  1. I just hope we get a legit Center Nene, Chandler, or even De Jordan.
  2. Yea I read some where that both D-Mo and Parsons have been playing well. I just hope D-Mo suites up this season man...
  3. Top Needs C SF Top 1) Nene C: Is the ideal fit here well rounded C 2) Tyson Chandler C: Defensive minded team player who will a need, starting C 3) DeAndre Jordan C: Athletic C who might want to return to his hometown 4) Caron Butler SF/SG: All Star Caliber SF 6) Marc Gasol: same as Nene 5) Luc Mbah a Moute SF: Defensive SF who would fit great with Rockets Alternatives 1) Jeff Green SF: Starting SF option 2)Jason Kapono: SF Can shoot the light out 3) Arron Afallo SG: He can just flat out play no need make K Mart expendable 4) Kyrylo Fesenko C: Young C with some skills if don't get one of top guys 5) Dexter Pittman C: He is a big mother I look for the Rockets to sign around 2-3 Free Agents
  4. Atlanta Hawks #48 Keith Benson C/PF: Benson is a good value for the pick here he is long with good skill that may develop into a solid big. No harm in selecting Benson here. C Boston Celtics #27 JaJuan Johnson PF/C #55 E’twan Moore G: Johnson is a good big man who will do the dirty work and is a guy I see breaking into the Celtics rotation. As for Moore he is a solid Guard who will find a spot on the roster. B- Charlotte Bobcats: # 7 Bismack Biyombo PF/C # 9 Kemba Walker G added Corey Maggette G/F: Biyombo is a big, long, and athletic guy who was drafted to become a defensive ace inside. That has yet to be seen and his offensive game is nonexistent at the moment for those reasons I cannot warrant picking Biyombo as high as he was taken. Walker is a tenacious player who has a Tebow esque feel to his game meaning he just wins and has intangibles that cannot be measured. . He is not a prolific shooter though he can score it and he is not a true PG in the eyes of most scouts. He will also struggle when defending bigger Guards. Walker leading UConn to a National Championship elevated his stock and was a big reason for his high value. Maggette is a veteran wing who has been around and at times is a good player. B Chicago Bulls #23 Nikola Mirotic F #30 Jimmy Butler F/G: The Bulls will return a bulk of the roster and are looking for a championship run this season. That being said it is easy to see why they took Mirotic a high potential guy who can stay and develop overseas. Butler fit the Bull fast paced offense and he is also a capable defender he won’t play early, but he may crack the back end of the rotation down the line. B- Cleveland Cavaliers #1 Kyrie Irving PG #4 Tristan Thompson PF #54 Millan MacVan PF: The Cavs have started the rebuilding process with the first corner stone being Kyrie Irving and Tristan Thompson. Irving will be a solid PG and leader for this young team baring any serious injuries. Thompson has the ability to be a really good player he does the little things well and is an intelligent player. Macvan will player overseas for a few season before coming over to the States, but he could be a valuable asset in the future. I don’t see a perennial All Star in Irving or Thompson; however I do feel that they are capable starters that you can build around. B- Dallas Mavericks: Add Rudy Fernandez SG Add Petteri Koponen F: The addition of Rudy Fernandez a good player who fits the Mavs scheme was a great move. In a weak class Fernandez is a proven player that adds depth to an already deep team. Fernandez will battle it out for the starting SG spot this season and the defending champs just got better. A- Denver Nuggets #22 Kenneth Faried PF/C # 26 Jordan Hamilton SF #56 Chukwudiebere Maduabum Add Andre Miller PG: The Nuggets dealt Carmelo Antohny last year at his wish and in return became one of the deepest franchises. They don’t have a super star, but they do have a plethora of young talent and assets. Farried will be added to that mix as they will likely lose Nene. Faried is a warrior in the Ben Wallace mold. Hamilton will be looked on to replace some of the scoring that existed when Wilson Chandler and J.R. Smith committed to playing overseas. Chu Chu Maduabum will be given time to develop. Andre Miller brings a veteran leader to a young team. A- Detroit Pistons: #8 Brandon Knight PG #33 Kyle Singler #52 Vernon Macklin F/C: Brandon Knight is the key to this draft class as he will be called on to carry a franchise in need of new fresh faces to build around. I see Knight become a very good starting PG in this league. Singler has the skill to contribute, but it looks like he will play overseas for a while longer. I see Mackling sticking to an NBA roster as well. B+ Golden State Warriors: #11 Klay Thompson SG #38 Jeremy Tyler C/F #44 Charles Jenkins G: Thompson was a good pick he is a kid who can come in and find a niche that also allows you to look into trading either Monta Ellis or Steph Curry. Jeremy Tyler has an NBA body and skill set, however his motor and work eithic have always been questioned. Charles Jenkins is a combo guard who could be a poor man’s Ben Gordon. A- Houston