@RealSkipBayless: As I've reported from reliable source, Bynum's knees are degenerative and won't get better. Crusher for Sixers.

This is huge. Likely the end of his career.

Guys...relax. Lol. The "may never play again" thing, while it MAY be true, is just speculation by RD.  This situation sucks, but there isn't really anything new being reported here.

But yes, obviously, as a Sixers fan, this season has been absolute hell. I really hope all the Laker fans are capable of sitting back and realizing that, as rough as this year has been for you, it could always be worse. The Sixers situation is downright horrible.

(For the record, I still fully support offering Bynum a 2 or 3 year deal. Whatever it takes to get him back here)

"Bynum's knees are degenerative and won't get better" sounds like its unlikely he'll play again to me.

Skip Bayless is a professional troll, so I am remaining skeptical. There has been absolutely no news from any worthwhile sources in the past few days, other than the rumor that he may have surgery soon, which has been floating around for a while and is gaining traction now with the Sixers season all but finished.

When Woj, Bucher, etc, or any of the local beat guys who are around the team every day have something to say, then I will listen.

Didn't even read that the tweet was from Skip. That might change things a bit. We'll see what happened this offseason.

There were other tweets, I just pulled the one from Skip...his wasn't even the first.

And yes, pure speculation that he's done. I'm sure he's not, but when I say that his career is over, you can almost guarantee that his career as an all-star player is done, if this is the case.

I mean, Greg Oden may play another 20 games or so next season, who knows.

Really? You'd go three years?

I'd go three years, yeah. Am I insane? Probably.

I guess it's just all of my frustration of watching this team for the last decade. They need a star player in the worst way. As crazy as it sounds, I think risking it on Bynum is probably their highest percentage play. Unless they tank for Wiggins next year, which probably has a 0% chance of happening.

Just sick of investing so much time and money into a team that has a 0% chance of winning anything meaningful. Even last year. One game away from the conference finals, but they still had absolutely no hope of getting past Miami or OKC with that roster. So that's why I am willing to try something with such high disaster potential. Just for that tiny chance that he is healthy and makes the Sixers relevant, lol.

But obviously, if we do find out for sure that something is significantly worse with Bynum than we know already, this is all subject to change. And I figure the Sixers doctors will probably know as well as anyone.

“Being healthy is more important than everything else,” Bynum said. “If I am healthy, I'll get a deal. I have to be able to play and I need to get to the point where I'm healthy to play.”
