  1. I think this one goes to Raptors. They're still one of the most efficient offensive teams even if defense isn't there. The only way I see Chicago winning is if Salmons steps up.
  2. He's usually a bit of a liability on offense, but his defense is better than Drew's and that's what we need.
  3. Great movie! But to keep the MJ vs. Kobe argument even we need a MJ video that's as good as this one lol. Honestly. I like to think that I try to keep myself as unbiased as possible, but after watching that I feel that Kobe is a God.
  4. I'm not concerned for the Magic at all. They'll get back to elite. It seems that Redick has come back to earth though.
  5. Well what I wanna know is how often we're going to bring Kobe to the post when Gasol and Bynum comes back. Tonight our bigs cleared the block for Kobe and exploited this. I don't think that will be the case once Gasol and Bynum come back. Sure we'll see it more often than last year, but not as much as we've seen in the last 3 games. Also despite our shortages, Hornets are still thin with talent, and West wasn't playing aggressive at all. But I dunno why CP3 didn't show up tenacious. Hornets were playing unmotivated.
  6. The shot clock thing could have gone either way. But I had a feeling that Lebron was pacing himself throughout the game to get ready for the second of the back to back. Shaq just owns Brad Miller. And great play from D Rose.
  7. Chicago should really stop trying to put Brad Miller in positions where he's supposed to finish. Also Capt Kirk has pretty dumb turnovers so far. Shaq is playing pretty well.
  8. Did KD choke or was it the presence of Ron that did him in? Maybe it was both? I have a feeling it was mostly a choke. Durant threw 2 airballs right? 0-8 from the three? He's usually gold from behind the arc. What do you guys think? Maybe he's bruised by Artest. I was hoping for a better performance from KD (also Kobe but more KD).
  9. I'll assume that you didn't see when Lakers played the hawks. Kobe guarded Joe Johnson in the first quarter when he had the hot hand. He made 7 for 8. Later, Artest switched to defend J Johnson and the result was 1 for 8. Now you can't tell me that Ariza is a better defender than Kobe. Kobe can defend players that Ariza defends but better. These players are quick players, and Lakers have never had a problem with those types. As for bigger players, you should know how well Lebron does against Artest as a Rocket fan, and that's what I mean about complementing our team. There's not too many players at all who can go through Kobe then go through Artest consistently. The only reason why you think Artest is overrated defensively is because he was a main scoring option in Houston. Here we tell him to be a defensive specialist. There's no way you can do both assignments expecting to maximize the potential in both. We're not telling him to score the most points on the team while also guarding Kobe. We have 3 to 4 scoring options that want touches ahead of Artest and that's why I'm disregarding scoring. We have our scoring aspect down. We want defense. And of course we want Ariza. I'd be crazy to pass him up. He's honestly better than any of our 3 point "specialist." But you can't have everything. It's just that we need Artest's defense more.
  10. Artest's overall game complements our team better than Ariza. I'm happy for Houston that ARiza is starting to break out, but knowing what I know now, I would still make this trade. We need Artest's defensive presence more than we need Ariza's fantastic role playing. Looking at our team before the trade you would still see a "soft" team, despite the talks about us overcoming that. But looking at our team now, there's no way you'd want to push around this team and that was a problem against the Nuggets and Boston. And scoring shouldn't even be a stat to compare since Lakers are filled with prolific scorers. Artest's defense became evident against Atlanta when he shut down J Johnson's hot hand. With Ariza around we would have been overwhelmed. As for Brandon Roy? Kobe can get him. It'd be a slow paced game anyway. Artest complements us better than Ariza while Houston needs Ariza more. Although it would be great to have kept him while still having Artest . He's turning out to be quite a sharp shooter, but you can't have everything.
  11. I wanna build a team around the Dream so here it goes. I'm kinda embarrassed that this team is pretty Laker dominant, but let's face it, if I'm gunna have the dream at PF i'm passing on KG. The Greatest Hakeem Olajuwon Current Dominant Players Kobe All-Star Level (pick one) Pau Gasol Rookies (pick one)Brandon Jennings Defender (pick one) Raja Bell Stars (pick two) Ron Artest Shaquille O'Neal Problematic: Inconsistent, Injured, or Implosive (pick one) Delonte West Coach Phil Jackson Primary Scorer Kobe Facilitator The Dream STARTERS C - Shaq PF - The Dream SF - Ron Artest SG - Kobe Bryant PG - Delonte West BENCH SG/SF - Raja Bell PG/SG - Brandon Jennings PF/C - Pau Gasol COACH Phil Jackson running the triangle This is a very defensive lineup. And even though the coach isn't very defensive, with this lineup, man to man defense will still work well. With defense taken care of, the triangle will make a fluid offense while also utilizing the post for everyone in the lineup. This is the lineup I like best with the Dream. I chose Shaq because he's still very dominant in the Center Position. He can still stir up some trouble with the best of them, and if not, then I can rotate Hakeem to Center and Gasol to PF. The strong point in this lineup is Gasol is my 6th man which will cause much problems with the other team. I like my lineup because it consists of two great finesse and versatile PF/C while also having the ability to have a Dominant center. The backcourt is also pretty stacked. Everyone is a good on-ball defender who can also shoot the 3. I chose Jennings because i'm not watching many of the rookies and he seemed he has already shown he can score. Also mostly because I need a PG backup. I chose Kobe as the primary scorer because I want him to be able to get the ball in his hands whenever he has one of those 81 days. If he doesn't then the the Dream can just work the post. I chose the triangle to allow myself to not worry about getting a real PG.
