  1. So let me get this straight you are leaving because you cant stand one of the thousand members here. Yeah that makes complete sense.

lol one of the thousand? there's like ten, maybe fifteen active members here, bro. he's already banned two of my favorite members in the last week. who's to say he won't just continue to ban people? that's why I can't take it anymore. I did all I possibly could to not go against him and to just follow everyone else, but there's only so far I can go. when he tells me I mean nothing to the site and that everyone else is more important and when he bans people just for saying one bad thing about the Lakers - it gets to me. I don't want to be part of a site where people can't even express themselves.

  2. That is a weak ass excuse just say you cant even leave this place because you like this place so much.

I [expletive]ing love this place, dude. I wouldn't have posted here every day for like the last six months if I didn't. I just can't stand RD and his dictating ways. he's the only reason I'm leaving.

  3. By the way, we're not going to ban you. At least not now. I'll wait until you come crawling back because other sites just don't cut it, begging for a second chance...and then I'll throw down the hammer.

you think you're so smart. 'I won't give him the satisfaction of banning him now. I'll wait until he comes back, we'll say we'll give him another chance, then we'll ban him when he least expects it.' I've been doing this for years, bro. I know exactly how pieces of shit like you think. you'd be doing yourself a disservice by not banning me now. I'll just go ahead and spam the place if you don't. you don't think I'm serious? try me.

  4. I never said that. It was obvious I wasn't referring to Martin because I clearly stated that a player wouldn't have reason to do it if he hit a jumper in the third quarter, shooting badly. Did Kenyon Martin trash talk in the third quarter, or was it at the end of the game?

I've put up with your shit for as long as possible. how did I know you'd ban MS like a little bitch? he tried debating with you like a man, but you're clearly too much of a child to handle anyone talking down on your team.

you're the epitome of a forum nazi. anyone who disagrees with you gets banned. get a [expletive]ing life, dude. do something besides obsess over the Lakers all day. you're a complete and utter joke. if anyone says anything controversial at all about the Lakers or Kobe, they're gone forever.

I hope it was all worth it for you. you banned two (about to be three) good, active members from your site just because you wanted to go on a little power trip. you love nothing more than to control your members and tell them what and what not to do on your forum. controlling people is your forte - you would have made a hell of a slave owner.

I did all I could to fit in here, but I just can't put up with your shit anymore. you treat members like this and wonder why your site is far more inactive than HN. a year or two from now, you'll have no one left here because they will have all grown tired of your senseless shit. keep loving the Lakers, man - none of us have the right to say anything bad about them at all, ever. I'm sure you're gonna make Kobe feel better by sucking his dick after that embarrassing loss today.

I'm out. I'm gonna go somewhere that actually tolerates people's opinions. I need a site with an owner who doesn't permanently ban members for doing practically nothing. if you would have reread that 'Gasol is soft topic' you'd see that MS was actually defending the Lakers at first. I was repping your posts as well. but hey, that's not enough for you. you needed to ban someone to make your day. I'll let you do it again. go ahead and ban me. I'm sure you'll feel much, much better about yourself. can't wait to see the Lakers lose in the finals this year. peace out, you worthless piece of shit.

  5. He came here baiting the Laker fans, trashing the community. He stated that most of the site was Lakers fans (in the gameday topic), which is absolutely false...and I proved that. He mouthed off about them in the gameday topic. He is in this topic ONLY for that very reason.

where did he 'trash the community?'

And if you think something is wrong with OTR, go put up your own damn site, message me in a year and tell me how things are going.

I love this site and its members - I acknowledged that in my last post.

Here's what's wrong with OTR: every month or so, we run into trolls, and I do my best to keep them here. We also run into unintelligent posters that I wait for, waiting for them to change and start respecting all 30 fanbases. I'm hard as hell on the Heat, but I won't look like a dumbass and say that LeBron isn't a top three player in the NBA. Same with Wade. I've stated that the Heat can get to the Finals. It's all based on what I watch, not my team and who I hate.

you're confusing trolls with people who just have different opinions. if MS came in here and started trashing Kobe and saying all these horrible things - that would be one thing. all he's doing here, though, is making arguments as to why he thinks some other players are better. I don't see the problem there. trust me, this guy isn't here to bait or troll. I know the kind of member he is from reading hundreds of posts on HN. he's extremely mature and he knows the game very well. what him and I posted in this topic isn't worthy of bashing.

