Some guys blossom when they're thrust into a leadership position, e.g. think Billups. In Phoenix, he always has Nash as the team's leader. It's a good surprise to see him take early initiative and say he wants to be a leader... at a time when Knicks desperately need one. If he wants to be a leader, he knows his responsibilities go up, and that includes plays on the court... namely defense and rebounding. If Amare ever averages 10 rpg in his career, this is the season. If not now, it will never come.

The last 2K I Played (2K9) with KG on cover, I was trashed so bad by CPU... Hall of Fame difficulty... it's not even funny, I played like 250 games and only won once, the rest was blow out losses. It's time for revenge lol

Never said I want to play for the Nets
Multi-Billionaire replied to magicbalala245's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
I wanna shoot this guy really... the Nets are moving to Brooklyn. What does he want?? The more pre-season games the Nets play, the more they're keeping Favors. [expletive]. And it's understandable for Nets to be put off after this comment. Who wants to trade their 3rd pick for a one year rental player? The way he does the whole thing makes me hate him, the way he came to media day, smiling, "I never asked for a trade" but everyone knows his intention, it's like he wants to put the whole Nuggets organization, fans down if it's what it takes to get what he wants... -
What bothers me about gays.
Multi-Billionaire replied to YugoRocketsFan's topic in Off-Topic Discussion Forum
I had a gay as housemate... he's super gay to the point I thought he was "beautiful"... and then I was like WTF am I thinking? What I can't stand is they act like girls... so I'm not sure if I should treat them like a girl, and it sure feels awkward to treat them like girls because they start to like it, and not necessarily mutual. The question I have is: should we treat them (speak, behave, act) like we do girls? It feels awkward on my part to do it, but I can't treat them like they're men either. -
Nuggets listening to offers for Carmelo
Multi-Billionaire replied to magicbalala245's topic in Denver Nuggets Team Forum
You're gonna say Stein, Wojnarowski, Bucher, Ford, Broussard wrong... 5 guys who've covered NBA stories for years with legitimate accuracy, yet gonna believe one Ken Berger? Dude... Berger just took whatever Ted Leonsis said and ran with the story. Until Stein, Woj, Broussard say the same thing, I won't believe it. -
Why I don't want to have a daughter
Multi-Billionaire replied to Flash's topic in Off-Topic Discussion Forum
Wat? Girls enjoy sex as we do... let her be herself... you ain't keeping the vag to yourself. lol If you keep a tight leash, she'll turn even wilder when she's grown up (think Sex and the City girls). Dogs that are tight-leashed are more dangerous than dogs that are let free. But don't persuade her to be a hooker either... that's the daughter. -
If hard cap, then I think $80 mil is fair.

Can someone explain to me how "hard cap" works? So if it's $45 mil you can't exceed it by a penny?

I'd say the Kings, I think Cousins will be very effective for them. And (serious) Nuggets. People will write us off when we trade Melo. But I'm fairly confident with the group without him: Billups, Afflalo, Ty, KMart, Harrington, Nene, J.R. and the coach is back. Not to mention the player we'll get in return for Melo. If it is Favors, I am pretty sure the rook can give instant impact whether it's some explosiveness like Amare gave the Suns when he was a rookie, or rebounding like when Dwight gave the Magic when he was a rookie. And Clippers also get my vote. They're ridiculously talented. Hopefully Griffin can play to his potential, and a core of Griffin, Gordon, Kaman, Aminu surrounded by lots of good players like Smith, Butler, and Jordan, they can win some games and be that 8th seed team.