Rockets #14 Marcus Morris F #20 Donatas Montiejunas F/C # 38 Chandler Parsons Added Johnny Flynn PG: The Rockets are still a middle of the road team with a lot of young assets and they added a few more good ones in this year’s draft with Marcus Morris Donatas Montiejunas, Chandler Parsons and Johnny Flynn. Morris will have to make the transition from PF to SF which will hamper his development a bit. Montiejunas is a player with huge upside and the only questions are if and when he will deliver. Parson is a role player and they added Flynn in a draft day trade. Flynn has spurts where he looks good. He has to become a consistent player. B+ Indiana Pacer: Added George Hill G: Hill is a very good combo guard who has the ability to become a starter, but he is best suited coming off the bench as a combo guard. B LA Clippers #37 Trey Thompkins F/C #47 Travis Leslie F/G: A very good draft for where they where selecting. Thompkins is a polished big man and Leslie is a freak athlete with the potential to become a shut down defender. B LA Lakers #41 Darius Morris # 46 Andrew Goudelock #58 Ater Majok: They brought in a defensive minded big PG in Morris and a pure shooter in Goudelock. Both of whom could find roles on this veteran team. Majok is a project type player. Good draft for value. B- Memphis #49 Josh Selby G: A combo guard with a questionable work ethic and attitude. Selby has a lot of skills, but no natural position. D+ Miami #28 Norris Cole PG: Cole could be a special PG. The Heat got him in the late first round and he could be the piece they were missing last season. C Milwaukee #19 Tobias Harris and #40 Jon Leuer, Added Stephen Jackson, Beno Udrih, Shaun Livingston. Harris is a young versatile player who adds depth to the Bucks roster. Leuer is a big guy who will try to make the roster. Stephen Jackson, Udrih and Livingston were added on draft night and are all expected to make the roster. Jackson will be called on to score and Livingston and Udrih will fight for backup PG spot. B- Minnesota #2 Derrick Williams PF #43 Malcolm Lee G: Derrick Williams is a good player who will likely end up being a PF, but will try to play some SF this season. Lee is a solid guard who personally I don’t see him developing into a NBA starter, but he can make the roster and contribute. B- New Jersey #25 Marshon Brooks SG #36 Jordan Williams C/F: People will think I am crazy, but I an sold on Brooks making it as a scorer at the SG position. Weather he is a starter or offensive spark off the bench a la Jordan Crawford is the question. Jordan Williams is a big who may actually pan out and be a contributor to this team. B New Orleans No Picks New York #17 Iman Shumpert #45 Josh Harrelson PF: Shumpert was a shocking pick this high to me, but to each his on and Harrelson is even more mind boggling. Harrelson could develop into that nasty front court player that comes off the bench and defends and rebounds without complaining. Shumpert is a good player, but on the value of the pick I am not sold yet. C- Oklahoma City #24 Reggie Jackson: Jackson add more depth to a deep young team. Jackson has all the makings of capable NBA PG. B- Orlando #32 Justin Harper PF #53 DeAndre Liggins F/G: Going off value these two picks are very good. Harper has a niche as a stretch PF and Liggins is an freakish athlete with good skills who could develop into a really good player. I see both players in the Magic’s rotation at some point. B Philadelphia #16 Nikola Vucevic PF/C and #50 Lavoy Allen PF: Vucevic was a good pick for them he fit a team need. Lavoy Allen will battle for a roster spot. C Phoenix #13 Markief Morris: Morris will be a decent PF when he is called. The Suns need to blow it up and start the rebuilding process. Morris can be a piece of that process. C Portland Picks: # 21 Nolan Smith G #51 Jon Diebler #57 Tanguy Ngombo Added Raymond Felton PG: Key to this grade is the addition of Ray Felton. Felton will be the Blazers starting PG for the foreseeable future. Smith could end up being his back up. Deibler is a deep assassin who may find a roster spot for that reason only. Ngombo is an undersized SF. B- Sacramento #10 Jimmer Fredette, # 35 Tyler Honeycutt #60 Isaiah Thomas,Added John Salmons: I am a Fredette fan and I think he can be an NBA PG. I also like Honeycutt, but I don’t think he is NBA ready. Thomas is a nice value pick for where he was selected. The addition of Salmons helps he is a immediate starter for the young Kings. B- San Antonio # 15 Kawhi Leonard SF#29 Cory Joseph G # 42 Davis Bertans F # 59 Adam Hanga G: I was Leonard fan and wished the Rockets would have picked him. He can come in and help out defensively immediately. Leonard can also finish above the rim and is a good rebounder. Joseph is a few years away from being a factor. Bertans is an intriguing pick and is a very good asset. He has a serious offensive game. Hanga is a guy to watch in the future if he develops lot of assets. B Toronto #5 Jonas Valanciunas C: Is Valanciunas the guy they need to control the paint? He will allow Bargnani to