Nuggets refusing to send Melo to New York?
Real Deal replied to Dash's topic in New York Knicks Team Forum
Ah, got it. Yeah, I think the Knicks are doing everything possible to hold on to Gallinari, and the Nuggets are avoiding any deals that don't include him. That may be a second reason why a trade hasn't happened for Melo just yet. -

New York made that exact offer? I wasn't aware that they stuck Gallinari in offers with Chandler and Randolph. -
LeBron says Heat 'will let our game do the talking'
Real Deal replied to Flash's topic in Miami Heat Team Forum
You mean without injuries? That's basically saying a healthy Heat team will win six consecutive rings, and dominate the world (or something). You stated that the Heat duo was better than a dynasty duo. Give all the reasons you want, make your argument as to why the 2004 Olympic team was better than every other team they played (remember, just add up the stats!), but it's still a ridiculous statement that ties in with this Miami Heat circus. I said fans, and I didn't say the entire fanbase. Five Heat fans, among a thousand, are still "fans" aren't they? That's not the point. I'm telling you why most are annoyed. And the only time Bryant got his media attention WITHOUT winning it all was when he was accused of rape. Aside from the 81-point game and the 62 in three against Dallas, the media didn't hang from his jock until he was winning championships again. At least the Kobe, Shaq, Malone and Payton team had two three-time champions in it, that proved they could play together and destroy everyone in their path at full health. But this is what happens...long, lengthy and worthless topics that, really, should have a page or less of posts in them. LeBron says the Heat will let their game do the talking? Is that why he's talking? Is that why he tweeted all of the nonsense he did about those "doubting the team" and talking trash? Is that why Wade compared losing two consecutive games to a national tragedy? Maybe we (as in, most of the other 29 NBA teams' fans) can't wait until the playoffs start. Most teams are under a microscope. The Heat are going to be under a telescope, and loses are going to be hell. In before, "We'll only have two losses so it won't matter." I hope the rest of the site (those that know where I'm coming from) will just bail on these topics from now on, like I'm going to. Maybe for the entire season, with the exception of game topics. Ah, and...by the way, hurry and turn it on ESPN. A special on the Heat are coming up after the commercials (and no, I'm not even kidding). -
LeBron says Heat 'will let our game do the talking'
Real Deal replied to Flash's topic in Miami Heat Team Forum
My point was made, and I'm sure most everyone (most every non-Heat fan) will agree. It's been three months? Yeah...but you sure couldn't tell, because the Heat seem to win an NBA title every other week. You say, "I can't wait for the season to start." Well, in your post above, you make it sound genuine. In other posts, you make it sound like you can't wait for the Heat to win 70 games and an NBA title, and embarrass every team fan talking smack. The little things aren't so annoying until they occur every single day. Personally, I don't hate the Heat because they are going to be crazy good (which I've admitted over and over again), I hate the Heat because they have turned into the most annoying team in the last ten seasons, probably more. Maybe other people hate the Heat because they will be good, that's not my problem and I think that's pretty ignorant, but you're sitting here telling us you can't wait until the season starts. We can't wait, either. If I told you that Lakers fans can't wait, though...well, you can make out the differences between the two statements, sort of like if I said that I can't wait for that Christmas game. At the end of the day, when you talk about non-Heat fans being annoying, think about how many times they have to hear about your team, and how pissed off you would be if it didn't swing in your favor, despite what you say. -
LeBron says Heat 'will let our game do the talking'
Real Deal replied to Flash's topic in Miami Heat Team Forum
Well, I can tell you right now that, if LeBron had went to the Knicks, and Wade followed him there, you'd be pretty pissed off also. You'd also be annoyed as hell seeing the Knicks on TV every night, turning on ESPN on September 27th (media day for many teams) and seeing what seems to be a championship post-game interview for the Heat. Not only that, but then you hear fans say that the trio is going to win the next six NBA titles, and you hear that the core duo of LeBron and Wade are better than Kobe and Shaq. Not to mention the one-hour long Decision special, the "championship" parade/concert/whatever that the Heat had to introduce LeBron and Bosh (something that took up room on NBATV), and guys like Leno and his late-night show, Steven Smith's radio show, my favorite radio station (in Tulsa), and every part of the basketball media basically making this team (or, more like the trio) media kings. People get tired of the [expletive]. If they win it all, fine...throw a part everywhere. But the team has yet to play a single preseason game, and that's why 29 other team fans are completely shocked at the reception that seems to last days, weeks and months for absolutely no reason other than hype. That's what's annoying. -
Well, instead, they'll be talking about why Green Bay choked, which is even worse. Once the Bears recovered the fumble, there was no doubt in my mind that Chicago was going to win by a field goal, and leave next to nothing on the clock. And I can't sit here and say the Pack was robbed, either. They failed to stop Hester, had a field goal blocked by Peppers, and fumbled the ball at the end of the game. Rodgers was amazing, but the Packers weren't.

