Bolt Wants World Record Today

Bolt, who successfully defended his 100 and 200 metre Olympic titles, was speaking on live video streaming website Ustream.

 

The current men’s world record stands at 37.04 seconds set by the Jamaican team at the 2011 World Championships in Daegu, South Korea.

 

Today will be the final day of competition for Jamaica.

 

Jamaica will also compete in the women’s 4x400 metre relay final at 2:25 p.m.

 

The country enters the day with 10 medals, three gold, four silver and three bronze, and is on course to surpass its best medal haul.

 

Jamaica won a historic 11 medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