play his natural position, PF. I don’t see him starting day one, but look for him to play sooner than later if he is in America. C Utah #3 Enes Kanter C/F #12 Alec Burk SG: Kanter was the most polished player in the draft in my eyes as far as the bigs go. I think he will start from day one and be a factor. Burks will battle for starting job with Raja Bell at SG. Burks is a slasher who needs to improve shooting to be a serious SG threat. If Kanter delivers the goods this will be a huge lift for Jazz. B+ Washington #6 Jan Veseley F #18 Chris Singleton SF #34 Shelvin Mack PG: I think they said “heck with it” and took the best available in their eyes. Veseley is a freaky athlete who can finish in side and fits this team’s tempo and scheme to the T. His natural fit is at PF. Singleton is another niche player I was high on. I weaker draft classes I like to find guys with a niche who can play do to the fact they do something well. They may not be a super star, but they have that skill that sets them apart. Singleton is a defender who can run the floor and finish above rim with John Wall running the show. Mack was a good value pick and will likely be Wall’s back up. B+
  5. Yea he has potential but all potential means is your could be good, but your not good yet. I hope he can grows this year and performs on a more consistent basis. I honestly think he has a higher skill set then Patterson, but I like Patterson's effort when he is on the court and he will probably reach his full potential due to his work ethic and attitude.
  6. He grew on me a little last year, but he just seems lost at times and he doesn't do the little things that make players better Chuck is the master of the lil things
  7. I agree Chuck is a banger who competes and is a great team player.
  8. The move could work I think. Boozer when hot is a better player then Scola. Scola is the more consistant of the two so pick your poison. Boozer is being judged for one bad year after beeing a pretty good player before that. I think this will be a multiple player deal sending Scola and either Courtney Lee, who rumors also say the Bulls are interested in, Chase Budinger, or Terrence Williams in return the Rockets would get Carlos Boozer who I use to enjoy watching and either C Omir Asik, Taj Gibson, or Jimmy Butler. I ready for Houston to Rock the Boat so.......
  9. Top FA: 1) Nene: Is the true starting C that the Rockets desperately need. With Nene in Houston the Rockets have a legit shot to compete for a playoff spot and he would be a great building block for the new coaching regime in Houston. Nene, Kevin Martin and Kyle Lowry are 3 very solid player throw in a couple of the Rockets young talented guys who knows what could happen. Nene is the ideal sign for the Rockets 2011-2012 FA class. 2) Caron Butler SF : The Rockets started Chase Budinger at SF for a large part of last season and let’s face it he is a solid SF, but he is not a NBA starter. Caron Butler was a very big piece of the Mavs success last season despite not playing in the Finals when his Mavericks won the Championship. Butler is an all-star caliber SF and when healthy can be a very productive player all over the court. I don’t see the Rockets going after him but I wish they would. He would be without question one of the top two players on the roster. 3) Marc Gosol: A highly unlikely scenario here but another C option for the Rockets to pursue is Marc Gosol who came into his on last season with the Grizzlies and proved to be a lethal scorer inside in the playoffs. Gosol would step into the starting C role nicely for the Rockets, however he is likely to sign back with the Grizzlies. 4) David West PF: The fourth highest rated FA on my Rockets list graded by skill/team need and potential is PF David West. West has been an All-Star PF for the Hornets in the past and has the ability to fill it up offensively and he is a very good defender. Getting west makes Louis Scola expendable. West is just an all-around PF that does a lot when he is healthy as he has battle threw some injuries in his career. He would be a nice fit for the Rockets even though they already have a crowded PF rotation. 5) De Jordan: De Jordan’s hometown is Houston where he has reportedly said he would not mine playing according to some sources. I am a huge fan of this guy and I have been waiting for him to get his shot as a full time starter. This is most likely the way the Rockets will go if they can’t get Nene. Jordan is a high energy guy who can defend the basket, rebound and finish above the rim he is a young guy who would give the Rockets that length they need inside defensively and a guy who can get you around 10- 15 PPG and 9-12 RPG. I would be content if the Rockets make a move for him. 6) Jason Richardson: Richardson does not fit a team need; he is a natural SG, however he can play some SF and he is a veteran guy who could come and help groom and lead this young team. Richardson has lost a step, but he is still a capable defender who can finish inside and hit the open shots. Whoever signs Richardson is going to get a good veteran player. 