  3. I think that Houston is Bosh's third choice at this point. I think Chicago is his number one choice and after Chicago his second choice would be wherever the hell LeBron ends up. Despite his talk about wanting to be "the man" on a team, I believe he intends to team up with LeBron or Wade somewhere, particularly Chicago. If that doesn't work out then I think he will turn his attention to Houston because they clearly want him, are willing to offer him the max and work out a S&T with the Raptors to get him the 6 year max. The only question is will the Rockets be willing to part with the Knicks draft picks in a S&T deal because I can see Colangelo holding out for those and not agreeing to do anything unless they are involved, or at least one of them combined with Brooks. I think Bosh is using Houston as a backup plan in case things fall apart in Chicago or somewhere with LeBron/Wade, or he is using Houston as leverage to try and get Chicago to bite on whatever it is Toronto is asking for hin a S&T (I'm guessing Noah). Above all else though, I believe that Bosh's number one priority is to get a 6 year max and by the sounds of it, Colangelo is playing hard ball. He isn't going to simply hand Bosh over to another team in a S&T unless he is getting what he deems as a fair return for him. With New York and Miami essentially gutting their rosters (and NY supposedly signing Amare, effectively eliminating any chance of Bosh going there), Chicago being reluctant to include Noah and New Jersey focusing all of their attention on LeBron, all of a sudden Houston is looking very desirable for Bosh.

  4. The thing is, often times the team wouldn't need to be put in those close-game situations if they had more production at the PG position in the first 45min. How many times did the Lakers waste big leads? Just take a look at their point differential last season. Fisher can't defend remotely athletic PG's, he makes horrible decisions with the pull-up 3, shot sub-40% from the field last season, and he's not a good passer. Blake is a smarter offensive player, can hold his own defensively, is a good passer, and shoots a better percentage from the field and from 3. I agree Fisher has some intangibles that Blake has yet to prove he has. But Blake is the better player, is 5 years younger and Fisher expects to be making MORE than Blake the next 2 seasons?!?

  5. Fisher has to be clutch to make up for the pathetic defense, and pathetic shooting, he gives us for the first 47 minutes of every game he plays. The clutch excuse gets old, guys. If we had a point that could defend, we wouldn't need 6-7 Kobe game-winners or a Fisher clutch three.

  6. If I was Phil Jackson, I'd start Steve Blake. Fisher wasn't capable of guarding Westbrook, Williams, Nash, or Rondo in the playoffs. Blake can. Blake needs to start. Fisher can still hit his jumpers off the bench and finish close games.

  7. This just makes me like the signing even more. Unlike Mike Miller, Steve Blake actually fills a DRASTIC need that we've had for years now. We finally have someone we can count on to pass the ball and give touches to our bigs (besides Kobe and Walton who is always injured). I don't think people realize how big of a deal this is. Blake isn't flashy, he isn't a big name, but he will get the job done. He can shoot the ball, he can run the offense, and he is an upgrade defensively over what we had. This is an awesome signing, and not big money either. Props to Mitch for this signing. I don't think this signing sounds as good as "MIke Miller to the Lakers" but in the end, it is just as if not even more significant.
