the max I would do it but I don't think he will settle for anything less than a max and I don't think it would make much since to trade any good assets like Parsons or Asik for him especially if we can get Smith in the offseason. Plus while I don't mind taking Smith I don't know if he would really fit what the Rockets are looking for a in a PF. Smith would be nice on the defensive end with with Asik down low and running the break but the Rockets are looking for more of a post up threat and a PF that can space the floor hence the reason guys like Patterson and Morris have shot so many 3's this season and why the Rockets drafted guys like T-Jones and D-Mo who are tweener fowards.

As for Howard I would still pay the max for him if he's healthy and wants to come to Houston. My only problem with Howard is that he's been injured pretty much all of last season and the beginning of this season and that he hasn't played his best basketball this season. But you can't pass up on talent and Kobe may have effected the way Dwight has been playing a bit this season the 2 clearly don't see eye to eye.

In all honesty though I fell if we can't snag Howard this season that we should just make minor adjustments and wait for the 2014 FA class were all the big names are going to be anyway and try to snag someone. We would have a chance to get Lebron (not likely to happen but he'll be out there), D-Wade (though we don't need him with Harden here), Chris Bosh (would be a good fit next to Harden), Tony Parker ( I think he re-signs with San Antonio but If Lin is traded I wouldn't mind looking at him), Cousins (another good fit with Harden he's a restricted FA but I don't see him re-signing with the Kings), Melo (I think he stays with NY but Houston was interested in him during the Melo drama), etc... The big 3 for Miami and Melo all have team options and could possibly restructure there contracts to stay but I would still rather take my chances in the 2014 FA class.
