Cool! Didn't even know such cup existed.. Props though, Germany is always a tough opponent!

It's probably the most well-know tournament outside of the FIFA Women's World Cup and Olympic Soccer.

In USMNT news, it was officially announced today that the USMNT will be facing Belgium in a friendly on May 29th in Cleveland. I imagine Belgium will be bringing their A squad since they have a World Cup qualifier the following week.

I don't follow female soccer so I only knew of the FIFA WC and Olympics. ;)

Costa Rica asks FIFA for replay of US match

SAN JOSE, Costa Rica (AP) -- Costa Rica is asking soccer's governing body for a replay of Friday's World Cup qualifier against the United States, won 1-0 by the Americans during a snowstorm in Commerce City, Colo.

The Costa Rican federation said the climatic conditions threatened the physical integrity of the players, left the sidelines and markings on the field largely not visible and led to the entry onto the field of snow-clearing personnel, which it said was not permitted.

The federation also argued that ''ball movement became impossible given the quantity of snow on the field'' and called on FIFA to punish the match officials who allowed the game to proceed.

Chances of anything happen are close to impossible considering the referee made the final decision to play on.

Jermaine Jones will be out for the qualifier on Tuesday due to an ankle injury, which opens the door for Maurice Edu most likely.

Tuesday can't come fast enough.

FIFA has confirmed that Costa Rica's 1-0 World Cup qualifying loss against United States will stand, despite the former's appeal for a replay due to the adverse weather conditions the game was played in.

Sorry, Costa Rica.
