  1. He won't be here this year, his offensive game is still raw and needs work, but there is no doubt he will be a very good defensive player when he comes over. If he can develop a nice offensive game he could really be something. Also I watched a couple summer games and have seen some clips of him playing overseas and it seems like he has good court vision, he's unselfish and can pass the ball pretty good.

  2. Mario Chalmers was the first Heat rookie to start all 82 games that says something. He was also top 5 in the NBA in steals. Beasley put up better rookie numbers than Chris Bosh his rookie season and his defense only got better as the season went on. Did the Cavs have anyone make All Rookie First Team like Beasley did? Daequan Cook isn't just a shooter he's also a very good defender and Dorrell, when healthy, will be a starter for us he just had a bad knee injury. Mo and Delonte aren't young so don't give me that crap.

The only young guys on your team are Hickson, Boobie who is complete trash compared to any of these guys and 2 guys I've never heard of.

I wasn't defending the Cavs 'young core'. I was pointing out how dead wrong you are about the Heat having a good young core. Because they don't.
  3. Boobie sucks..

Verejao is an overpaid role player

Mo isn't "young" and neither is Delonte

The other 2 I have no idea who they are

Not exactly a great core of young guys. The homerism never fails though.

    Miami has:

    Mario Chalmers

    Michael Beasley

    Daequan Cook

    Dorrell Wright

Lets take a look at your homerism. Mario Chalmers, basically a defensive specialist who will never be anything on offense besides a few games where he will occasionally put up big 3 point nights.

Michael Beasley, couldn't even get in the starting lineup because of how bad his defense is

Daequan Cook, a shooter who can't do anything else

Dorell Wright, can never play a full season.

Amazing young core you got right there.

  4. MILWAUKEE -- Trevor Hoffman was supposed to take his sons fishing. Instead, they're all headed back to the All-Star Game.

The career saves leader was a late addition to the National League squad, joining Pittsburgh left-hander Zach Duke for the Tuesday night game.

On the American League side, Tampa Bay first baseman Carlos Pena will replace Boston second baseman Dustin Pedroia, elected by fans to start. His wife, Kelli, is seven months pregnant and has been in the hospital since Monday with complications.

Hoffman, in his first season with the Milwaukee Brewers, will substitute for Los Angeles Dodgers closer Jonathan Broxton, who has an injured toe.

"You relish the opportunity," Hoffman said. "You don't know how often these come along."

The 41-year-old reliever said his sons -- Brody, Quinn and Wyatt -- didn't mind Dad's sudden change of All-Star break plans from fishing for three days in Wisconsin to a jam-packed trip to St. Louis.

"My kids are really excited. They've gotten older and been to quite a few, but they're starting to understand the dynamics that are part of it," Hoffman said. "It was a pretty easy sell."

Duke also was added to the NL staff. He replaces San Francisco starter Matt Cain, who took a line drive off his right arm Saturday night.

  5. I don't understand why Shin Soo Choo wasn't on the final ballot. He has better stats then just about everyone who was on that final 5.

Both of the guys who made it are the wrong choice as well. I think it should have been Sandoval/Kemp and then Adam Lind.

And the Tigers got two guys in, who just hit homers. Inge and Granderson did not deserve it.

  6. 1) Clippers - Blake Griffin (9)

    2) Grizzlies - Hasheem Thabeet (4)

    3) Thunder - James Harden (10)

    4) Kings - Tyreke Evans (8)

    5) Timberwolves - Ricky Rubio (6)

    6) Timberwolves - Jonny Flynn (2)

    7) Warriors - Stephen Curry (7)

    8) Knicks - Jordan Hill (3)

    9) Raptors - DeMar DeRozan (5)

    10) Bucks - Brandon Jennings (1)

Yeah exactly thats why they had to invent a saying for him lol

Mauer's biggest point of value is his biggest kill of value. Franchise catchers are very difficult to find, they are so difficult to find because they break down and get injured and have short careers. There is a reason only one catcher has hit over 400 homeruns in a season. I can't see a team putting together a huge package for Mauer knowing he plays catcher. Especially an NL team knowing Mauer only catches about 120 games a year. This is also the reason I can never see a team committing 200 Mil guaranteed to Mauer when he hits the FA market next year.

It may drive people away but he is the best player in the American League, and the best at a position where many aren't that good. And I guess you just have to believe he's going to stay healthy. I don't think he'll demand a 200 mill contract either, I think and hope he stays with Minnesota. He's from around there, would be a shame to see a player of his caliber leave his home town.
  8. Albert Pujols and Joe Mauer have the most trade value for any player in any sport, simply because of the Minor League game. You can get more value in the MLB on trades because of all the minor league prospects. And those two guys are the two best players in the league, even though Pujols is the best player, Mauer might be more valuable considering he is a catcher and finally found his power. And he is younger.

  9. He was overpaid, but we needed him back, and we needed him locked up. He'll probably be the starting Center when Shaq is gone, he is pretty much a double double guy when he starts, and he is a pretty good defender. He has improved every year on his offensive game. His flopping hurts his reputation but he isn't a bad player at all. One of the quicker centers as well. And more importantly he's a friend of LeBron, so anything to help the cause to get him to sign back.
