Is Joe Johnson's Stock Going Down During The Playoffs?

If the Hawks lose in the first round (even if they win) where they are heavily favored to win by just about everybody...does Joe Johnson's stock go way down while he's a free agent in the off-season? Who's going to be willing to pay him the max, if anybody? If the Hawks continue to win this Game 7 currently on, it won't be because of Johnson that they won.

I don't think it'll go down. He's proven that he's one of the better players in the NBA. He had some solid games already in the playoffs so I don't think one game will affect him too much (especially if the Hawks advance to rd 2).

He's averaging 23 pts, 5 rebs, and 6 assists per game in this series. He's struggling with the three ball but outside of that I think he's played a good all around series.

Plus, he's been playing some great defense lately.

Thanks for pulling up the stats. Like I said, he hasn't been bad the entire series. He had some really good games against us. Just because he's out of his groove today doesn't mean you can say his stock will drop. I'm sure he's extremely nervous as he was expected to put this team on his back and carry them to the second round.

I think it has but only because of the guys he's going up against in FA. Not improving his status here is a failure IMO. If he can prove he is leader and can lead a team he will surely gain a max contract, even if he just beat the Bucks quicker and had the same stats his stock would have stayed the same or gone up. The fact that series went 7 games without Bogut has to be concerning to GM's who were planning on picking him up to be the franchise player of their team.