  12. I dunno.... Phil Jackson usually does well with teams consisting of a player with Ron Harper type profile. I'd settle if Shannon Brown waxed his head. Seriously though, Fisher's minutes are going down already this season, and I believe our guards need someone to keep them grounded. Also his longevity in the game is an inspiration. I would agree that PJ needs to start a different pg though.
  13. he'll do better once tmac comes in. And of course, when he becomes more comfortable.
  14. Yes this was a big for Xbox, but now, it's being overmilked and overplayed. As a result, Xbox's momentum is slowing down. Maybe they'll have a big title later, but right now PS3 is making an attempt at a huge run for this year's holidays. And don't forget about the article in the original topic saying that PS3 is selling at a faster rate.
  15. All of his shots were good shots. Chucking is if you constantly take dumb shots. Laker fans see it far more than you guys. And if we're switching to subject to Houston, they're potential won't be seen until T-mac returns. Until then we don't know how well Ariza fits in the system. Then, you gotta look at the competition. Suns and Clippers may also do well enough to compete for the 8th seed.
  16. Lol Halo 3 is 360s best game based on overall gameplay. Nothing really comes close on the PS3. It's smooth control and online system works really well. But basically, 360 has had better years than PS3 riding on the momentum of it's initial launch and a few good games like Gears and Halo. However, it seems like it's slowing down. PS3 had a horrible launch and until now, they've been running mostly on cross console games with very few exceptions. Overall, it seems that the PS3 is starting to make a run starting now with the release of the slim, uncharted, and god of war.
  17. I doubt it. The East is stronger than it was last year. I mean first you have the Wizards coming back with Arenas then you have Raptors finally having a playoff caliber team. The Heat is getting older and more experienced as well so I don't see them moving out of the playoffs. I suppose if Luol Deng gets injured, then maybe. But if anything, I'd say they'd be looking in at 9th or 10th.
  18. Voted good. Really hope he stays out of injury though.
  19. Eastern Conference: 1. Magic 2. Cavs 3. Celtics 4. Raptors 5. Heat 6. Hawks 7. Bulls 8. Wizards Western Conference: 1. Lakers 2. Spurs 3. Nuggets 4. Blazers 5. Mavs 6. Jazz 7. Hornets 8. Suns I feel that Kleiza was a good piece off the bench that Nuggets lost. And health is a big issue in the East for me for Shaq and KG. Magic just seems like it would have the least problems there of the Eastern elite. I'm looking forward to seeing how Mavs will do this year though. I also like the Raptors this year. EDIT: Completely forgot Atlanta
  20. I can't argue with you there. The 360 controllers were a big improvement on the xbox ones. Just a good feel. But personally i play fps on mouse & keyboard.
  21. lol ya i know right takes a gaming topic to get me to post. But what i wanted to say about the PS2 is that it's a same 10 year plan they have for PS3. I assure you that more 360 users have ran into more problems than PS3 users. Now I don't know much about the red ring thing, but I know I have one in my apartment and that it happesn a lot. And of course Blu-ray is being outsold by DVD. DVD is old technology. For a very long time the PS3 was a good price for Blu-ray, but now that time has passed, you can buy blu ray players for $100 probably less.
  22. Blu-ray is still the future so PS3. It's not noticeable now, but with more games starting to come out exclusively for the PS3, you'll notice the big difference between the two systems. You'll start to see more and more games on the 360 coming out with multiple DVD discs just to keep up with the Blu-ray and most developers haven't even utilized the dual layered blu-ray. You also gotta be impressed with Sony's 10 year plan with the PS2. People with the PS2 have had games coming in for 10 years while the regular XBOX hasn't gotten that same 10 year value. Reliablility. Sony has reliability over Microsoft hands down.
