Brittany Murphy died early this morning after she went into full cardiac arrest and could not be revived, multiple sources tell TMZ. She was 32. A 911 call was made at 8:00 AM from a home in Los Angeles that is listed as belonging to her husband, Simon Monjack, the Los Angeles City Fire Department tells TMZ. We're told Murphy was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where she was pronounced dead on arrival. Murphy starred in such films as "Clueless," "8 Mile," and "Don't Say a Word." Mavericks owner Mark Cuban plans to file a protest with the NBA after his team's overtime loss to the Rockets on Friday night. "We will definitely protest," Cuban said, "because we felt there were multiple misapplications of the rules." The Mavericks contend referees didn't have the license to review a flagrant foul on Houston's Aaron Brooks in overtime that led to a technical foul on Mavericks' Erick Dampier. It marked Dampier's second technical, so he was ejected with 1:01 left in overtime. Dallas has 48 hours to formally file the protest, which costs $10,000. Mike Shanahan has been in discussions to become the Washington Redskins' next head coach, according to two NFL sources. The two sides still have some issues to work through, however, before an agreement is reached.
