  1. Jennings is a mini, poor version of Allen Iverson. And the Knicks did try to make it a game later on (really just in the second half), but wow...no defense. Harrington, Hill and Chandler just played terrible tonight on offense, also...and Gallinari needs to stop picking up stupid fouls and turning the ball over.
  2. Sorry, but I still think Garnett is injured.
  3. Flip Murray is an idiot. He had someone open in the corner, still took two consecutive threes, one heavily guarded by Hinrich, both missed shots. Noah had a career high 21 in this game, did pretty well against Chandler, which is impressive because Noah isn't a well-known offensive threat for Chicago, and Tyson is supposedly a good defensive center.
  4. Well, I'm thinking the critics are more focused on his defense than anything else, and Calderon doesn't play defense. Energy is a big part of it, yes...and when he does put energy and effort into his defense, he's okay...but that doesn't make him good at that end of the court. A lot of players can be "okay" defensive players at times, as long as they put 100% into their game, but Calderon isn't a physical defender, nor a fast one or smart help defender, so the problem isn't exactly his efforts, just his overall skill.
  5. If Howard is healthy, Dallas takes it convincingly. The Mavs are loaded with Howard in the five. It not only gives them another scorer, but also a long defender that can come in and out of the game along with Marion, and give more room for Dirk to operate without having to struggle on defense so much. Howard won't be defending bigs, but Marion can (as noted earlier), and that's all that Nowitzki needs to turn in a huge scoring game.
  6. That's actually a good point, too. There isn't that one go-to guy that can carry the team on his back through muddy waters. Chandler? Harrington? I know Al just dropped 40 a few games back, but he can't do that when called upon, not against teams set out to make his life miserable. They need LeBron or Wade, and that's why the organization is dead set on bringing one of them in (or Bosh, although I don't think he'll do that much more for them).
  7. Simply put, D'Antoni is an offensive-minded coach that is running an offense that's lacking offense. Confusing? If he was back in Phoenix, he could get away with it because the Suns would pour in 110 points per night, coming out with 50-60 wins. But it's not difficult to stop a team that has mediocre offense and bad defense, especially when the coach doesn't want to play defense. All you need to do is outscore the team and get a few stops here and there, and you're off to the races with another win. That's the Knicks in a nutshell.
  8. 1) Portland Trail Blazers - Kevin Durant 2) Seattle SuperSonics - Greg Oden 3) Atlanta Hawks - Al Horford 4) Memphis Grizzlies - ? Who do you select for Memphis with the fourth pick? For a complete list of players to choose from, here's the 2007 draft: http://www.draftexpr....php?syear=2007 If you need the Grizzlies' 2007-08 roster, it's here: http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/MEM/2008.html

  10. Right, but I just realized...can you actually do a hurricanrana?
  11. Atlanta can play really good at home. I expect a close one. I think K-Mart would be important in this game, as one of Denver's better and more versatile defensive players, but it now forces Nene and Birdman to step up and play more on the defensive end, while the backcourt will have to make up any scoring lost in their efforts (as most players have to substitute defense for offense, and vice-versa).
  12. Wow, the Nets are down to eight already? What is going on in New Jersey? Boston could cremate the Nets tonight...but as always, there are always those weird games where the stronger team can't figure out the awkward style of the "disabled" one, and it ends up being a good game. We'll see, though.
  13. Haha, yeah, it was really odd that they didn't run double teams at Kobe the entire game. Unless you have someone like Pippen defending Kobe, you really don't let Kobe "get his" and force the rest of the team to beat you, mainly because the rest of the team CAN beat you.
  14. The PERFECT time for you to run out onto the ramp, get in the ring and give someone a hurricanrana before getting arrested.
  15. I have no idea, because I don't have the old database anymore. You have my AIM, I'm guessing...so next time you see me on, just shoot me a message.

  16. LOL. Yeah. Woo. I'll refrain from being excited until we win the Finals, since these wins are just too easy for a team like ours.
  17. Yeah, I read Chicago is going to let him go anyways. I think they'll do fine without him.
  18. Mo shoots a career field goal of 45% against Alston in the regular season, only 1.6 turnovers a game. If you're talking about the playoffs (which I'm sure you are), he had a streak of bad games that started against the Hawks. Unfortunately for your argument, he finished the ORL/CLE series with two very good games where he scored 24 and 17 points against Rafer, two total turnovers, 50% shooting both games, while it was Rafer Alston who shot 1/10 and 5/16 in those last two games, crushed by Mo Williams. I can give you more point guards that Rafer has played poorly against, offensively AND defensively. Non-superstar point guards, if you wish. I'd rather not have to list all of their numbers, but I've already ran across two more just searching casually.
  19. 11/2 - 439 posts 11/3 - 386 posts 11/4 - 345 posts 11/5 - 288 posts 11/6 - 322 posts All-time lows, I'm sure. We've been through four full NBA seasons, half of the 2004-05 season...and this is terrible for us. I don't know if it's going to take me having to go out and find multiple board affiliations and/or possible merges or what, but it's looking more and more like we need new members.
  20. Wow, I don't think anyone is freaking out that we won the game. My sarcasm about being a piss-poor team without Gasol and Bynum must not be detected here, so let me cut to the chase: Kobe dropped his third 40+ point game in the last four games. He put in most of his points off of tough fadeaways. Ron Artest had an excellent game where he was actually hitting his open shots. That's all. The next time I make a post, I'll be sure to make it third grade level, so it's universally understood.
  21. I have no idea how the Heat managed to beat the Nuggets without Wade contributing big time. I mean, yeah...I see how they did...but it's mind-boggling. Denver should've capitalized on Wade's bad shooting night, but they let guys score left and right. And I wouldn't say Miami played that great defensively. They allowed Denver to shoot 47% from the floor. Melo put out his usual 30, but Lawson did what he wanted, and surprisingly, Afflalo played like an all-star. Denver just missed a ton of open threes and had no answer for Jermaine and Mario, as you said.
  22. Yeah, so we're a bad team? Go ahead and exit the topic.
  23. We just beat a Grizzlies team without Gasol and Bynum. All we had was Kobe (who is out of his prime now), Artest (the bad seed and chucker) and Odom (inconsistent loser married to the ugliest Kardashian). We just defeated OJ Mayo, Rudy Gay, Marc Gasol, Mike Conley and Allen Iverson with a group of "losers" that depend on Gasol to win anything.
