My name is Basel; I was born on April 11, 1986, in Syria. I came to the United States on February 1, 1988 and have been here since. I have made three trips back (1992, 1995, 2009), and the most recent trip was truly one of the most memorable experiences I've ever had. It was easily one of the best months of my life. I can speak Arabic fluently, but I can't read or write it. I live in Southern California, and I absolutely love it. I am an absolutely huge Lakers fan. Anybody that knows me even slightly knows that about me. If you guys were to take a look at my room, you'd think I'm a little crazy with how much Lakers things I have in it, whether it's posters, paintings, action figures, Mr. Potato Heads, or Monopoly. I became a Lakers fan in about 1993-94 as I would watch the games with my dad & older brother. Nick Van Exel was my favorite player for a while, and then I also grew to like Kobe Bryant & Robert Horry. They are my 3 favorite players of all time, and I'm glad I could say that I got to watch all 3 of them.

Random facts about me: Friends is my favorite television show, and I'm in love with Jennifer Aniston (as well as Stacy Keibler, Rachel McAdams, Mila Kunis, Zooey Deschanel, etc.). Some of my favorite movies are Dumb & Dumber, Wedding Crashers, The Departed, Titanic, John Q., and plenty, plenty more. I currently own over 130 DVD's, so I'm a big fan of a lot of movies. My favorite color is red. I have one brother and no sisters, and most of my cousins from my mom's side all live within a 10-minute radius. It's pretty great. Eminem is my favorite musician (and yes, he is better than 2pac), though I can listen to just about anything (ranging anywhere from Eminem to Justin Timberlake to Kelly Clarkson to Elvis Presley to Kid Rock...and so on and so forth). I used to work at Best Buy in the Home Theater department, but after nearly two years of working there, I got fed up with management and I quit. I haven't had a job since (not that I've really been looking). I have my digital camera with me everywhere I go; I love taking pictures of anything and everything. I own an iPhone and it's far and away the best phone I've ever seen. I've been a professional wrestling fan since I was two-years-old. I don't follow it nearly as much as I used to, but I still keep tabs on what's going on for the most part. My favorite wrestler of all time is Bret Hart, followed closely by Undertaker. I was attending the University of California, Riverside before getting kicked out for having bad grades. I don't know that I'll ever graduate from college as I really don't want to go back. We'll see what happens, though.
