  1. The only thing I accused you of doing was the steals. Sorry, but 11 steals per game in 5 minute quarters makes me a bit skeptical about your style of play, especially since the computer mostly walks the ball up the floor. You'd have to be getting a steal in just about every other possession. I highly doubt the AI is THAT bad, even for low rated players. Honestly, though, there's nothing wrong if you were actually going after inbound steals. I'm not going to try to control the world and tell people to play by MY rules. The only right way to play a video game turn your TV set and xbox on, grab a controller, and press buttons. BTW, I did exactly the same thing you did with my pass-first 6'3'' PG, minus the steals. Averaged 18 points (48% shooting from mostly midrange and inside baskets), 13 assists, 8 boards, and 2 steals if I remember correctly. I had an A+ grade every game (A+ is way too easy to get, IMO, they need to up the grading difficulty), and I spent my skill points on mostly my awareness ratings, plus a couple other ratings on the side, and winded up with a 50 total rating by the last game. All the same things as you, but less shots taken (and/or probably lower FG%) leading to less PPG and also a major difference in steals, yet mine turned out to be a 12th pick and never touched anything below 10th. I doubt the points were the issue since the combine advertisements stress the whole 'ball hog' thing, so it's obviously the unusually higher amount of steals than the game designers intended, whether you did it from the AI inbounding or you found some alternative way to do it from half-court, or on-ball, post-entry passes, double teams, or something of the sort.
  2. The 11 steals is the reason you got 1st pick. I've heard some people have had as high as 22 steals per game, through what they called "steal glitching". It's not a glitch, just a fault in the game. Inbound steals are very easy to get. All you have to do is get in front of the PG, and for some reason when they inbound pass to the SG, the SG automatically gives it back to the PG, regardless if you are there for the steal or not. I hope they fix this when the full game comes out. Some people use realistic means to be productive and others search for faults in the game to abuse. There's nothing wrong with the latter, if that's your way of having fun with a game so be it - there's always going to be faults and glitches in games so I can't stop you. I just hope the "cheesing" in online play will be as lowered as possible.
  3. ....and how many titles did they get without Phil? Hmmm.... dumb argument. Red had plenty of talent on his team, too, so what's your point.
  4. I won't believe it unless I see a legit source.
  5. Exactly my thoughts. These jerseys should be worn by the McNuggets team instead.
  6. Haha, same here. I think I had somewhere around 20 points with Derek before deciding that I had enough with this game, just laughing from being able to do just about anything with anybody on offense in this game. It's pathetic. I wouldn't even get this game for free. You'd have to pay ME to have this piece of garbage rotting on my shelf.
  7. Seriously? Leaving a forum you spend so much time, work, and perhaps some money in just because you don't like what a single member has to say in his posts? He's just one out of many other members I'm sure you and the rest of us enjoy discussing basketball with. If what he says bothers you that much then just skip over his posts when reading through discussions. It's all written messages, nobody is making you or anybody else bothered by him read them.
  8. Well, that's their way of making the most out of the experience of going to a game. Just as long as their not sitting next to me, I'm straight with it.
  9. oh, ok. I looked at some of these, and ratings for rookies are normally pretty biased, and created players all look really similar. I suppose it could be the next best thing if you don't want to spend money on 2k10, but I'd hardly call it a good alternative, especially since 2k10 has the improved graphics and so much more depth to player ratings (like ball handling is divided into strong hand ball handling, weak hand, and ball control ratings, and its ranged from 25-100 instead of 50-100). The animations and signature styles are have also changed and improved dramatically. Kobe doesn't just shoot like Kobe anymore, but he fades away from his left and right shoulder like Kobe, he hook shots like Kobe, he cross-over's like Kobe, behind-the-back like Kobe, sweats like Kobe... (you get the point). Same thing goes for even the role players. Plus, in 2k10, it's not just the much improved gameplay to look forward to, but all the other added modes and online play as well.
  10. 2k9 isn't updating their rosters anymore. Same thing with 2k8 a year ago. They stop updating as soon as the playoffs are over. Personally I don't see how this isn't a drastic change. I can feel the difference in the gameplay in the draft combine, and it looks much different to me in the YT video. If anything, it's hard to see how they will pull off much drastic changes for 2k11 after the standards 2k10 has just set.
  11. Fine. Then it's the world's longest basketball throw
  12. You normally find them in the cases of new games... you know, those orange and white cards. BTW, I found one for ya. I'll PM you the code.
  13. Well.. isn't the definition of a basketball shot to throw a basketball at the basket? Or does there need to be a specific throwing motion?
  14. I actually thought that was funny, but whatever. People are too sensitive about their feelings being hurt. Lighten up. Everything Yugo says is HIS opinion, nobody is forcing you to agree with him.
  15. Those who say "[expletive] the future" will probably end up getting their future [expletive]ed. You do what you want, I'm just trying to pass the mindset that some things seem like a good idea today but could turn out to be a regretful decision tomorrow. My suggestion is to let this weigh on your mind a bit longer and picture yourself 50+ years down that road, because that IS a factor whether you think about it or not, then decide if this is the right choice or not. I'm not trying to tell you what to do or anything, just get ya to think more Who knows, that tat may serve as a symbol for a good memory when you're older, or something.
  16. I agree. I don't think a player should be judged SOLELY on their amount of rings, of course, but it should definitely be counted. Jordan wouldn't have ever been considered the greatest if he hadn't won any championships. The rings are part of what separates him from many of the other Hall of Famers. Nash is wrong in saying that players shouldn't be judged on titles.
  17. Nash is a talented player, a hard worker, and a great teammate. I think his 2 MVPs represent enough about his positive accomplishments, the negative is that he could never carry his team to the championship, even though he's had the opportunity more than once.
  18. Unfortunately, from what I can tell, Rap music has become more of a business than an art (judging from most of the mainstream rap I've heard). It's like they've developed a formula for their CDs, singles, and videos based on creating a popular image of themselves to try to increase sales, versus making more creative content and just all-around enjoyable albums. That's the way I see rap music. I think it has potential, but as of right now, I just ignore it as well as most Pop and R&B music on the radio and in the top 100 list on iTunes.
  19. Exactly - their only similarity is that they both play the same position. It would be like an average high school PG that happened to play for a team that went to the state championship, and comparing him to the highest rated division 1 college PG. Doesn't mix.
  20. They completely re-did the gameplay, animations, and computer AI, plus they added the My Player mode - the undrafted rookie experience, and also did a complete overhaul of the online system where every mode in the game can be played online. All of the previous 2k NBA games are a joke compared to this one.
  21. That's great news. Eric has been a really good, smart, hardworking coach for the Heat, especially for Dwyane Wade. He was a huge reason in Wade's improvement in his shooting touch. If there's one reason Wade will stay in Miami in 2010, it's because of Eric. I'm glad to see he'll stay as the Heat coach for the long run.
