Haha, I've been saying that for a few years now.

Guess he should've faked another injury tonight.

This kind of stuff will probably be an issue all season long, to be honest...players will be thrown out much more frequently, and inconsistency will be a factor as well. Sad that we can't enjoy emotions in a basketball game anymore.

Biggest homer in NBA history. Wonder if he'll get fined for that...

Wouldn't surprise me, dude. A lot of those guys have the talent to play at that level. I remember the day we heard about Brandon Jacobs coming to play for us...we all went nuts. And in that first game, he looked like a giant among everyone else on the field.

Fire Department Lets House Burn Down
Real Deal replied to EastCoastNiner's topic in Off-Topic Discussion Forum
Very true...and it's said that the big cities have a lack of firefighters, yet my city of 13k is lacking them, and so is the city 20 miles from me, and one 45 miles the opposite direction (I know this because I have a friend who is a firefighter). -
Kobe and Tyreke are bricklayers tonight.

Things You Like From Your Team So Far (Preseason)
Real Deal replied to MainEv3nt's topic in General NBA Discussion
Yeah, I thought they looked okay for a while, not a 45-win team by any means, but still... Then I saw the Chicago game, and I quickly changed my mind. -
I have a problem with it, because Arenas should want to see as much time on the court as he can with John Wall. Developing chemistry is more important than putting Nick Young out on the floor, sorry to say it. Gilbert is going to have to change the way he plays, and it's best he starts doing that in the preseason, not in November. Not only will stuff like that hurt the team, but it will also slow down Wall's development as a top-tier point guard in the league. Arenas is not getting paid to coach the team...he's getting paid to play. If Flip wants him out there, then there's certainly a reason for it. He should've just played.

Perkins: I'm Still Captain Of Boston's Defense
Real Deal replied to La Bomba's topic in Boston Celtics Team Forum
Tom still recognized Garnett as their defensive anchor last season. I'm not really sure why Perkins thinks he's the best defender on the team. I'm sure even the defensive stats will tell him otherwise. Argue this two years ago, when Garnett was injured, but not last year, and more than likely, not today. -
Done. I'll take the girl that is decent looking and doesn't cheat, if we're talking relationship-wise. I've gotten with a hot girl that depended on her parents, didn't work, and I ended up spending all of my money on her, including food, shopping, and even a few of her bills. Never again.

There are benefits to gambling. You can actually win money, and you don't necessarily do damage to your body unless you're not eating (pretty extreme case I've never encountered). Drug addiction...you lose money, you ruin your life, you present problems to your family, and there's nothing good about it at all.

Drugs, by a landslide. I have an uncle that gambles, and another that is a cocaine addict, and they don't even compare.

Fire Department Lets House Burn Down
Real Deal replied to EastCoastNiner's topic in Off-Topic Discussion Forum
You certainly missed the point of the post...had nothing to do with me helping, more about the experience. It relates to it because I had both family and friends, and people I know, who lost their homes and struggled to recover from it. I doubt anyone else in this topic (maybe one other, but that's unlikely) has felt something like that, so I don't expect you to know just how bad it can be for a person going through it. You can say you wouldn't help, but I would...and I didn't even have to think about it. If that's not being the normal person, I guess I don't want to fall into that category of people, simple as that. -
San Antonio at LA Clippers
Real Deal replied to Real Deal's topic in Los Angeles Clippers Team Forum
Yeah, Blake is going to be crazy good. He's still athletic despite the knee surgery, and he's a smart player for his age. I would not be surprised to see him lead the league in rebounds in 2-3 years, either. He is an excellent rebounder, and the way he boxes out, it's like he puts up four walls around him and grabs the board easily. -
Fire Department Lets House Burn Down

Funny that I have people poking inside of my brain, able to drain out my thoughts and say what I would do in a situation like this. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_yG2HbYQQYOw/RooIvwTesjI/AAAAAAAAARw/d8GfjV9coH8/s400/!0_2007_0702_Coffeyville-KS-Flood02.gif http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_blMH8OhgwZQ/RpLm6GnP3WI/AAAAAAAAAFE/Z9jlECVO4Lk/s400/Coffeyville+Flood+June+30+2007+147.jpg http://www.eham.net/data/articles/17220/KC8VWM_Coffeville1.jpg You can't even see half of those houses in those pictures, water clear over the roofs. That's my city, in 2007. Those people lost their homes due to the oil in the water, ruined 40% of our city. Every home and building had to be bulldozed, and one of those homes was my grandmother's place. I knew a LOT of people that lost their homes that day, and spent months trying to recover. My uncle lived in my garage for over two months, too embarrassed to sleep in the house and too desperate to live on the streets, losing his job AND his house because both were destroyed by the flood. One of my good friends watched their dog drown, from the tree they were in, while waiting to be rescued. Another uncle of mine was selling his FEMA supplies (soap, and other things) so he could buy food because he also lost his job. I volunteered to help pass out supplies for FEMA, and to log names of those in need of support and needing to contact their families, and it was a sad, depressing MESS, especially when a kid walks up asking if we had shelters for missing/found dogs and cats. Animals and homes, memories and money...all lost. Same thing with this fire, and what it did to the family...they lost their home, four pets, memories and will be spending money to climb out of the hole they are in. So, no, don't tell me I wouldn't save that home. You have absolutely no reason to speak for me. After the unfortunate events I've been through that go far beyond a flood, I make sure people around me are in good shape before I think about myself. -
Cousins Disses Favors Out of Disbelief
Real Deal replied to AboveLegit's topic in Sacramento Kings Team Forum
Yeah, I guess it's not too similar to Gilchrist, because he was an incredible PG in college, ranked right up there with Paul, Deron and Felton by some analysts. I'd like to believe Caracter's problem in college was really his attitude, though. I remember hearing stories about how he practiced (or...didn't practice), and how he would drag his feet working out with the rest of the team. That will hurt your transition from high school to college, and in his case, it almost ruined his potential career as a pro. Crazy that you played a scrimmage with him in middle school. I heard he was raising eyebrows then, too.
