  4. The 2011 NBA Draft and David Thorpe's Re-do: ESPN's David Thorpe is a great coach and a great scout. He's magnanimous and friendly online in chats, on twitter, and in person (I'm assuming). He had an ESPN Insider article go up today where he attempts to re-do the Top 20 picks of the last draft. I thought he made a lot of good points, and I'm not going to let the cat out of the bag here, I'm just going to list the Top 15 guys without commentary David Thorpe re-do is the right name ie 4th Cavs pic kis Tristan but redo is Derrick Williams # - Team: Original Pick | Redo Pick #1 - Cavs: Kyrie Irving | Kyrie Irving #2 - Twolves: Derrick Williams | Tristan Thompson #3 - Jazz: Enes Kanter | Enes Kanter #4 - Cavs: Tristan Thompson | Derrick Williams #5 - Raptors: Jonas Valanciunas | Jonas Valanciunas #6 - Wizards: Jan Vesely | Kawhi Leonard #7 - Bobcats: Bismack Biyombo | Bismack Biyombo #8 - Pistons: Brandon Knight | Marshon Brooks #9 - Bobcats: Kemba Walker | Nikola Vucevic #10 - Kings: Jimmer Fredette | Kenneth Faried #11 - Warriors: Klay Thompson | Chandler Parsons #12 - Jazz: Alec Burks | Brandon Knight #13 - Suns: Markieff Morris | Kemba Walker #14 - Rockets: Marcus Morris | Jan Vesely #15 - Spurs: Kawhi Leonard | Alec Burks

  7. Don't expect Bargnani anytime soon Don’t expect Andrea Bargnani to come riding to the Raptors rescue just yet. While the team’s leading scorer appears to be getting around these days without much problem, getting around and running up and down a court and landing on that strained left calf is still something he hasn’t tried. Bargnani is travelling with the team, a change from last season when the injured players stayed behind while the team went on the road. Asked after the loss in Washington how he was progressing, Bargnani said the calf is getting better but cautioned he has not run on it yet. He is staying busy in the weight room but joining workouts is still days away. While he doesn’t enjoy watching his teammates and not being able to help out, he said he would much prefer to be with them and part of the team than back in Toronto working out by himself. The Raptors are just 2-11 in the 13 games he has missed. The team lost all six games before Bargnani returned following his first six-game absence. They won the next two with him in the lineup and are 2-5 since he re-injured his leg in that win over Utah two weeks ago. During his first absence the Raptors averaged just 81 points a night. In the seven games since he went out the second time, Toronto is averaging 88.4 points a night. The biggest contributors to the difference are Jerryd Bayless and Linas Kleiza. Bayless, who has made five starts in the past seven games is averaging 16.1 points a game over those seven games. Kleiza, who has started just one game in the past seven, has been a boost with the second unit averaging 11.3 points a night.
  8. Mitch Kupchak recently talked openly about the Lakers' desire to acquire a young, talented point guard ahead of the deadline. “Well, if there were a way for us to get a 25-year-old, All-Star, ball-handling guard we’d love to do it," said Kupchak to Mike Trudell of Lakers.com. "But that’s not likely in February. So you look at other alternatives, and see if it’s better than what you have. That’s all.” Rajon Rondo is the player that fits that description, possibly the only one in the NBA. Sources say the Celtics have interest in acquiring Pau Gasol for Rondo. The Lakers attempting to move Gasol in a deal in December for Chris Paul.
  9. Jonas remains one of the most efficient Eurocup top 16 players. While playing only 24:25 minutes per game in the top 16, he is averaging 11.3 points, leading entire league in rebounds (9.8) and blocks (2) per game, and is top 10 in True Shooting % (65.2 TS%). His per 36 numbers are insane : 16.7 pp36. 14.5 rp36
  10. Is it just me or when Shaq congrats Kobe during a interview he still has some underline meaning ie "I'm a little jealous of him because I was never able to escape the injury bug in my career, while he's never really been injured at all It's kind of saying he only passed him cause he never had a major injury .... ( How about if you hit at least half of the free throws you missed you still would be ahead of Kobe )

  19. First of all great post .. Oh no regrets with Jonas on my end and some say he is high risk high reward type of pick ... Watching behind the draft you saw that this guy Jonas was a pick they really really wanted ... Although it's not this draft but also previous drafts which I have seen the Raptors not take a PG ... Jrue Holiday , Ty Lawson are two guys who come to mind who were on the draft board and were not drafted ... I know high sight is 20/20 but since Mighty mouse this organization has failed to draft and develop a PG ...
