The NHL Draft is tonight and gets underway in a couple of hours.

How do you think the top 5 goes? Does Edmonton go with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins? Or do they go with Adam Larsson to add a defensive prospect to all of their offensive ones?

Unfortunately, I have to work tonight so I won't see any of the 1st round. Should be a fun night, though.

The NHL Draft is so much more fun than the NBA Draft. Too bad the four-lettered network would never let most Americans realize this!

And, normally I would say to go for the best player available and not organizational need when you have the top pick, but they'd have a very hard time passing on Larsson I think.

I actually think Larsson is the best player available anyways, in addition to fitting organizational needs. Don't get me wrong, RNH has a lot of talent and a great hockey sense, but I just don't think he is going to be the player that they project him to be in the NHL. Give me the smooth skating, two way, 6'2 205 pound defenseman over the 5'9, 160 pound playmaking center anyday of the week.

I can certainly be wrong about RNH and I'm not saying he is going to be a bum or anything like that, but I don't see him as a 1st line, franchise calibre center like so many people are trying to hype him up to be.

It is just hitting me, really.

COUTURIER!!!

To the Canadian folk...what is the talk up there about why he fell to 8?

I'm shocked to see Larsson fall to 4 and Courturier fall to 8. Great value at those spots for the Devils and Flyers respectively as both were in consideration for the number 1 pick at one point in time this season. It might make you wonder why they fell (more so Couturier than Larsson as he didn't really fall that far) but I still think that the two of them could easily become two of the better players in this draft, if not the two best players.
