  1. Doc said this all last year and it never happened. As a result, Pierce played like he was 38 sans a few games. We'll see.
  2. Not understanding Dumars lately. Prince is extremely overrated and I bet Pistons fans would agree. When's the last time you've seen him lock down someone after 2004? When's the last time you've seen him perform well when his team needed him to? Boozer is so much more talented than Prince, it isn't even close. Even while having a potential problem position wise with CV/Boozer, you have to take a deal as lop-sided as that one. Rip could fetch them a good center to play along side Boozer.
  3. I haven't watched him aside from playing against the Celtics, but I never got the impression that he was some horrible, black hole type of player. It's as if one person said it and everyone else jumped on board. My only real gripe with him is that he shoots too many jumpers, especially since he has shown something resembling a low post game when I've watched him. I think he just needs to go to the right team. He only looks bad because he's been trying to lead young/bad teams. He would be good as a 3rd or maybe even 2nd guy on a team of veterans and if Thabeet's defense translates to the NBA, Randolph might make an impact on that Grizzlies team.
  4. No, Sheed won't start. It makes no sense to bring a guy like Perk off the bench. He would be better served playing with the starters in order to mask his scoring deficiencies. Anyone calling him a scrub simply doesn't watch the Celtics and only follows stats. He is just as important to our defense as KG is.
  5. Same difference. No point guard is stopping an opposing guard every time down the floor. It's just not possible. Rondo probably prevents opposing guards from getting into the late/getting an easy shot up better than any other 1 though. I'm starting to wonder if you just hate Rondo? Because it's clear you don't watch him. If so, cool, we all have the NBA players that we don't like.
  6. He's not a good defender because he gets torched from time to time? Lol. It is not easy for point guards to defend each other. Most of these guys are quick, but not quick enough laterally to keep up with a point guard who is (most likely) fast as hell. How they recover after initially getting burned is most important and I'm pretty sure Rondo is one of the best in that sense.
  7. Sorry kind of late on this I read it. It was easy for me to get the year you were referring to mixed up, since you tried to actually tell me that Rondo didn't do anything when he was our best player damn near all season, let alone in the playoffs. Because of that, I assumed you meant our championship year right away. My mistake. We agree to disagree. Pierce is our best offensive player and that's where it stops. Again, Rondo manages future hall of famers while chipping in his own efficient scoring. He does exactly what a championship team needs him to do at age 23. That's a leader. Never, ever, have I saw someone mention that Chris Paul is the best defender at the 1 spot. The only reasonable explanation to me was that you thinking about the steals he gets. Sorry brah, Rondo is clearly a better defender than Paul
  8. What if I think Wade is the best shooting guard in the league?
  9. http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/basketball/celtics/view/20090630house_to_stay_with_celtics/ House will stay with us. Nice.
  10. Good news for us. Marbury played surprisingly good defense on 2 guards last season. The only gripe I had with him was his shot being so horrible, but I guess not playing for damn near 2 years will do that to you. If he gets that shot back this off-season, he'll be amazing off the bench for us.
  11. Wade is better than Carmelo, but Melo can do almost everything you listed for Wade. Melo is easily a better shooter, whether we are talking mid range, 3PT or FT. Melo has always been able to slash and he stepped up his play making and defense a lot this past year, though Wade is better than him at all of that. Let us not sell Melo short to big up Wade. Carmelo is an elite player himself.
  12. House was pretty damn good for us this year. It's gonna hurt a bit to lose him
  13. They say this about every player who is a bit off the wall and yet chemistry is never a problem. Hmm... Why won't he fit in? We have been dying for big man depth all season long. Perkins doesn't have a true back up right now and both Powe and Davis are extremely undersized. Sheed, although washed up, will provide better defense and rebounding than those two and will surely get more minutes than either Powe or Davis. I don't even have to mention the extra spacing he'd give Pierce and Rondo.
  14. Tanguay should be punched if this isn't true. I'm willing to admit that 'Sheed is washed up, but would be damn amazing off the bench for us.
