  1. Checked an old email addy today and I had some messages from here. I wasn't around long originally but I do remember the site. How's it going? You guys know I'm good. C H A M P S
  2. That's what I am saying. Bill would have a point to make...if the Heat were done assembling their roster. Either way, on paper, the Heat are title contenders right now....how could they not be? The "Bro-Pact" plus Chalmers, Miller, and what should be Haslem & Raja Bell, that's plenty to be put into contention status.
  3. Bell is still a top on-the-ball defender, he's plays dirty, and we need that kinda guy. I like Bosh but he's soft as baby [expletive], Bell adds a little muscle. I think Udonis comes back and plus Mike Miller....we good. Depth is going to be rough but I'll take Juwan Howard over some of the scrubs the Celts put together in the first season of their big 3. We need to get Kwame to sign for a minimum deal. I'll actually take Kwame or Benjamin Wallace to stand their asses in the paint and rebound.
  4. I find Simmons to be a moron but he's entitled to his opinion. The Heat are an instant title contender with 3 All-Stars fronting the line-up...I thought we've all come to terms with the fact that's pretty obvious at this point.
  5. My bad, I read a tweet from him that night....totally misread the damn thing. I just read a lot of what he's been saying and it's totally in LBJ's favor.
  6. Making jokes now...huh? Memory serves me correct, Ocho Cinco didn't have the nicest things to say about LBJ's decision 48 hours ago.
  7. Oh yea, the articles from TMZ would be pasted all over that forum.
  8. I usually hate posting long-[expletive] articles but this one is a great read. Haters out there need to edumacate themselves a little better. Courtesy of Scoop Jackon:
  9. Biggest losers of free agency have to be the Nets. I can understand banking on LBJ and losing out...but now they are just foolishly locking in mediocre players to horrible deals. Outside of drafted Favors, I really don't know what's to like about the next 3 years of the Nets.
  10. Guess what Barkley....LeBron isn't interested in being Kobe or Jordan. What I do find funny though...even if LeBron wanted to be Kobe or Jordan, he needs rings on his fingers. Apparently putting himself in an amazing position to get those rings makes him even less like Kobe or Jordan. But yes, LeBron will never be bigger than the game itself...but neither will anybody else not named "Jordan". At the same time, LeBron will never be committing adultery all along the western United States. The LeBron hate is getting old and it's time to let LeBron James be LeBron James. STOP COMPARING HIM.
  11. That video is [expletive]ing awesome. I wish I had the graphic ability to make [expletive] like that.
  12. I don't think Lebron is leaving Cleveland either but I find it interesting that Marbury had to include that comment in his announcement that he's sitting out the season. Perhaps the only way this story would reach so many media markets? I would like the know exactly what business opportunities Steph has to explore this year?
  13. I realized Kobe was truly in his prime when he completely took over one particular game and dropped 81 points. Kobe was good with Shaq but he really came into his own after Shaq was gone. It says a lot when Kobe can average only 28 ppg and still the Lakers lock up the Western Conference. Kobe on the floor is amazing, obviously, he's a playmaker, a finisher, plays with or w/o the ball. On the sidelines he's definitely the best leader in the game. All the time you see Kobe talking up his team, talking plays and orchestrating. Put it this way, #24 Kobe = Kobe in his prime.
  14. ^ What he said. Doesn't my typo about playing "in the heart of Kansas" sort of give it away?
