EastCoastNiner Posted August 9, 2011 Report Share Posted August 9, 2011 I'm not big on the Hicks and Hillis picks, and I didn't even notice the Gates pick before. My comment was more of a retaliatory comment than anything, but there are a few reasons not to like the picks, just like there are reasons not to like mine. I'm banking on some sleepers. I don't like Nicks that high because the Giants have two other very good WR's (if Smith comes back), and that will certainly take away some yards, receptions, and TD's. I am not sold on Hillis at all. I just plain don't see the skill there. I'm surprised at Gates going that high, unless you were picking him because you plan on using two TE's on your roster at the same time. I think he's on the downswing. He's like a second wideout, and if he can stay healthy, he's a ridiculous weapon. Nicks missed 3 games last year and still finished 7th in WR points, with Smith and Manningham alongside him. Smith is likely to start the year on PUP, and Boss is gone, meaning possibly more targets for Hakeem. I think they were both solid picks. Hillis I'm not high on. Wore down at the end of last season, and I'm not sure he'll be refreshed enough in 2011 to be as effective as he was last season. Dude took a beating. Conditioning wise he is good, quickness wise he is weak (reason why he failed) We are going a bit more towards a two back system but with sproles gone I think he will get alot more looks/chances.
