  1. Pro Football Talk - It appears as though the game-winning touchdown scored by the Cardinals on Sunday night against the Packers should have been negated. Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered a blow to the head and had his face mask pulled as Arizona defensive back Michael Adams collided with him on the play that led to Karlos Dansby's winning touchdown. One league source told Pro Football Talk via e-mail, "It should have been a personal foul grabbing the face mask and 15-yard penalty and a first down for Green Bay." When looking at the video, Pro Football Talk, points out that Rodgers appears to have had the football in his hands for three full seconds before getting hit by Adams. http://www.realgmfootball.com/src_wiretap_archives/15391/20100111/should_penalty_have_negated_arizonas_game_winning_td/

  7. i dont really see this working but so much for lakers. yes on paper it seems amazing but honestly, pau gasol was kinda complaining about the touches he was getting now, he prob get even more less touches if bosh come. also defensively bosh-pau front court seems kinda weak. if pau gasol gets hurt, who gonna play center then, mbenga? if he starts at c whos gonna be backup? but on toronto i think this deal will work wonders, a front court of bynum an bargani could be good.

  17. A source told Marc Berman that the Rockets' GM Daryl Morey is interested in either of the Knicks' two rookie draft picks -- Jordan Hill or Toney Douglas -- in exchange for Tracy McGrady. But Morey indicated that it could be difficult to find a match between the two teams. "There might not be a fit with New York because their goals don't necessarily meet our goals," Morey said. "I think they like him but there's an issue of fit." http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/63958/20100111/rockets_want_hill_or_douglas_from_knicks_for_t_mac/
  18. Miami president Pat Riley is going to look for a way to get under the NBA's luxury-tax threshold prior to February's trade deadline. The Miami Herald writes that a likely scenario would involve the Heat trading a low-salaried player to a team below the cap that could take on the contract without having to send a player back in return. Teams that finish the season below the league's $71.2 million luxury-tax threshold would be in line to receive an estimated $4.4 million rebate from a tax fund. "When you stop and think about exactly what that means, it's a $7 million swing," Riley said Sunday. "So that's nothing to sneeze at. If you have the ability to move in that direction, then you have to do it." Strictly from a numbers standpoint, dealing swingman Dorell Wright, who has a $2.9 million salary, would essentially wipe out Miami's tax. http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/63951/20100111/heat_looking_to_avoid_luxury_tax_bill/
  19. The New Jersey Nets have acquired forwards Kris Humphries and Shawne Williams from the from the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for Eduardo Najera, Nets President Rod Thorn announced today. Humphries, currently in his sixth NBA season, holds career averages of 4.3 ppg and 3.1 rpg in 313 games with Utah, Toronto and Dallas. Following three seasons in Toronto, Humphries was traded to Dallas this past offseason (7/9/09). This season, Humphries has played in 25 games for the Mavericks, averaging 5.6 ppg and 3.8 rpg in 12.6 mpg. Williams, currently in his fourth NBA season has career averages of 7.6 ppg and 3.7 rpg in 15 games with Indiana and Dallas. The former first round draft pick (17th overall) of the Pacers in 2006 has been on the Mavericks inactive list every game this season. http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/63957/20100111/najera_dealt_to_dallas/
