Iverson Sells Tickets, but Will He Win Games?
Real Deal replied to NJNJ's topic in Philadelphia 76ers Team Forum
Right, but if they just run the ball, instead of trying to set up the Princeton offense, they can be a playoff team. Defense wins championships, but there has to be scoring, and a lot of offensively-talented teams who lack defense have won 50+ games in a season, especially this last decade. -
Last six games... @ Washington: 7-21 (33.3%) vs. Chicago: 5-15 (33.3%) @ Orlando: 7-22 (31.8%) @ Oklahoma City: 3-11 (27.3%) @ New Orleans: 4-15 (26.7%) @ San Antonio: 6-21 (30%) He's shooting 30.5% from the floor in those six...didn't reach over 33% in any of them. Is it because they are on the road? Because he's a rookie? Fatigue setting in? Bogut being out? Bogut DID play against Chicago and Washington, so I'm not sure if that's the case. Maybe Jennings has hit the rookie wall already? Teams are targeting his offense, so I'd think Jennings would play it smart and take better shots, pass the ball more, and re-define his game, adjusting to his bigger role and the stronger defense.

Jennings is shooting 30.5% in his last six games, hasn't shot over 33% in any of them. Not good at all. He needs to take better jumpers, or make better decisions, as defenses are giving him the jumper and doubling him once he gets in the paint, and tough layups aren't going to go in all the time.
-
Rose needs to step it up more on the offensive end. I don't know if it's because of Salmons and Deng dominating the ball or what, but from what I've seen of Rose, he's not attacking the rim as much...just passing it out from the top of the key, or taking contested jumpers. Cleveland should win, but the Bulls can put up a fight if the bigs are producing well, especially Brad Miller.

Wonder how Al Harrington performs after his name has been tossed into trade rumors. Atlanta should have this in the bag, but it seems like there have been a ton of games we could've said that about for many teams in the league, and the ball rolls the other direction.
-
Final score: Washington 157, Toronto 152.
-
Yeah, he's pretty ugly though.
-
Haha, Dirk would go up, but then I'd have to stick Garnett up there...and because of that, Amare and Gasol would have to go up, along with Bosh, and then Joakim Noah.

Thanks. Had some feedback that the design on the others were unique, but they were too slim and didn't show enough of the player (in other words, part of the jersey). Team forum banners will be added as I create them. There's a gap in each forum right now, but that'll change once I stick the new banners up (one player at a time, also).

Bulls And Knicks Discuss Tyrus For Harrington Trade
Real Deal replied to MainEv3nt's topic in Chicago Bulls Team Forum
LOL...joking, right? The Knicks want to trade their best player for someone who just busted his arm/elbow and Jerome James? -
Aren't the Warriors playing just eight guys to begin with? Or they were?
-
Wow, how do you travel to end the game? Potential game-winner or game-tying shot, and you travel. Man...solid game by both teams though, nice back and forth game.
-
It's just as I thought it would be for the Spurs: live by the Manu, die by the Manu. If he's not going to be healthy enough to contribute efficiently off the bench, San Antonio is not going to the Conference Finals.

Just a temp. ban, until I check the authenticity of his account. He can advertise in his signature as long as he makes thoughtful basketball posts. Otherwise, if he's here just to advertise, there are message boards for that...not OTR.
-
They are in the same boat as everything else, haha. Just going to be finished when they are finished. I'm trying to do 3-4 things at once, every day, until it's all done...so it's a work in progress with all things incorporated, almost like a project.
-
Then there was really no point to reply to the ridiculous statement in the first place. RealGM has a ton of Lakers and Raptors fans. InsideHoops has a ton of Lakers and Raptors fans. Those are the two biggest basketball message boards on the internet. SportsTwo has a ton of Lakers and Blazers fans. I'm starting to see a pattern there. The funniest part of all of this is that I could get rid of every bit of information in the left pane of posts (team rep, avatars, location, favorite players) and there would be zero complaining about the number of Lakers fans here. It doesn't show in the actual post...but to the left of them, and that's not my problem if some members (not necessarily saying you unless you're putting yourself in the pool) just can't handle that small logo to the left.
-
Thanks. It shouldn't be long, actually. Once I get the "template" finished (the Hawks page, haha), then I can roll through the rest of them pretty quickly. And that also helps with the schedule pages, because they will be in a similar format.

Our most recent Laker fan is already posting more than most here. This is just another example of what is wrong with this site. If you don't like the fact that only 25% of this board is of the Lakers fanbase, then go do something about it. Recruit members that will actually post. When you bitch about the fanbase, it's going to turn people away from the forums. It's a no-brainer. Either you guys want this place to succeed, or you want to be the one to complicate things, simple as that. So either do something about it, or don't post your thoughts on the matter. I don't care to read how much it pains you to discuss basketball with about 30 of our 110+ active members being Laker fans, especially when I hear it all the time, and especially when this board is still up because of 2-3 Lakers fans to begin with (among other non-Laker fans posting and not whining). This topic concerns our activity, nothing more. We are DONE talking about anything else. There's a "new topic" button for that, and it belongs in the Site Suggestions forum. If you want to discuss just how many active Laker fans are on OTR, how much they contribute in other team forums, and what they mean to this place compared to you, then we can go that route...just not a good idea for you, but it's definitely not happening in this topic. Mods, delete all posts that concern anything but the activity, and if there's a consecutive post by the same person, give them 10 days.

Eddie Jordan Wants To Start Allen Iverson
Real Deal replied to NJNJ's topic in Philadelphia 76ers Team Forum
Go ahead and bring him off the bench, and Iggy too...and everyone else who will help them win games, since Eddie Jordan is the most intelligent coach in the league and is actually flip-flopping with the idea in the first place. -
Glad you love being here with 90% of the board (which is actually only 25%). If you don't like it here, why are you still here? Nobody is forcing you to log in, Paul.

Solid game by the Kings...namely Evans, Thompson and Hawes, although Tyreke has to watch the turnovers. Granger did good to keep his team in the game, played good defense, but other than him and Jones, there wasn't many others to bank on when Indiana needed stops.

The one that doesn't fit (shouldn't be that hard to figure out at this point).

Vince Carter, Jason Kidd Glad to Have Escaped Sinking Nets
Real Deal replied to NJNJ's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
Would you go to the Nets if they were to land John Wall, and have a healthy Devin Harris and Brook Lopez in the five?