Carmelo still wants out Page 4 in this thread
Multi-Billionaire replied to magicbalala245's topic in General NBA Discussion
Dude are you this stupid or just naive (excuse)? The "the money will be there, it's about basketball" comment by Melo is to take the leverage away from Nuggets... it is to make the Nuggets sweat, it is to make the Nuggets keep thinking, it is to make the Nuggets panic and trade him. In a game of poker, you wanna convince the other guy you have great cards even if you don't. This is what Melo's doing. Here's how I'd put it so you understand better: Nuggets: (smile) "we know you want extension and don't wanna sign under new CBA... it's too much pay cut for you. We know you're not gonna do it, Melo. We're 100% sure you're not gonna leave next summer. So if we keep you, before the next summer you'll want to sit down with us and sign extension and be a Nugget long term." Melo: "yeah? Well how you know I ain't gonna do it (bluffing)? I might go do just that. Be a FA next summer, take less money." (bluffing) Melo: "hear me out 'THE MONEY WILL BE THERE, IT'S ABOUT BASKETBALL'" Nuggets: "even taking 30-35% less money and less year(s)?" Melo: "you bet" Nuggets: "we're talking about as much as $7 mil per season pay cut... 1-2 less years... from a $68 mil-3 years extension becomes a $44 mil - 3 years extension. From a $126 mil - 6 years contract to a $56 mil - 4 years contract " Melo: "THE MONEY WILL BE THERE for me, endorsements and [expletive]. I am focused on ball. I ain't worried about money (bluffing) I got money. (bluffing) IT'S ABOUT BASKETBALL (poker face, trademark smile) (Screaming inside: "TRADE ME NOW SO I CAN SIGN MY [expletive]ING EXTENSION") Nuggets: "[expletive] we gotta trade you now before you LeBron or am-Bosh us." Melo: (laughing inside) "hey I never ask for a trade... but if you're to trade me, can you look at the Knicks? I'd go there if you want to trade me" (trying to look as innocent as possible). -

^Dude smh, if there's so little difference in current and next CBA, nobody would dread about it. Why's everyone "panicking"? Because there will be huge difference in salaries under current and next... dude you can't see the fish in the fishbowl. http://www.denverpost.com/nuggets/ci_16200866 -

I'd trade him for Stephen Curry straight... so would Nuggets. But problem is Warriors are not trading him. No way we'd take Monta and Biedrins. I do think Nuggets like Favors offer the best. -
Cousins at center or power forward?
Multi-Billionaire replied to Real Deal's topic in Sacramento Kings Team Forum
He sure plays like C, but versatile enough to be a PF. But given his size, I think coaches will put him at C... start him with Landry. Opponents will not get many rebounds against them. -

