Another Marketing Idea From Yormark
Real Deal replied to Teletopez's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
LOL, wow. That's actually pretty cool, and pretty sad, in in the same light. Creative ideas, though. I actually thought the bag swap was a good idea. -
Isn't this the 16th loss in a row for Washington? Have they even won a game in March?
-
That's good. That's what I wanted to hear. Hill has also played 13 games this season for the Rockets, 17 minutes per game. So someone is defending those centers. It's Chuck Hayes. He does it today, and he was doing it all season long, before Hill was acquired in the deal. That's all that needed to be said.
-
Just a simple question, then I'll duck out of the debate for the sake of the topic: what other player on the Rockets would you rather have defending Howard, Bynum, and Perkins? Just curious.
-
Yep, and I remember him defending Andrew Bynum, also...and then Hayes was holding Gasol just a few days ago. But yeah, he's no center, he only defends them and wonders the court as a player with no position on offense.
-
And both Kevin McHale and Chris Webber, who played the game of basketball, acknowledged he has emerged as one of the top defensive centers in the NBA, a conversation they had 1-2 months ago on NBATV. But yeah, they wouldn't know anything about how Adelman runs his offense, either, nor would they know anything about basketball. You're wrong. I'll listen to people that are paid to watch the games and write about them, and those who have played in the NBA for years and have to analyze players after their careers are over, over a fan.
-
Yeah, neither do the professional analysts.
-
Oh, okay. That's convincing enough.
-
Well, I'm not going to ignore the time he spends at the five, and the defensive assignments he takes at the five. http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/10419/world-please-notice-chuck-hayes http://sports.espn.go.com/los-angeles/columns/story?columnist=mcmenamin_dave&id=4800610 http://sports.espn.go.com/fantasy/basketball/fba/story?page=wtw100122 Three writers who know it. http://www.fantasysp.com/player/nba/Chuck_Hayes/574069 Adelman confirms he's the starting center there. http://www.nba.com/playerfile/chuck_hayes/index.html NBA.com recognizes his primary position as a center. http://news.yahoo.com/nphotos/Houston-Rockets-Madison-Square-Garden-Chuck-Hayes/photo//100321/483/urn_publicid_ap_org2c7d89be89574af6ab74abc440ca8cd8//s:/ap/20100321/ap_on_sp_bk_ga_su/bkn_rockets_knicks Yahoo knows he's a center. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/14/sports/basketball/14rockets.html The NY Times know it. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/6659394.html The Houston Chronicle acknowledges it. He's a center.

It's been proven that milk can help you lose weight. There are people who just don't know how to use it. You drink it immediately after working out. My aunt drinks more milk than I do, and she weighs 110 pounds and is almost too skinny, lost about 40-50 pounds and never put it back on. Fish oil can be damaging if you already get enough of it through your food. It's a blood thinner. If I took fish oil supplements, my eyes would start to bleed again (had surgeries to burn out extra blood vessels, which caused me to be blind once they started bleeding). People that have naturally lower blood pressure can get dangerously low, and over time, fish oil can bring those down to levels you'll eventually need to go to the doctor for. Same with too much Vitamin B. It can cause nerve damage over a long period of time (which you won't notice until it's too late), and it also elevates liver enzymes. Too much of a good thing isn't always a good thing. For people that get those nutrients in food AND in pill form, they could be making a mistake they won't notice for a decade or two, and because you're young, that's why you have yet to notice it. But maybe you'll be fine, not trying to get you to stop. I've been ear-[expletive] by my nutritionists since I was 10 years old, so 16 years of four different people telling me the same thing...I think I have to believe what I hear.

Well, I suppose I can say that Pau Gasol is only good at contesting shots because of his length, because otherwise, his defensive IQ is average, at best...and his physical defense leaves nothing to be desired for. Varejao is a smarter defensive player than Gasol, and he's more physical with the opposition. He doesn't have the length Pau has...but if we say Pau, we have to say Varejao.
-
One more and you're gone, forever. Sexism and racism...you just don't get it, I guess.
-
Hayes is a center in Adelman's offense. Centers don't have to play in the low post. See Mehmet Okur. Otherwise, Boozer is the center for Utah, and that's not true. No order... Josh Smith Kenyon Martin Anderson Varejao Jeff Green Pau Gasol I can't put Duncan because Pop sits him at the center position most of the game. Chris Andersen splits time at both, and it seems like he's a better defensive center because of his athleticism. Power forwards match it, and because he's rail thin, he really doesn't have an advantage over any of them. Luc Mbah a Moute was close to breaking the five, but he plays better defense at the three, although that's not his primary position.

Taking a game and making conclusions about the entire sport of women's basketball is ridiculous. The Connecticut women would mop the floor with a ton of HS men's basketball teams. What conclusion do you draw from that? It's obvious that women are not as athletic as men. There are HS men that can beat college women in a game. We don't need to take it a step further and bash the hell out of them to make them inferior, and the comment about them being ugly is absolutely STUPID and childish, and it's a perfect example of what's wrong with our site and why there are members who don't want to stay here. This won't happen again.
-
Well, I definitely don't have time to create videos like that. Blasco already stated that he doesn't. We don't have a mix team, because there are mixing sites (basketball mixing sites, on top of that) which demand those type of members. While that seems like the best idea, it won't work here. I am having trouble finding dedicated posters that want to add content to the forums each day (200-300 posts per day), so the likelihood that I'll find a member or two that wants to create videos and mixes for our YouTube channel is out of reach.

