Amare' Stoudemire wants to play on a winner
Real Deal replied to Warren2ThaG's topic in Phoenix Suns Team Forum
And Steve will beg him to return (think he already has, in fact). -
Well, that's my thing about Calderon. He either shoots the ball, or he looks to pass to a jumpshooter. I don't see him driving the lane and kicking it out very much when I do watch the Raptors, and you guys need a point guard that can do that. Hell, that would get your shooters wide open, at least, lol. Do you guys miss TJ Ford? ^_^

Vince Carter, Jason Kidd Glad to Have Escaped Sinking Nets
Real Deal replied to NJNJ's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
Both of them won't be saying that when the 2010-11 Nets look like this: C - Brook Lopez PF - whoever the hell they want SF - LeBron James SG - Devin Harris PG - John Wall And that's leaving out CDR and Lee. And Tony Battie. -
Better with new team: Trevor Ariza or Dahntay Jones?
Real Deal replied to Warren2ThaG's topic in Player Comparisons
Jones, until McGrady returns to full health and gets Ariza open looks. Trevor shouldn't be trying to create his own shots, or for anyone else. He became an excellent spot-up shooter in Los Angeles, and that's what he needs to be in Houston. As the season progresses, he will continue to wear down and toss bricks. Having an improved Landry helps, but not as much as having a superstar teammate. -
Soooo...what's the latest on Griffin?

Your favorite team has the #2 pick in the 2010 NBA Draft...
Real Deal replied to Dash's topic in NBA Draft History
I never answered this topic, I see. If we're talking about just our favorite teams, then I'm taking a point guard, no doubt about it, so it's Willie Warren or Sherron Collins (we'll see by season's end). If it's just any team in general, it's Xavier Henry. I would've said this even before he changed his mind about Memphis. I just love his game. I also like Derrick Favors. I think he'll be a good player, but may take a few years to adjust to pro ball. -
No, haha. Seems like Toronto wants to play a game of chess out there. "You make a move, then we'll try and make one. Then you, then us." Great recipe for disaster. You can't literally outscore a team without playing defense, unless you have Steve Nash, Amare Stoudemire, Shawn Marion and a plethora of shooters to pass to.

Hahaha...is this somewhat deserving of a topic in the same way the Nets' 0-18 record-breaking start is? If so, Toronto sure didn't disappoint tonight. I'm not really sure if ANYONE on the Raptors wants to play defense, and I still think Toronto is banking on Calderon making way too many plays, which explains their offensive inconsistencies.

LOL.

On second thought: LeBron '50-50' on dunk contest
Real Deal replied to NJNJ's topic in Cleveland Cavaliers Team Forum
Wish they would go eight. James White Shannon Brown Andre Iguodala Josh Smith Dwight Howard DeMar DeRozan Sonny Weems Blake Griffin -
Consistency is key, as mentioned...and it counts most in the playoffs. Atlanta has to fix those problems, and I really do believe it starts with Joe Johnson. Smith has taken the franchise and put it on his back some nights, and Atlanta fans have to cross their fingers that he'll be able to do that in the real spotlight, unless they are banking that Johnson will show his face every night in the playoffs. Plus, you're getting solid bench play, especially from Crawford, who is a strong candidate for sixth man of the year. That makes Atlanta more dangerous than the Cavaliers, who really don't match up too well with the Celtics in the first place. With Hickson getting a few starts, Varejao being on and off, and Ilgauskas still trying to figure out how many games he'll have to play the four for longer than 15 minutes, I think Boston can take advantage of that mess with Garnett and Sheed, and that automatically spells trouble for Cleveland.

Haha, imagine living in a community with Shaq, Tiger, Vince and Griffey.
-
Yeah man, the team isn't fully healthy...so watching stuff like this, you have to be a little scared of what we're capable of, even though we didn't beat a strong team. We were just one point away from tying the record for consecutive points scored, and the 31 points allowed is our lowest since 1951.

480 posts today, guys...our most since November 9th. I'm really, really impressed. You guys were all asked to step up, and most of you are doing it, in a big way...and it's not just one or two of you posting 40 times a day, it's a team effort. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I appreciate all of the hard work. For that, here's what's in store for OTR: http://www.otrbasketball.com/hawks/roster.php Don't worry, I'll be adjusting the page, making the table smaller and adding more to the page...but you'll have full schedules, roster pages, team sites (hopefully completed the way I'd like them to be), history pages (already completed, just haven't added them yet), and 435+ player profiles, all with stats and information. Plus, a couple of things for the forums I can't discuss yet. The hard work doesn't go unnoticed.

Haywood is the only defender in that five. Everyone else? Matadors. It's been that way forever now. And not a chance Jamison deserves it over Josh Smith, and Smith is easily the better overall player. I don't even see why or how that can be debated. Smith is Atlanta's MVP, and the Hawks are one of the best teams in the conference because of that. If Jamison was one of the best forwards in the East, the Wizards would be better than they are right now...unless, of course, the blame is pushed onto Arenas, because he's the primary ball handler in the offense.
-
LOL man, I wish we beat all teams like that. 36-0 run by Kansas, at one point. That's amazing.
-
146 points...really? That's an average of around 36 a quarter, lol. Toronto can do better than that.

On second thought: LeBron '50-50' on dunk contest
Real Deal replied to NJNJ's topic in Cleveland Cavaliers Team Forum
Haha, Jer...I noticed it too. I don't like Vince, not a Raptors fan either...but everyone should know that Carter won it in 2000, one of the best slam dunk contest performances ever (if not the best). As for LeBron entering, I don't care. I would rather see James White in his place, with Shannon Brown, Andre Iguodala, and others who can actually pull off complicated, fancy dunks. If I wanted to see guys jump high and throw down tomahawks and two-handed jams, I'd just watch a Cavaliers/Nets game. -
I don't get that foul at the end. Let him go to the rim and have ANYONE try and swat the ball...don't foul him and put him at the line, shooting or driving, doesn't even matter what Boykins was going to do. Bad loss for Milwaukee. They are still in the easiest part of their schedule...they need to win every game they can, especially the close ones.
-
Stuckey shot 4-16, Gordon at 6-16. You'd think Detroit would've been wiped off the court by the third, but it was still a close game. Rose had a solid game minus the turnovers, and Brad Miller did pretty good, all around.
-
LOL, Nets fans are pumped because they set an NBA record.

Those are nice (but you already know how I feel about them). Yeah, try other teams and players.

Ron Artest admits to drinking during games
Real Deal replied to Warren2ThaG's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
LOL, he's kidding. There was another interview about a month ago where he said that him and Ben are friends. Being on a championship team, with a champion as a teammate, and a championship coach, changes things. -
Josh Smith. Doesn't work that way anyways. Forwards are voted in, not small forwards and power forwards. LeBron, Garnett, Bosh, Pierce...that's already four of the twelve. The coach's selection will be a big and a guard, more than likely, and I'd be picking Granger and Josh Smith over Jamison at the forward spot. And I was talking about Jefferson last year, when the Wolves were running with a .293 record. The Wizards are at around .375 this season, so I can't say they are that much better.
-
Hmm...well, hopefully he doesn't have Hep C. That could be it for his career if that's the case.
