Twenty-three-year-old Nathan Mathers will appear this morning in district court in Shelby Township for sentencing. He faces a fine of up to $1,000, possible community service and up to a year in jail.

Mathers agreed last month to plead guilty to a charge of operating while impaired, second offense.

Police say the Clinton Township man was pulled over April 15 in Macomb Township. Police say his blood-alcohol level was about 0.16%, twice the legal limit.

Nathan Mathers, who raps as Nate Kane, is the brother of Marshall Mathers, better known as Eminem.

A message seeking comment was left Tuesday for defense attorney Cecil St. Pierre.