  15. Denver Nuggets Love the color scheme, the home jerseys are sleek but the other 2 uni's make me want to puke. I really dislike the satin shine of their road uniforms and it irks the hell out of me that their alternate jerseys feature a different font and a darker color yellow. The alts just don't match the rest of the set. Final Grade: 5 Minnesota Timberwolves I am actually a much bigger fan of the look the T-Wolves were wearing when KG debuted in the league. This current look has way too much going on with it for my taste and I consider it tacky. I cannot stand the effort to include a forest on the side panels, I hate the triangles on the collar and the piping/shapes that makeout the seams of the jersey are just too overboard. Final Grade: 3 Portland Trailblazers The Blazers organization has done a fantastic job over the years of upgrading a classic look w/o completely transforming it. The angled lines along their jerseys may be the most identifiable uniform trait of any team and I am so happy they never did away with those. The Blazers are living proof that a team can improve/update their uniforms w/o completely changing color schemes and/or adding all this unnecessary design. Final Grade: 9 Oklahoma City Thunder I also thought that the name "OKC Thunder" would garner some pretty nasty uniform designs....but I am disappointed. What OKC is wearing is horrible by NBA D-League standards and I've seen countless concept designs by fans that blow this design out of the water. I hate everything from their lame-[expletive] logo to the double stacking of city name on their road set. Final Grade: 2 Utah Jazz Much like the Nuggets' design, I have love & hate with what the Utah Jazz are wearing. While I love their color scheme and home uni set, I am not so much a fan of their road uniforms or the fact that they have "Utah" and "Jazz" spelled out across their shorts. How about using a logo on the shorts side panels instead? I think the Jazz would be better served using the classic uniform design (Stockton/Malone era) with the updated team colors. Nothing disappoints me more than seeing mountains replace the music note as their primary logo. Final Grade: 6
  16. You make a solid argument for Darko but because Al Harrington is such a good fit at the 4, David Lee will remain at center and Darko backing him up. Harrington has nay-sayers but his style fits in well with the running offense and he's got a great long range shot. I really feel like David Lee should of been an All-Star last season. The guy averaged 15.5 ppg, 11.5 rpg and 5 bpg last by the midway point of last season...predominantly at center. I see Lee as being the best offensive option for D'Antoni's system and as some have already point out, how much does D'Antoni value defense?
  17. Not if they doing it for the sole purpose of holding those domain names for a hefty ransom and/or profiting off then by installing a bogus website. Yes, you could give the argument that we live in a "Free Country" but pulling a move like that is a pretty [expletive]ty and in reality, misleading and not gonna happen.
  18. Nothing pisses me off more than when nerds do that and its about time somebody finally stepped up to the plate and did something about it. Athletes and celebs shouldn't have to pay a ransom in order to use their own namesakes' web address.
  19. New voters, check out the following thread for all the info on what we are doing here: http://www.otrbasketball.com/forums/topic/6255-nba-uni-finals/ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - NORTHWESTERN DIVISION http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/4319/bos1.gif
  20. Tell me this isn't proof that our economy is in horrible shape right now. The Bengals are off to a phenomenal start this season and not enough are buying tickets to their home games. This will probably be one of the first times I have ever thought highly of Chad Ochocinco.
  21. Dwyane Wade returned to the floor and both Mario Chalmers and Michael Beasley played in familiar territory as Miami got their first pre-season win Thursday night. Beasley had 11 points and 11 rebounds as the Heat defeated the New Orleans Hornets, 97-81, in front of a crowd of over 17,000 at the Sprint Center in the heart of Kansas. Along with the return of Chalmers and Beasley, the Kansas crowd welcomed back the return of Hornets F Julian Wright. Miami opened both the first and second quarters on a 17-4 run and didn't look back. Dwyane Wade returned to the court after missing 2 games with a rib injury. Wade posted 14 points and 6 assists in 23 minutes of play. Daequan Cook lead the Heat offense with 15 points.
  22. The sky is NOT blue! According to Stephen Jackson. I hope he is stuck on the Warriors forever.
  23. List is weak, SMH. NO Pink Floyd, NO Rage Against the Machine, Motorhead & Red Hot Chili Peppers way down at the bottom...
  24. David Lee is the team's best rebounder and Jeffries is the best shot blocker. Like I said, both guys are "long" players but can defend in the post. Exactly what makes you think otherwise? A farm animal is an upgrade over Eddy Curry period...but Darko isn't a better player than David Lee. The guy about 12 pts, 3 blocks, 9 boards last season...but he's not going to be on the floor in D'Antoni's offense for 36 minutes per.
  25. The red was adopted as their road jerseys but they still wear the blue on occasion. http://blogs.dallasobserver.com/sportatorium/Devin%20Harris%20-%20Jason%20Kidd.jpg
