  1. Chris, Thank you for the letter. Sorry I couldn't reply to this last night; I was showing Andre how to keep his distance from 3-point shooters if we're up by 4 points at the end of the game, and plus, the site's CAPTCHA was too confusing to read (some of those letters look like lines and scribbles), and by the time I decided to register, everyone on the plane was sleeping. We are doing our best. We are taking care of Tony Battie's knees as much as we can. I think we'll still get about 6-10 minutes out of him for the rest of the season, but I can only pray. Allen Iverson keeps phoning me from some weird telephone number, leaving messages about how he should be starting over Jrue, not sure what that's about. Oh, and I'm happy to tell you that I had a dream about Michael the other night...we won eight championships together, he decided not to retire in 1993 because I was still there, then we ditched Chicago and suited up for the Sixers as teammates in 1998, dominated the league and got married one year later. Marcus Jordan looks just like his daddy, but has my forehead! Do you know we're the 7th seed in the East? Holy [expletive], I didn't know that, either. Time to get ready for the Bobcats tonight. I hope Michael is in Charlotte, waiting to greet me! Sincerely, Doug

  2. Your "value" to a team drops when you have other MVP candidates playing along your side. Shaq wasn't going to rack up MVP awards with Kobe next to him (and vice-versa), the same way LeBron shouldn't rack up his with Wade and Bosh. Unless, of course, the MVP award is given to the best player in the NBA...and then you can make a case for James...but that's not the definition of the award, or else Bryant, Shaq, Jordan and Duncan would've dominated the list of MVP winners.

  3. Hate to break it to you, but FGA already take into account the threes attempted. And, when you speak of "how many shots it took," you don't include the free throws because they aren't a part of determining a player's efficiency, in that manner. There are many bad defenses in the NBA, every season. When have you seen a player, other than Bryant, score more than 62 points? I know you were too young to see Jordan's 69 or 64, D-Rob's 71, and besides Bryant's 81, 65 and 62, there's nobody else that has done it. And that's just asking for anyone scoring over 62 points.

  6. http://www.otrbasketball.com/forums/videos (link under the banner) YouTube it. Basketball videos only, though. You'll see the categories. EDIT: Also, all videos have to be approved by an admin or moderator, for obvious reasons.

  8. You know a Lakers fan is the owner of the site when LeBron James is only two points above Derek Fisher.

  12. I never panic. OTR will stay up, regardless. I'm not one to sell the board or just ditch it, especially when we've been running since 2005.

  17. The draft. This season is just depressing. I just want it to finish already. On a more serious note, I think what Flash said is a large part of the reason for the dip in activity. I haven't been able to watch a full game, outside of the Clipper/Miami one the other night, in about a month and that is including Raptor games. With college, work and studying, there just isn't nearly as much time to come onto message boards and post about games that you weren't even able to watch. It is pretty hard to post anything of substance when you are just going off of box scores and things like that.

  18. The immaturity of some of these members are one of the reasons I left and never really came back. I don't see the point in fighting over the internet, or fighting in general. If you guys don't like what someone said, simply IGNORE him/her. There is absolutely NO reason to attack the member. Maybe he doesn't know basketball, maybe he's completely biased, or maybe he really is stupid...but do not, by all means, make fun of him, talk trash to him, or start an endless argument with him. The two choices are: 1; you leave the stupid idiot alone, or 2; you reply with a kind, knowledgeable, and, most importantly, MATURE post. The fact that you guys all pointed fingers at each other in THIS THREAD is even more immature. I don't know how you put up with all this crap, Brandon...you're a warrior. With such an amazing and dedicated owner, OTR could be one the best basketball-based message boards on the web. What's holding it back is people like you guys, and people like me who don't want to be apart of it.