7) Tyson Chandler: He is a high energy defensive minded player that the Rockets need, but will most likely not get. Chandler will most likely end up back in Dallas. He is a team guy with a great attitue and is the type of player that all coaches love to have on their team. 8) Arron Affalo: Despite not filling a need Affalo is a great defender and scorer who will break out this seaon where ever he lands up. Hemay be the still of this years FA class. 9) Thadeus Young: A SF who has potential and has never really showed his full skill set he fills a need, starting SF and he is a capalbe defender wich was one of the Rockets weaknesses on the perimeter. 10) Jeff Green: Anohter SF who is looking to break out in the very near future..... Rockets Roster C Chuck Hayes: The teams starting C at 6"6 (with shoes) has the heart of a lion, but is not supper athletic and doesn't have a great skill set. He is just a gritty guy who can defend and rebound when called on and is best suited to come off the bench. He has surpassed everyones expectaions of him and has played his way into the hearts of Rockets fans and would be one hell of a role palyer. PF Lousi Scola: He is a crafty veteran who make plays for the Rockets, however he is taking minutes from Pattrick Patterson who may be able to step up and be that next building block for the Rockets. Scola is a good player, but he is not going to carry a team or develop any more what you see is what you get...a solid PF. May be traded durring season. SF Chase Budinger: Called on to start last season and did an ok job, however he is not an everyday starter at the NBA level. He can't defend and he has trouble creating his on shot a times. He a solid player,I just don't like him as a starter. He is a young asset that mey be involved in a trade. SG Kevin Martin: Can fill it up form all over the court....thats about it he is non existant on D and does not set up his team mates as well as most top notch SG who score like him can. You can build around him if you put the right peices togeather. Some people say he is tradeable depending on who they sign I don't see that. the Rockets need his scoring ability to stay in games because there overall team D is not very good they rely to heavily on their offense in the pass and I think the new coach regime is going to be more defensive minded. PG Kyle Lowry: Has developed into a very good PG. I have to addmit I doubted him at first, but he has proved me wrong and then some. He doesn't do anything execpetional he just does alot of things very well. He can defend at a high level, he can hit the open shots he can create for his team mates and ,most importantly he can lead wich this young team needs, the need a leader and look for Lowry to do that this season. SG Courtney Lee: Was a starter for the Magic and the Nets befor arriving in Houston. I think his confidence has been shot a bit, but with the new coaching staff and a fresh start he will turn back to his old ways. He can defend on the perimiter and kock down 3's. He would start for alot of teams in the league. Some people may argue that he should start for the Rockets. There is talk that he may be part in a trade that would send him to the Bulls or back to the Magic. I like Lee's game and wish we could find away to get him on the floor more. PF Patrick Patterson: He could be the future for the Rockets he is a high character guy with a well rounded game and great upside. He does the little things that don't get recongnised in the press very similar to a Louis Scola only he is years younger and more athletic. I am not saying he is ready yet, but I wouldn't hesitate to give him a shot. I look for him to be the Rockets breakout player this year similar to Lowry last season and make his way into the starting lineup. SF Terrence Williams: I liked him in college and with the Nets. I don't know what happened once he reached Houston, but he has been in a rutt since it seems like day one. I don' know if it was him, the system, or the coaches, but I do know a new coaching staff and a fresh slate is exaclty what T-Will needed. He is an athletic player who was known in college for his unselfish play and his ability to create for others. He rebounds well and is a good defender when he wants to be. He is a bit inconsitant at times and he is a streaky shooter. With the mind set of McHale I wouldn't be shocked to see him log in more minutes and maybe even crack the starting line up. He is another asset that could be involved in a trade. C/F Jordan Hill: Is another young asset with huge upside and he has a lot of game when he is motivated. Hill gives the impression that he is disinterested in the game around at times and at other times he wreaks havoc in the blocks. If he can find some consistency he could be a valuable player for the Rockets. Another young talent that trade talk is circulating. PG Johnny Flynn: Was a first round pick by the T-Wolves who showed flashes of his talents early in his rookie season, but has not delivered