This season the Clippers can set a new franchise record for best Regular-Season Winning Percentage:

2005–06 Pacific 2nd 47-35 (.573)

Best Regular-Season Record in Franchise History:

49 -33 (.598) as the Buffalo BRAVES (1974–'75)

So far the 2011-'12 L.A. Clippers regular season record stands at 14 -7 (.667). If they win 26 more games (finish with a 40-26 record), will reach the .610 mark -- which would be the equivalent Winning Pct. of a 50-32 season.

ESPN Research Notes:

  •
  • The Clippers improve to 15-7, their best start since the 1974-'75 season when they started 16-6. It's the Clippers first win in Orlando since February 1st, 2006 (Cassell era).
  • 'Lob City' won their 4th straight road game, which is tied for their longest road winning streak since they moved to Los Angeles. Their last 4-game road winning streak spanned over 2 seasons - April 12th, 2007 to Nov. 7th, '07.
The all-time franchise record is 5 straight wins back in November of 1973, when they were the Buffalo Braves.

ESPN's John Hollinger listed his 2011-'12 NBA Playoff Odds and lists Clippers' projected record as 40-26 (with best possible at 54-12 and worst possible at 25-41). According to him, that record would get the Clippers a No. 3 berth and a series vs Denver or Portland. The Lob Angeles Clippers are 8 games above .500 after roughly 1/3 of the season. They need to finish at +14 at the end of the season. Some of the upcoming games:

3 vs NOH (2H, 1A)

4 vs PHX (2H, 2A)

3 vs GSW (2H, 1A)

3 vs SAC (1H, 2A)

And games against weak East opponents: @ CHA, WSH, @ NJ, and DET

That's 18 games vs weaker opponents. The Clipset should go like 13-5 in those games (worst case). That leaves 12 more wins to come from the rest of the 25 games. Of those games Lob Angeles has 15 vs relatively good teams:

2 vs POR (1H, 1A)

1 vs UTA

2 vs DEN (1H, 1A)

3 vs MIN (1H, 2A)

2 vs ATL (1H, 1A)

2 vs HOU (1H, 1A)

2 vs MEM (1H, 1A)

1 vs IND (1A)

1 vs NYK (1A)

The Clippers set a new record for the best regular season in franchise history. Even if they lose the Season's Finale, they are guaranteed a minimum winning % of .606 – the previous best regular-season % was .598 back in 1974/75:

49 -33 (.598) as the Buffalo BRAVES (1974–'75)

By the way, if the Clippers could secure the 4th playoff spot, and win homecourt advantage in the First Round, it would be for the first time ever!
