You don't think so? They were running with this five most of the preseason: C - Lopez PF - Hedo SF - Hill SG - Richardson PG - Nash I watched three Suns games, so I'm not sure what they did in the others. You would know more than me, I'm sure...but I would think Gentry starts Hedo at the four, unless he plans on starting Warrick there, with Hedo at the three and Hill off the bench. If they bring Hedo off the bench...haha, that's just asking for trouble.

The only times I'll root for the Boston Celtics... 1) if it's against a team that threatens our conference standing at the end of the season 2) against LeBron and Bosh So, go green.
-
Not really expecting much from Bryant, unfortunately. The preseason really turned that smile into a frown. Gasol and Odom time, I guess. Still...you can't tell from the post, but I'm excited for this season to begin, excited to see every team play.

The funniest part about that video is that it's Lamar Odom (who has airballed his only game-winner attempt for us) and Brian Cook (who, well, sucks). I'm glad Kobe took that shot. Stick the Glove and Jordan on him, double team, and I still want him to take it over those two. Odom isn't a bad player, but he doesn't need to take a three to win a game, and I've seen enough of Brian Cook to say he doesn't deserve to be in the game with time left on the clock...it's just that the Lakers sucked hard that year.

Right, but that has nothing to do with the revised game. The original (that was released in the 90s, designed in the 80s)...the cards were in black and white. This revised edition (whenever it was released) added color and new cards. If this video showed me black and white cards of the attack and the oil spill, I'd be asking questions and curious. But because it doesn't, it's meaningless.
-
I'd like to see the old cards, the black and white ones, the ones that were actually designed in the 80s. They added cards to the newer version of the game, and also added color to those cards.

Players you're interested in watching this year
Real Deal replied to Flash's topic in General NBA Discussion
All of them. You'll think that's funny, but I always end up watching every game I possibly can, no matter how bad the teams and players are. Jessica thinks I'm obsessed. If I were to pick a handful of guys I'm most interested in seeing, though... Blake Griffin, Greg Oden - a couple of my favorite bigs returning from injuries Kobe Bryant - shot bad during preseason, so I'm more interested in his game right now LeBron James - wondering if he has a post game now, wondering if he'll defer at the end of close games Derrick Caracter - almost went undrafted, someone who I think can be a good bench player in the future OJ Mayo - time to step up Sherron Collins, Xavier Henry, Cole Aldrich - rookie KU players Darren Collison - key to the Pacers' success Michael Beasley - bigger opportunity to become a star in Minny -
Brandon Jacobs looks like Shaq running out there. I would hate to have to tackle the dude. BUT, I'm a better shooter than he is. We would shoot around outside of the dorms every week, and I have a better jumper. HA.

Depends. I forgot his name, but there was a QB in the 90's that never returned to the game after he busted his collarbone. Super duper brownies to whoever finds out who it was.

Starting Center for the Thunder
Real Deal replied to Sun Tzu's topic in Oklahoma City Thunder Team Forum
It's still in the air, but I think they need to stick with their defensive player. Harden is probably better coming off the bench...OKC has to have a volume scorer in that second unit, and that's what they hope Harden will become. Along with Maynor and Peterson, the bench unit needs to score the ball efficiently, and Harden will be able to help with that. If they don't start Thabo, it'll be Kobe time when the Thunder play the Lakers. Thabo was arguably a top three perimeter defender in the NBA (I'd stick him behind Artest, for sure). -
Starting Center for the Thunder
Real Deal replied to Sun Tzu's topic in Oklahoma City Thunder Team Forum
I was assuming the five would be... C - Krstic PF - Green SF - Durant SG - Sefolosha PG - Westbrook But you never really know. I haven't seen Collison play a single game yet, though, and I've watched every Thunder preseason game. -
Forget what I said earlier. DL's should have access to everything right now (ex. restricted moderating in team forums, Gameday topic moving). Just figured I'd get this done now.

Two leaders for each division, with the exception of the Southeast (due to the Heat), who get three. I'm going to say this right now, and this has to be understood: all division leaders are expected to be on their best behavior and to represent OTR by displaying mature attitudes towards the community as a whole, engaging in basketball discussion, and encouraging others to do the same. Repeating from the other topic, DL's will be asked to... 1) move Gameday topics (no matter the teams or division, all leaders will be expected to help each day) 2) recruit for your division (bringing in fans for all five teams) 3) edit topic titles for those five team forums, open and close topics, merge topics Division Leaders will be monitored closely by Kyle and the moderators for a month or two into the season. In other words, they will be under a microscope, because eventually, some of them will be taking over an entire team forum by themselves (if we have enough to reach 30), and there may be one or two promoted to moderator sometime next year. There isn't much more to say beyond that. Each DL should be aware that the rope to hang themselves with is short. While it takes a little bit for members to be suspended, it will take less for DL's to be cut from the staff. The few, the merrier. That doesn't mean the DL's can't have fun, but I don't want to see them involved in flame wars, spamming for other sites (that will actually get you banned), or abusing power in the team forums. Here are the assigned Division Leaders. I did what I could to give everyone their primary or secondary options. Dash - Northwest Sun Tzu - Northwest ---------- Lkr - Pacific Prodigy - Pacific ---------- deestillballin - Southwest The Reason - Southwest ---------- STATCity - Atlantic TheHutch - Atlantic ---------- The Lone Granger - Central TheBullsInsider - Central ---------- Legacy - Southeast Built Ford Tough - Southeast Cobb - Southeast To the DL's, you'll see a Staff section near the bottom of the site. You'll also be able to move Gameday topics and make edits in your forums by Tuesday (more than likely, I'll have it set up tomorrow). EDIT: Nevermind, I did it tonight, haha. Thanks for applying, everyone. I really have a good feeling about all of you guys doing work, since you've been getting it done as posters recently (and some of you for a long time).

Cavs backed away from Baron Davis trade
Real Deal replied to magicbalala245's topic in Cleveland Cavaliers Team Forum
Wouldn't have mattered. LeBron's mind was made up long before that trade even hit the phone lines. Plus, Baron Davis? I can see why a prime Davis would keep him interested in Cleveland, but not today's Baron. Kaman? They probably would've had to deal Hickson and Varejao, along with Williams. -
We have a problem. A lot of you want the same divisions (Pacific, mainly), and a lot of Atlantic requests. Just one Southeast (really?) and two Southwest requests (the primary position). It might come down to first come, first serve...and I'll also consider activity and how long you've been with us. A couple of you wanted any division, and I appreciate that. Of course, that's not meant to be a backhand for anyone else. I may need a day or two just to figure out how I'm going to go about this. I may change a few things.

I can do it from the ACP, actually. But the spam issue is our only concern, and it's a big one. We almost lost our host because of it (when I was mass emailing members about the board going back up).