consitant play over his short career. This will be his first season with the Rockets and I look for him to battle with Dragic for the 2nd PG spot in the rotation. One of the '09 boys including Terrence Williams, and Chase BUdinger. Flynn is a super quick athletic PG with good defensive skills and the ability to create off the dribble. He needs to Improve his shooting and cut buck on the turnovers. Flynn is still young and has time to develop into a solid PG. G Goran Dagic: He is a high motor guy who plays with a ton of energy. He has a good shot, but his handles are suspect at times and he occasionlly looks lost at PG. I think his skill set is better suited to play SG. That being said he a solid back up PG with good vision who learned alot under Steve Nash in Phenix. He is a prospect with some good potential who may find his way in a trade as well. F Marcus Morris: The first of two first round picks made by the Rockets in this years draft. Morris is a 6"9 natural PF who is to small to play PF in the NBA so he will have to transition to SF where he can develop into a pretty good player. Personally I am not a huge Morris guy. I liked Kawhi Leonard and Chris Singleton more as SF out of college. I liked their defensive play and elite athleticism, but I hope the Rockets are smarter then me and Morris develops into a solid SF down the road. Don't get me wrong I know he can has got a lil game, but he has no niche. Leonard and Singleton would have stepped in and had a niche.I think his D is suspect and his ability to guard more athletic SF will be tested. Morris's mid range game is where he will make his living offensively and he has good size for a SF. I look forward to seeing what the rookies got. F/C Danatas Montiejunas: I am huge Montiejunas fan! I have watched a lot of his games and high lights and I liked what I saw. He compres favorably to Dirk and Andrei Bangarni, but he also compares to Nikoloz Tskitishvili and Darko Milicic .So boom or bust? He has a smooth stroke form the outside and he has good ball skills and court vision for a 7Ft kid. He is a little thin and needs to bulk up to play with most C in the NBA. He will likely end up a stretch PF.I can see him developing into an All-Star type player in the future. I expect big things from the Lithuanian. Hope he joins the Rockets sooner rarther than latter. C Hasheem Thabeet: Number one over all pick who is a bust in the making. Part of me want the Rockets to give him a chance to get more minutes. The other part of me want the Rockets to use the amenesty clause to waive him and his huge contract. He could be a defensive ace, but he is uch a liability on offense that the cons out way his pros. SF Chandler Parsons: He doesn’t do anything great, but he competes on every play and he does a lot of things well. He has a decent stroke from the outside and a good offensive game. He can create for others and crash the boards. He has a long frame at 6”10 with shoes and decent quickness. His down fall will be his ability to defend on this level. He can come off the bench in the future and give you decent minute s as he does a little of everything. PF Marqus Blakely: Developmental SF Marcus Cousin:Developmental F MIke Harris:Developmental
  10. 1. I agree with you 100% I hope we sign a big I mean I love what Chuck does at 6"6 I been a fan of him since college but is a role player not a starting Center. If we dont get De Jordan or maybe Nene then we gotta blow it up and rock da boat! 2. Yea I recon we gone be right around .500 either 8th seed or 12-14 lotto picks. 3. I hope Montiejunus joins the Rockets. I think he has potential to be verry good for us in the future and I agree with you on parsons and Morris though I suspect Morris to struggle a bit at first. 4. I really like T.Williams he was a solid player when he was with the Nets and Flynn and Thabbet both have good potential, but I look for Patterson to have a serious breakout year and be the starting PF of the future. If Courtney Lee could pick his game up this year that would be a nice lift to. 5. I would get Patterson as many minutes as possible and try to get Lee more minutes some how. Rotation C Chuck Hayes PF Louis Scola SF Terence Williams SG Kevin Martin PG Kyle Lowry 6th Pat Patterson 7th Courtney Lee 8th Marcus Morris 9th Chase Budinger 10th Jordan Hill 11th Johny Flynn 12th Gorran Dagic
  11. If Jordan Hill is great I must be blind because I just don't see it he is very average at best......
  12. I wish we would get either of the 2 previously mentioned players I like Nene and I think Jordan is going to be a very solid big in the league. I would be stoked if the Rockets picked up one of them. We have been mediocre for a while now, but I think it is time to Rock to boat and makes some moves Adleman parting ways was the first of the boat rocking' I hope. Don't get me wrong I was mos def pro Adleman, because I think he did the best he could or anybody could with what he had to work with the past few seasons....but it was time to rock the boat and see what happens.......
