  1. I think they could miss it. They're old and I think even a light injury to KG/ Ray/ Pierce could really shelf them.

One thing about NBA is it's a fast game than normal/ international basketball. If your team is unathletic, old, slow, it's a major disadvantage because majority of teams in NBA are athletic and fast. Yes, experience and know-how are valuable, but teams with most energy generally wins in this L.

I agree with Nitro, they gotta deal KG and Ray and maybe Pierce too and build around Rondo.

  2. ^Andre Miller + Birdman + fillers for Gasol + filler PG?

We played good D, but Lakers offense sucked more than we played good D.

We know who to go to in crunch time: Ty. Just make sure he gets the ball and good things happen.

Bird was like Patrick Ewing, shooting and hitting shots from all over court.

  3. I am shocked. I had a bad feeling Gallo would miss when he started the break & was chased by Blake and Kobe but not in that fashion, I was thinking more like got roughed up by Blake and did not get the call, but he got a clear look after he rose past Blake. He ran too fast for his body's weight, height and balance.

Gotta give credit to LA's defense. It's only thing they realistically count on to contend for championship. Mad but not disappointed, cuz LA worked hard to get its W, which I respect, instead of getting crazy favorable calls.

  4. Warriors, Pacers and Lakers are playing very good D so far.

    - It's impressive how Mark Jackson is really changing the defensive culture of the organization.

    - Lakers are 1-2 but played very good D in all three, their D should improve even more with Bynum back.

    - Pacers are naturally physical, maybe the most physical team in the L: Hansbrough, D-Jones, D-West, Granger, George... My bold prediction: top 3 in East.

  5. It's easier to teach team defense than individual defense. The Warriors and Lakers are two teams that got defense-minded coach... it shows. Thibs made the Bulls the best defensive team in just 1 season.

Individual defense often relies on the individual. e.g.

    - Melo can really play D, but he chooses not to.

    - Kobe was not a strong defender in his first 3 years, then ask Gary Payton for pointers and immediately made All Defense First Team in 2000.

    - In early years of his career in Toronto, T-Mac was a better defender than he was a scorer... he had this All Defense potential, but he chose to focus on offense.

  6. I'm lovin our team now. We are the most complete team in the L.

    Size: check (Mozgov, Koufos, Gallo).

    Speed: check (Lawson).

Bench: check (Miller, Harrington, Fernandez, Birdman, Brewer, Koufos, Faried)

Veteran leadership: check (Afflalo, Miller, Lawson)

Shooting: check (Gallo, Afflalo, Lawson)... streaky: Fernandez, Harrington, Brewer

Strength: check (Nene, Miller, Lawson, Mozgov, Koufos)

Barring injuries, only off nights can really stop our O... really. If we can focus on D, we're a nightmare to play against.

  7. - This could be a very special season for Nuggets if they can keep their focus and intensity on the D. Their D takes care of their O. Afflalo is our leader, stabilizer on a team full of youngsters eager/ excited to prove themselves. He will put daggers in many teams' fans' hearts this year. ;) Ty Lawson will be an All Star this year!

    - Clips are special and deep. CP3 is a true superstar and if Clips win 50 games, he should be named MVP. I reckon Blake will struggle a bit pre-All Star before finding his rhythm again post All Star. Billups is way too selfish, but that selfishness may be the yang to Chris Paul's unselfishness yin and when they get tentative, that selfishness can erase doubt. But I can tell Blake and DeAndre and everyone on Clips were like, "man you shoot too much". It seems Billups does not defer to anyone except CP3.

    - DeAndre Jordan will average 4+bpg this season and be named DPOY. I'd wanted the Nuggets to sign him instead of keeping Nene. DJ will be a special player.

    - Mark Jackson is rapidly changing the culture of Warriors defensively, you can tell in the first game that the Clips struggled not because they haven't meshed together, it's because the Warriors played good D on them.

    - Rubio is a better flashy passer than 1999 Jason white chocolate Williams but J-Will was the better scorer.

    - Kobe is pissed... even before the Bulls game, everyone can tell. Why would they not surrender an injury prone Bynum + old/ not getting better Gasol for one true superstar who can dominate the game defensively, I don't know. Do the trade now and think later.

    - Speaking of DH12, I agree with Nitro, the Bulls need to trade for him or the Heat will beat them again.

    - The Pacers are the new Bad Boys, physicality will be their no. 1 weapon. They will rank top 5 defensively. Frank Vogel can coach and Paul George is good.

    - Who cares about Hawks, Bucks, Bobcats? They're boring as hell. Also long season for Raptors, Suns and Jazz.

    - I love any game played at Madison Square Garden. I still hate Melo and his laziness.

    - I love Kawhi Leonard, he can really defend and score, he's really good.