Guys, I know a lot of you contribute here. Aaron created every gameday topic and does our backups, Kyle and the moderators manage the forums, Epidemik moves gameday topics each day, BasX manages Twitter, and our writers and non-staff members create topics and reply to them daily. I just want to point out that Wali (Waldo) has been ON TOP OF HIS GAME. He's managing our YouTube account, and...well, you just have to see it to believe it. http://www.youtube.com/otrbasketball He uploads videos every night or so. We have over 540 subscribers, and almost 900 videos, with a total of over 1,020,000 views. That is great, and it does take a lot of hard work and dedication to the site. I know he doesn't want me posting something like this, because he doesn't like the attention or the constant praise, but he's way too young to tell me what to do, so he just has to deal with it. Show some love, guys.

Awesome that you went, dude. When I was a wrestling fan, I always wanted to go see a PPV, especially one like WM. Let me know when you are ready for me to create those sim league forums, or if you're still interested in doing the league to begin with. We can wait until the off-season, if you need time.

Final eight games below, they are 54-20 as I type this... 3/31 - @ Atlanta 4/2 - vs. Utah 4/4 - vs. San Antonio 4/8 - @ Denver 4/9 - @ Minnesota 4/11 - vs. Portland 4/13 - vs. Sacramento 4/14 - @ Clippers They need to go 6-2. Likely?

You should never take pills, for any reason, unless a doctor prescribes them to you. They don't have an effect on the body when you're taking them, necessarily, but they will hurt you down the road. I have one of the best nutritionists in the state (needing one because I'm diabetic). I have been drinking milk every single day, up to three times a day, and I have been under 10% body fat most of my life. The best way to get any type of vitamin or nutrient in your body is through food. People that take potassium pills can ruin their heart, but eating bananas and spinach every day doesn't do any harm, at all. That's why lethal injections are potassium. Milk is good for you, and so is cheese.

Haha, yep. I guess voters were right in giving Shaq just one season MVP award, also. Speaks volumes, right? Nobody has yet to give me a "second fiddle" on a championship team that averages 28.5 PPG on 46% FG, 6 RPG, 5 APG, almost 2 SPG, while taking 22 FGA per game (the most shot attempts on the team). Anyone want to tackle that? I'll be waiting. Give me ONE "Robin" on ANY kind of team that has ever done that. Just one. Here's the facts: in 1996, Shaq came to Los Angeles and increased their wins from 53 to 56. Kobe was a bench player, getting under 16 minutes per game. That season, and the next two seasons, the Lakers failed in the playoffs. Phil Jackson comes, introduces the triangle offense, and gives Kobe the chance to run it. No matter if it was the post tri, reverse tri, whatever...it was the triangle offense, and very unlike the reverse triangle ran in Chicago. The first season Kobe is given the offense, they win their first of three championships. Comparisons to Pippen went out the door when Kobe was picking and choosing his time to attack. With Jordan as a teammate, Pippen NEVER averaged over 17 FGA per game, never averaged over 21 PPG. Kobe came out of the gates and broke that mold the first season the Lakers won the title, taking 18 shots for 23 points per game. The next season? 22 shots for almost 29 PPG. Third title? 20 shots for over 25 PPG. In 2002-03? 30 PPG with 23.5 FGA per game. To say that Shaq was the first and last to touch the ball shows you didn't watch the Lakers. Shaq needed two slashing, scoring guards that ran the offense to win his championships. Otherwise, teams put two or three guys on him the entire game, and it wore him out. Kobe Bryant, meet Dwyane Wade, who took over the Miami-Dallas series in the same fashion Kobe was taking over games against the Kings and Spurs in the playoffs, two of the toughest teams the Lakers faced. Shaq obliterated the East champs every year. We know that. Kobe dissected the West powerhouses, putting up 30+ point games against them and taking a load of pressure off the entire team, including O'Neal. Kobe was 21-23 years old. Shaq was sitting in his prime, with a 22-year old "Robin" averaging almost 29 PPG and running the offense, defending the best players on the court every night. Kobe wasn't as important? Please. He averaged 29.4 PPG on 47% FG, 7.3 RPG, and 6.1 APG in the 2001 Playoffs. Does anyone want to give me a "Robin" that has come remotely close to those playoff numbers?

Diesel doesn't post here anymore, because he couldn't refrain from acting like a child. His posts are deleted, and if I see one more, I'm banning IP addresses and accounts that contain them. He didn't contribute when he was here, and he won't contribute when he's not. I'm sure a former member, who isn't worthy of posting here anymore, isn't worth losing an account over. Plus, the obsession is obvious. When you HAVE TO post something on a site you're banned from, and it's because you keep checking in and making sure nobody says anything about your favorite player, something is mentally wrong. I hate Shaq, but I can recognize how great he was. He's on our rotation of main banners for a reason. However, when you have so much hate for a player that you refuse to give him credit for anything he did, you don't belong here. Maybe if the maturity level was a bit higher, things would've been different...but I sure the hell don't go searching for a Shaq shirt in a store just to take a picture of me flipping it off, and I don't go hunting down people to make comments for me on a site where I'm not welcome anymore.
