How good are the Lakers without Gasol?
Real Deal replied to Force's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
Well, there's always reason to have confidence with Kobe on your team, but the problem is, Bryant will have his hands full defending Ginobili. Parker and Duncan are the other two guys we'd have to be concerned with, and Ron can't guard either of them. -
How good are the Lakers without Gasol?
Real Deal replied to Force's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
Yeah, I think we can beat Orlando in a seven-gamer without Gasol. Bynum is a monster as long as he's healthy. But we'd lose to Boston without Pau, and same with the Spurs. Both teams have a frontcourt player that is way too versatile as a scorer and a defensive player. If Dwight Howard ever added more scoring abilities to his game, I'd change my stance as well. But Gasol will be fine soon, and so will the Lakers. -
So unpredictable. Charlotte is on and off all the time. I should probably say if the Nets have Harris, the Bobcats win. If Harris is out, Charlotte loses? You'd think the opposite, but you never know, haha.

Evans is playing, right? This could be an interesting game. Memphis will have their hands full with Sacramento's backcourt (and vice-versa, haha), and I'm curious to see how well Sacramento can contain Marc Gasol, who acts like he's trying to win an MVP award or something.

JaMarcus Russell pleased with 109 yard passing game
Real Deal replied to Warren2ThaG's topic in AFC Conference Discussion
The only thing that bothers me about people blaming our line and our receivers is that Russell throws passes 10 yards away from everyone half the time, something not even Flash Gordon could catch up to, and that's including plays out of the shotgun, even when our line is holding well. I know we don't have the best receivers, I know we don't have good receivers...and I know our line sucks quite a bit...but Russell's best passes are completed because of the receiver having to catch up to the ball, or change his route a bit for one of Russell's long "air it out" bombs. -
Welcome to the best. Just curious, how old are you? I don't know anyone under 20 that likes Motley Crue as their favorite band (assuming that because you named them first).

What Rajon "My Common Sense is Zero" Rondo doesn't understand is that CP3 also gets all the defensive attention. Pierce, Garnett and Ray get more attention than Rajon. There's a reason why teams leave him open for 18 footers.

Second best team out West, lose to the Spurs in the WCF. -
If everyone doesn't see that, it won't be fair. I'd just cancel out that one "winner" section for that game. Plus, if they are still allowed to edit after the Sunday game, they can change their answers for it.

Just gonna move this and pin it (or else it falls to the very back of the forum in here).

Pau Gasol could miss a couple more games
Real Deal replied to Warren2ThaG's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
Best in the West, .694 win percentage and 25-11 record two years ago without Gasol, we are fine. Bynum is giving us 20-point games. He's not some mediocre garbage center. Just another example of people needing to pay more attention to their basketball. -
Really? Let me go back to our OLD database and show you what was posted after the Lakers/Suns series, then you'll shut up about it? Because I'd rather not have to make you look like a fool. You know...check this out, since you know so much around here...give me one person that has been banned for posting "stuff like this" after a Lakers loss. Ever heard of a member named bangbangbang? How about YugoRocketsFan? How about Diesel? If you want ten more members, let me know. If you want some posts from our older database, give me a day. OR...you can just get over your loss already.

LOL, there are tons of bandwagoners and fairweather fans because they have the most fans in professional baseball, just as the Lakers in basketball. I'm sure that logic tells you that there are probably more male fans, also...and that there are possibly more female fans, that there are, just maybe, more disabled fans. I have five packs of Starbursts, I bet I have more reds than you do because you only have one pack (just trying to help you out with this, because you don't seem to want to understand it). You're just pissed you lost tonight. Glad you weren't able to post last night, because I bet you were pissed off then, also.

Well, I'm sorry to tell you, but I'm not a fake Yankees fan, either. I'm just rooting for them. Rooting for a team doesn't make you a "fan" of them. And most people rooting for the Yankees that AREN'T fans are probably doing so because of the Philly fanbase...but I'm sure that never crossed your minds.

I like how the Philly fans (and Philly "fans") were the ones declaring it was OVER after that Game 2 win, because the Phillies were just so devastating at home. But in the end, it's NOW about money again. Whether it's the Philly fans or Philly "fans" that say it, I don't see anyone pro-Phillies debating it...and that's what makes this World Series so bitter sweet. We are enjoying the win, by the way. We (including me, the "fan") won two consecutive in Philly. That was just so amazingly impossible, it's hard not to enjoy it.
