  1. Really sad stuff. I had no idea how much pain and suffering he'd been going through lately until Yugo reached out and I later went back and read some of his recent posts on Facebook. He will be missed.
  2. Hello Oliver P, I guess it's just you and me.
  3. Just saw he's ruled out for Game 1 of the WCF tomorrow. Definitely the most Chris Paul thing I've ever heard of for him to get vaccinated and subsequently get COVID-19. Dude does everything right and seemly nothing works out for him.
  4. Of the predictions I had this happened to be the correct one. Wild.
  5. Suns really firing on all cylinders in Game 1 shooting 54.1% FG, 38.2% 3PT, and 85.0% FT. Don't want to overreact to a Game 1, but Jokic having more turnovers than assists isn't a winning recipe for the Nuggets. Have to imagine he'll turn it around in Game 2 tomorrow.
  6. Bucks just can't do any of the things they do well. They were down 49 points (123 to 74) at one point in this game and would've lost by 40+ if not for a late 12-2 run. Giannis is so deep into his own head at the foul line it's getting painful to watch. Looks to be a 4-0 sweep barring a miraculous turn of events in Game 3 (Thursday) and Game 4 (Sunday).
  7. What an interesting turn of events with Harden departing within a minute of tipoff. I thought as others likely did the Bucks would cruise but I'd be awfully concerned if I was a Bucks fan. The bench was horrendous followed by Middleton no-showing. They'll certainly shoot it better and I'm certain Middleton will turn it around, but what's the deal with Bud and his minutes for Giannis? Nash played Durant 40 and Kyrie 45 and seemed to just understand as a former player how it was necessary. Sure, some of lack of minutes was due to the game being out of hand, but 29 minutes through three quarters seemed low. Props to Blake Griffin for looking like the 3rd or 4th best player on the court. Really unimaginable up until recently. I'm leaning Nets and was prior to the series starting but am very interested in seeing how Game 2 goes.
  8. Yeah, I'd agree re: Trae reverting to the mean at some point considering you won't see Danny Green guarding him for nearly the entire first half like in Game 1. I'm far from Trae's biggest fan, but man is he [expletive]ing awesome and I've love to see the Hawks pull off a win in the series.
  9. Having some time to digest everything this is such a "what if" series. I was certain the Lakers were set to advance going into Game 4, but once the AD injury happened those thoughts of advancing were put to bed. Still interesting that Davis came out in Game 6 and gave it a go. Did he do it to prove to folks (or himself) that he's not "street clothes" as Barkley called him? We'll probably never know, but I for one wish he hadn't. It was clear when he didn't do the tipoff (Gasol did) he probably shouldn't have been out there. When he's right, he's special, but man it sucks seeing him have all these injuries. Hopefully, he can things sorted out in the offseason.
  10. As much as I'd like to see it happen, I'm leaning no as well. I will say it is crazy how quick many forget they were 21-7 until Davis aggravated the Achilles injury. Before that, there weren’t many folks saying they didn’t like how the roster was constructed. Sure, it was a bit messy, and they ultimately lacked shooting, but to me, it boiled down to injuries. The goal is to win a title and they’ve won one. With Davis and LeBron, you have a chance and that's the whole point, you hope you have a chance. I certainly hope it happens but am not counting on it.
  11. Fortunately for the Clippers they escaped round 1, otherwise the rumors around blowing up the team and what Kawhi was going to do this summer would be non-stop.
  12. If I hadn't have known about the meniscus injury, I would've assumed he looked fine in Game 1. Getting tougher and tougher to trust these injury reports these days.
  13. I'll take the Clippers in 6., though it's mainly due to my recency bias from Kawhi's takeover in Games 6 of 7 of the series vs. the Mavericks. It's almost like once the Clippers realized the Lakers got eliminated a switch was flipped upon realizing they have a real shot of coming out of the West. Tough for me to go against the Clippers with Kawhi seeming so locked in.
  14. Of the four teams left in the West, Denver may be the "least" talented of the bunch all while having may have the best player of the four in Jokic. To me, this series boils down to Booker continuing his excellent shooting/scoring and what the answer is to slow down Jokic for the Suns. Jokic had a field day with Portland and Nurkic fouled him out of 3 of the 6 games in the first round. Really wild to think how Austin Rivers was waived by OKC, proceed to sign a 10-day with Denver, then was retained or the year and has gone on to play at a high level in these playoffs.
