MLB HOF Selections (Lackthereof)

The BBWAA is a complete joke. My favorite part is the guy who voted for Aaron Sele but refused to have his ballot made public.

I should have clarified that I'm more talking about het BBWAA and not the MLB as a whole. I'm of the belief that if a player was HOF worthy before using illegal substances, they should still be inducted.

Yes. And steroids are much less of an injustice to the game than racial segregation was. The white players from the first half of the 20th century had a much bigger competitive advantage because of all the awesome black and Latino players who were not allowed to play in the Majors.

Also sucks because I guarantee you that a lot of these writers who think they are doing the game a service by keeping steroid guys out are the same ones who were fellating Bonds and McGwire and Sosa in their writing 15 years ago instead of bringing attention to the steroid issue sooner. Hypocrites.

Just got home and saw no one was voted in. It's almost laughable...but did you guys really expect any of them to land a spot this year? I wouldn't have bet against Barry Bonds, though...figured if any of the controversial picks would get in, it would be him simply because of the run he had. Not even close, though.

There is so much bickering amongst the writers who get to vote, so no, not surprised at all.75% of the vote is required to get in, and since there is so much disagreement I had a feeling nobody would get to that number

While I personally would vote for them all (Bonds, Clemems, etc) I can understand why some don't want those guys in. Absolutely no excuse for keeping out Bagwell, Biggio, Piazza, and Raines though. So sad.

But for a museum that honors known racists and criminals already, they should honestly all be in.
