whats the deal? i know he has injury problems but he has played a majority of the 10-11 and 11-12 seasons...why are teams passing up on him....

im out of the loop on this, but was he not productive or something when he came off the bench? i mean he just turned 33 in may, i know he could still be a valuable asset to any team

Confirming that tweet - he's already signed:

Tracy McGrady signs contract to play in China

Tracy McGrady has signed a one-year contract with Qingdao of the Chinese Basketball Association, a source told Yahoo! Sports.

Tracy McGrady averaged 5.3 points and 16 minutes a game last season with the Hawks. (Getty Images)McGrady, a seven-time All-Star, couldn't secure a guaranteed NBA contract for this season and decided against trying to make a roster in training camp.

McGrady, 33, completed the deal on Tuesday and is expected to leave for China within the next seven to 10 days, sources said. McGrady's long-time partnership with former Houston Rockets center Yao Ming made McGrady a popular player in China, and he'll be afforded star status there.

Nah he really wasnt very productive coming off the bench , and It has come out that he isnt the best locker room guy either when things aint going so great. Why bother with a washed up player.

And im sure China is paying him more than any NBA team would.

He's still a solid player in spot minutes, but the issue is he needs the ball in his hands. He isn't the sparkplug scorer/shooter that everyone thinks he can be, including the Hawks last year. He hasn't been that player since like 04-05. His primary asset is his playmaking, specifically out of the PnR. He was quite effective on the Pistons as starting PG, and I feel using him as a primary playmaker off the bench on a contender he could do some damage.

But, with his history, both with injuries and his attitude make that impossible. Extremely sad to see this considering he's my all-time favorite player.