LeBron says Heat 'will let our game do the talking'
Real Deal replied to Flash's topic in Miami Heat Team Forum
Are you guys still whining about who LeBron had as his teammates? I didn't see Iverson crying about it in 2001. The Cavaliers were built for LeBron, shooters and defensive players...the perfect ingredients for a slasher that has playmaking skills. If LeBron won 60+ games all by himself, you might as well expect an 82-win season next year (and no, it won't happen). -
Should've just let them score, had a minute on the clock for Rodgers to tie it up. You don't let Robbie kick what was basically an extra point attempt to win the game.

His are garbage, too. 100-80 ratings: 95 - LeBron James (SF/PF) 94 – Dwyane Wade (SG/PG) 92 – Dwight Howard © 91 – Kobe Bryant (SG/SF) 91 - Chris Paul (PG) 89 - Kevin Durant (SF) 89 - Deron Williams (PG) 87 - Tim Duncan © 86 - Chris Bosh (PF/C) 86 - Brandon Roy (SG/SF) 85 - Rajon Rondo (PG) 85 - Carlos Boozer (PF/C) 85 - Amare Stoudemire (PF/C) 84 - Steve Nash (PG) 84 - Pau Gasol (PF/C) 84 - Carmelo Anthony (SF) 83 – Yao Ming © 83 – Russell Westbrook (PG) 83 - Joe Johnson (SG/SF) 83 - Gerald Wallace (SF/PF) 82 – Tyreke Evans (SG/PG) 82 - Manu Ginobili (SG/SF) 82 – Kevin Love (PF/C) 82 - Kevin Garnett (PF) 82 – Dirk Nowitzki (PF/C) 82 – Derrick Rose (PG) 82 – Darren Collison (PG) 82 - Danny Granger (SF/PF) 81 - Gilbert Arenas (SG/PG) 81 – David Lee (PF/C) 81 - Baron Davis (PG) 81 - Al Horford (C/PF) 80 - Zach Randolph (PF/C) 80 – Stephen Curry (PG/SG) 80 - Paul Pierce (SF) 80 - Monta Ellis (SG/PG) 80 - Josh Smith (PF) 80 – Greg Oden © 80 – Evan Turner (SF/SG) 80 - Andrew Bogut © 80 - Andre Iguodala (SG/SF) Please. EDIT: And he's got Iverson better than Mayo, Defino and Gooden as good as Bargnani, and Keyon Dooling and Toney Douglas as good as Eric Gordon. LOL, his ratings are arguably worse.
-
If he was a better offensive player, I'm sure he'd be worth more than what Chicago offered. Sounds about right, though. Then again, if he was a better offensive player, he'd be an incredible center. Hard not to compare him to other big man contracts. Drew is getting double-digit millions, and he's in and out of the lineup all the time. I believe he's going to be making $14-15 million in a season or two.

And Kleiza is a 55. EDIT: Nevermind, you caught it lol.

Shaq Throws verbal jabs at Kobe & Wade?
Real Deal replied to magicbalala245's topic in Boston Celtics Team Forum
Yeah. When Kobe said he had one more than Shaq, he laughed about it, and it was him cracking a joke about what Shaq said in previous comments. But Shaq's way of saying things, he looks to dig into his old teammates' brains, and he says it in a disrespectful manner, mainly to get topics made about him on OTR, since I banned him from posting here. -
AND DAVID LEE AND MONTA ELLIS, YOU WARRIORS FAN YOU.
-
Well, Durant is a better defender than most say, at least by the numbers (ex. opponent eFG%). I'd say he's a better defender than Dirk, and he might be a better shooter. He also gets to the rim much better. But still, Dirk being an 83 makes no sense, especially when I look around and see Monta Ellis an 84, and David Lee an 83. Ridiculous.

Shaq Throws verbal jabs at Kobe & Wade?
Real Deal replied to magicbalala245's topic in Boston Celtics Team Forum
Kind of numb to it now. -
I posted it in here because I figured we'd talk more about the ratings than the actual game (if that makes sense). So here are the ratings, but only the starting five of each team. These below are in team order. The next list is in player rating order. The list was posted on Operation Sports as images, and I typed it out in Excel and sorted them for easier analysis. What do you think? Is Dirk Nowitzki really an 83?
-
The Heat, because Drew is out for a month and possibly longer. But, with that said, no team will break 72.
-
In other words, they will be the greatest team of all-time? Do you think they'll break the 72-win mark?
-
Conzuela (Mexican maid on Family Guy) would call him Mr. Joakim...might be what I roll with this season.
-
LOL. I'm eating some right now, while I'm reading your post. Lays Original. They taste amazing.
-
Vote and explain. Tons of questions to answer.
-
Had a good week, put up 10 points so far and waiting for tomorrow night's game.
-
Keep in mind who is coaching Chicago, though. Korver is a horrific defender. I see Tom going with Brewer because of his defense, and bringing Korver off the bench, even if he does end up playing Kyle more minutes. Rose isn't exactly the best defensive player, so he'll need all the help he can get.
-
And? He should go pick up hours doing community service for the Saints, then. Punish him, not the team. Miami would've won the game without him on the field...right?
