it depends on the school. i went to a big high school so they obviously had to do cuts. there were cuts for varsity and jv, but freshmen was no cut. but i know a few people who played and got little to no play time since there were so many people on the team

my first thought exactly. but it seems like a pretty good trade for both sides. san jose needed to do something, and they got one of the most talented players in the league to play alongside joe thorton. that line is gonna be nasty if they play together and the senators got rid of heatley, but they still got 2 very good players in return
