NEW YORK – The NBA lockout hasn't stopped the ongoing construction of the Nets' future home in Brooklyn. It's scheduled to open in time for the 2012-13 season, but New Jersey will be the Nets' part-time home during at least that campaign.

The Barclays Center will have a practice court, but the Nets haven't decided where their practice facility and offices will be yet. During a tour of the arena site Wednesday, general manager Billy King said many factors will go into where the Nets build their new headquarters, and until they do they will continue to practice in East Rutherford.

But the Nets won't play games in New Jersey after this season – presuming there is one — which may make it difficult to draw fans to Prudential Center. But King said the goal is to give New Jersey fans a reason to cheer and try to entice some of them to come to Brooklyn.

"The way I'm approaching it is have a great season and build as much excitement, win as many games as possible so that fans are enjoying the team," King said. "It's not like the team is leaving and going to San Diego. It's going to be in the area. The fans might not be able to get to every game but they still can get here. Mass transit is great. I did it [Wednesday]."
