  1. All teams under the cap get to bid on amnesty players first, and I doubt all of those teams pass up Davis.
  2. The Lakers put themselves into position to make these deals, and it helps that they have Kobe Bryant. There is a salary cap, and all of these owners DO have the money to spend as long as they stay in the restricted area...most are just afraid they won't make any money off of these big deals. When they drafted Drew in 2005, that helped assure them they would either have a legit big man, or have one to trade. Other teams could've done the same thing, but they didn't. It's Kobe Bryant, and it's Los Angeles. Players want to be here, players want to play alongside a 5-time champion, and the Lakers know how to use expiring contracts and their bigs to bring in other players. No need to be mad, but I expected it, nonetheless.
  3. TLN, but they are getting it from a Spurs site. Someone also said that Steven A. is saying something similar. I'm thinking it may have been on TV, but I'm not near one to confirm it.
  4. First CP3, and now... Rumor has is that Dwight is going to be a Laker in the matter of hours. - Chris Brousard
  5. Wait...so we keep Drew? I'm getting sick of these reporters screwing up. I need accuracy. If we keep Drew, that means we're dealing him to Orlando. There is no reason why the Lakers would trade Gasol instead (for CP3).
  6. If we end up with CP3 and Howard, I think we sign Kapono just for laughs.
  7. Itching to know if it's CP3. I'm also wondering if Orlando wants to wait a few days before dealing Howard. Makes sense. Bynum is suspended for five games. Just praying to the basketball gods!
  8. So...$26 million less? I'm going to safely assume that Dallas will need to work a sign-and-trade with New Jersey.
  9. Wait, so the article is talking about it being a bad thing to team up Gasol and Nene? I don't get that. Regarding the Rondo trade...I just have a hunch that Houston (and maybe a few other GM's) don't see him as a franchise player. Unlike CP3 and Deron, he can't shoot or really score the ball. Is he really the next Jason Kidd? In recent memory, Kidd is the only other PG that you can build a team around that wasn't exactly a scorer or shooter.
  10. You would? That basically means you might as well get rid of Lowry, Brooks and Dragic (or two of the three), and give up on a big man. Marc Gasol and DeAndre Jordan are almost certainly staying put, and if Nene doesn't accept that max contract from Denver, I'd be surprised. As far as the Hornets accepting that deal, I don't know why it was shot down yesterday, when it was "rivals" with the Golden State offer. The Warriors were actually leading the pack, at one point, after they pushed aside the Boston proposal. I hate rumors, but love activity on OTR.
  11. Boston doesn't have a chance, from what all I've read over the last couple of days. Rondo and Green? Houston would not want that. They are dying for a big man.
  12. Probably not. Butler is a decent player, but he's not THAT good. I think Griffin and Gordon are the two players the Clips are fully dedicated to, and since they believe Bledsoe can be a decent PG, that hurts the trade as well.
  13. If the Suns use the amnesty on Vince, maybe so. Shannon's agent says he wants a better opportunity elsewhere, and I'm assuming you'd have to tell Brown he'll start before he signs.

  15. Przybilla is done, but Dalembert would've been nice. Maybe even Kwame, instead of Curry.
  16. Makes me wonder what the hell Houston would trade to the Hornets. I'm not really sure.
  17. No direction, whatsoever. It's so bad, I'm not sure if they are tanking (yet, they just signed Prince), trying to save money (yet, they just signed Prince), or trying to build a decent team (yet, they just signed Prince). It's almost like they are wanting to build a team that barely misses the playoffs, and gets a decent mid-first round pick, and...well, that's it.
  18. Wow, I didn't realize that. Crazy. Well, if you're tanking, it's not a bad signing. Otherwise, I would hate having to give Magloire minutes over more deserving bigs.
  19. Say goodbye to the Melo/Amare/CP3 dream. Not sure if it matters, though. The Knicks want this done bad. Even then, if they wanted to, they could deal Amare to the Hornets...lol.
