  3. Clippers make an offer to Jamal Crawford The Clippers offered a contract to Jamal Crawford on Tuesday, but no deal is imminent as he weighs potential interest from the Wolves, Sixers, Suns, and Grizzlies. There was word that Crawford was going to be offered mid-level money over three years, but the terms are undisclosed at this time. The inefficient volume shooter is a liability on defense and needs to be in a second-unit gunning role, and if he signs with the Clippers he'll need to cool it on the bad shots or face the wrath of CP3. 6. The Clippers reached out to Courtney Lee on Tuesday after the 6-foot-5 guard was told that the Houston Rockets weren’t going to make him a qualifying offer, a person close to Lee who was not authorized to speak publicly on the matter confirmed to The Times. That makes Lee an unrestricted free agent and able to sign with any team. Multiple reports said that the Indiana Pacers, Chicago Bulls, Dallas Mavericks and Washington Wizards also have interest in Lee. Lee, a four-year veteran, would also be a good fit for the Clippers because they are looking for a big shooting guard and for someone who can spread the floor with his outside shot. Lee, who made $2.2 million last season, averaged 11.4 points last season in 58 games, 26 as a starter for the Rockets. He shot 43.3% from the field, 40.3% from three-point range. The Clippers continue to have interest in guards Jamal Crawford and Ray Allen. Full Story

  18. The Warriors have signed Harrison Barnes to a contract http://www.nba.com/warriors/sites/warriors/files/barnessigned_300x379.jpg The Golden State Warriors have signed Harrison Barnes, whom the club selected with the seventh overall selection in last week’s NBA Draft, to a contract, the team announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released. Barnes, 20, was an early entry candidate for the 2012 NBA Draft after playing two seasons at the University of North Carolina. A two-time All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection, Barnes appeared in 71 games during his collegiate career, averaging 16.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.0 steals in 31.0 minutes per contest, while shooting 43.1% from the field, 73.4% from the line and 34.9% from three-point range. Last season, the 6’8’’ forward averaged a team-leading 17.1 points per game (ranked third in the ACC) en route to being named First-Team All-ACC. During his freshman season (2010-11), Barnes earned ACC Rookie of the Year honors and All-ACC Second-Team accolades after averaging 15.7 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists. http://www.nba.com/warriors/news/barnes_signed_070312