Source: Melo Approves Trade To Nets
Multi-Billionaire replied to Lkr's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
^Deal is not dead, both Nuggets and Nets are re-structuring the trade. Money is the reason Nuggets are not doing the 4 team trade. AK and Favors' contracts are $21.9 mil combined, compared to Melo's $17.1 mil contract. For the Nugs, that's taking back $4.8 million more. Taking luxury tax into account, that means we're paying $9.6 mil MORE by doing that deal when we get worse as a team. So the Nuggets are still talking with the Nets to take possibly other players like Birdman or J.R. or maybe Nene (I don't think Kenyon should be included his contract will expire after this season). The Nuggets are trying to work out these money matters with Nets. One thing is clear, Nets really do want Melo and they will do whatever it takes to get a player of his caliber to be their face of franchise (except including Lopez in a trade). Nets will get whatever Nuggets want, outside of trading Lopez. King wants to make a big first splash with the Nets and what better deal than landing a superstar? He wants it, Phokorov wants it, it's what matters (Avery may rather keep Favors but it doesn't matter lol). Nets will do whatever it takes to get this done, they're determined... and Nugs want to deal with Nets because they want Favors and partly because New Jersey is much closer to where Melo wants to go (NY) than say, Philly or Charlotte. -
Nuggets refusing to send Melo to New York?
Multi-Billionaire replied to Dash's topic in New York Knicks Team Forum
^It's not going to happen. The Nugs GM is Masai Ujiri who experienced the whole thing with Bosh in Toronto. Money is the reason Nuggets are not doing the deal with Nets. AK and Favors' contracts are $21.9 mil combined, compared to Melo's $17.1 mil contract. For the Nugs, that's taking back $4.8 million more. So the Nuggets are still talking with the Nets to take possibly other players like Birdman or J.R. or maybe Nene. I don't think Kenyon should be included his contract will expire after this season. The reason why there's no trade is not because "the Knicks are getting back into the talks" or "Melo will only sign off on the Knicks" but rather Nuggets are trying to work out these money matters with Nets. One thing is clear, Nets really do want Melo and they will do whatever it takes to get a player of his caliber to be their face of franchise (except including Lopez in a trade). I like Gallo... he's my boi, but no way a package of Gallo, Anthony "I'm hot in summer league games ONLY" Randolph, and Chandler is gonna do it... they're all good-very good players, but 3-4 good-very good players don't add to a franchise player. It's like when Barkley was traded to Suns for 4-5 good players... Sixers were robbed. Barkley won the MVP in his first season there. With LeBron sharing spotlight in Miami with Wade, there's a good chance for Melo to be an MVP if he can average 30, 5, and 5 and lead the Knicks to 50-55 wins. Rather than taking 3-4 good-very good players in return, I'd rather bank my fortune on a rookie whose upside is ridiculous, who can be a special franchise player. Can he be a bust? Sure, but I'd not take the safe way, but take risk. If the kid is a diamond in a rough, I will see he will turn into a diamond and not less. Risk is a risk. This is a smart one. --- And I also truly believe this "I never asked for a trade" is a bull[expletive] scam pulled by Melo. We all know what his intention is, to play for the Knicks, meaning he wants out. He wants to eliminate any leverage the Nuggets have... he wants to make it clear that he doesn't want to go to Nets. But we're going to convince him to go to Nets... regardless. -
Sixers Emerge as Anthony's landing spot
Multi-Billionaire replied to magicbalala245's topic in Philadelphia 76ers Team Forum
^Tell me how we don't have leverage when: - We can say to Melo, "screw you, you're a Nugget for the whole 2010-11 season, then you can leave as a free agent in 2011, we as a team get nothing in return when you walk, but you also woN'T get the extension" - EVERYone knows Melo wants that extension (EVERYone except maybe you) because if he signs under new CBA next summer, the money could be less by as much as 30-35% range (or about $18-24 mil less). EVERYone knows this, but you're the only who keeps saying the less money means little you're a joke - Melo's agents (Leon Rose and CAA) are actually pushing Melo to agree to the Nets trade and sign extension. Again it comes back to the new CBA being instituted next summer. Any player signing a contract under the new CBA will take considerably less money, be it a max, a mid level, a veteran minimum, a minimum. Dude don't keep saying this doesn't matter when you don't understand it. -

Don't want Iggy... can't understand any team's fascination about him. He'll never be a good 1st option... I'll take Iggy if Holiday is also in the deal and at least 1 future first round pick. But I'm sure they're discussing Turner instead of Holiday... and Melo's signing extension there is a long shot if he doesn't approve going to Nets. -

Multi-Billionaire replied to magicbalala245's topic in General NBA Discussion
Obviously if we Nuggets say to Melo, "okay we're gonna trade you to the Knicks (for Gallo, Randolph, Douglas, and picks)", Melo will accept it, and sign an extension there. But if we said that and he still refuses and does the no extension no trade thing then leave to sign with the Knicks next summer anyway, then he'll really wanna screw us. I don't think we've done anything to deserve it... Everyone knows he wants to go to Knicks and if not then Chicago and then LA and then lastly New Jersey. I don't think he's trying to screw us like that... the only thing he's kinda screwing us is he's hesitating to accept trade to New Jersey, which will give us the most value. And the other thing is his whole public comments (Live Show with Lopez and tweets) saying that "it's funny" how people say he wants trade, as if suggesting that he's happy in Denver and people just speculate... but cmon, EVERYone knows he wants out of Denver and he makes appearance in public saying that's not the case... that's really pissing off Nugget fans, at least me. It's obvious, say the truth "It's true. I want out of Denver and go to New York". -
What should the Lakers do with Bynum?
Multi-Billionaire replied to La Bomba's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
Haha we would NOT deal Melo for Bynum why would we? I used to like Bynum but his history of injuries can't be ignored. I wouldn't be surprised if the fear of another injury psychology effect has on him is bigger than the real injuries he has got. I tell ya Nuggets would rather go with Gallinari, Randolph, and Douglas package offered by the Knicks... sigh -

I think it will happen. The Nets want to get Melo more than we want to trade him, that's for sure... I think the Nuggets told the Nets they'd like to explore other possibilities for now and if they don't get anything, the trade will be made at the final hours of Sunday.