Don't talk shit on my guys. They have put in far, far more than you have around here. They have done much more for this site. When they see someone that is similar to the other trolls we've had over the last six years, they will call them out.

    fair enough.

Go ahead and stick yourself in the same boat, dude. We'll continue posting, with or without you. Trust me.

what boat? all I've done is respect this site and its members since joining here. anytime you've confronted me about something, I followed your orders and did my best to stick to the script. I make one tiny complaint about the site and suddenly I'm public enemy #1? I just don't get it, man.

  6. MaddSkillz is STL version 2.0. Dick rides MJ and looks at stats as god. If you actually watch the game Kobe is the closest thing to MJ you will ever get.

you're judging who someone is as a member based off three or four posts. what's so bad about someone having a different opinion? having read many of MS's posts on HN, I can safely say he respects Kobe's skill. just because he thinks there's a few players better than Kobe doesn't mean he thinks Kobe sucks.

you guys are basically chasing him away from the site just because he has a different opinion. his posts in this topic were as informative, compelling, and impressive as anyone's, but because you don't agree with what he says, none of that matters. rather than at least acknowledging the time and effort he puts into his argument, you just insult him and wait for other immature members to give you rep. that my friends, is what's wrong with OTR. don't get me wrong - I love this site. I love the members. but this - this is ridiculous.

  7. You get the green light to do something like that if you have reason to. You can't run your chops if you're 1-12 shooting, and you hit a jumper with five minutes to go in the third quarter.

getting a rebound off a free throw and subsequently putting the game away isn't reason enough to get vocal? K-Mart scored 18 points on 8-15 shooting. he also had 8 rebounds, a block, and an assist. he played as well as anyone in this game.

  8. i'm perplexed at how a player can be criticized for showing emotion. if he decided to do that when the Nuggets were still down, I'd understand the scrutiny, but he just put a dagger through their hearts. he won them the game after making an almost impossible play and he gets backlash for being vocal and thumping his chest. I don't get it, this is professional sports. it's not like it's Sunday afternoon tea and crumpets.

  9. I don't mind Kenyon getting all excited... it's a game-sealing bucket. But would have preferred him not to... the problem I have with that is it says, "I did that, I'm the man!" instead of "WE did it!". Gotta get rid of me me attitude from Melo era... it's all "us" and "team" now.

but what he did individually helped the team win as a whole. that's what makes it special.

  10. Good info.

All the while, Rose should also learn from the old Chinese saying that “The fattest pig always gets slaughtered.” This means that if a man chooses to stand out front and say things that people don’t want to hear, he has to keep his “game tight” and not give his enemies an opportunity to destroy him. By engaging in irresponsible behavior, Jalen is opening the door for others to ruin his reputation, for haters are always watching when you try to do the right thing.

hilarious and true at the same time lol. I enjoyed this article.

  11. Former NBA player and Fab Five member Jalen Rose was suspended indefinitely by ESPN after reports surfaced that Rose had been arrested for drunk driving. According to ESPN, Rose was being sent to the bench for not reporting the incident to the network. Rose allegedly failed a blood-alcohol test after his truck crashed in Bloomfield, Michigan on March 11. The incident didn’t get to ESPN until a Detroit station contacted the network to get more details for their own story.

“Jalen has accepted full responsibility for his actions. Both parties are taking this very seriously, and as a result, we’ve agreed that he will not be on our air while he addresses this situation,” ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz said in an e-mail to USA Today.

The Poynter Institute Review Project Blog, a partnership between ESPN and the Poynter Institute, cited Rose for allowing a competitor to tell the story before ESPN. The group serves to provide an independent examination of all of ESPN’s media outlets. The Poynter folks seemed to feel that Roses’ actions compromise ESPN by making it appear that they were working to cover it up.

  12. Lmao, not sure if srs.

i'm completely serious. basketball is a game of matchups. we don't stack up well against this team. Lopez and Hump are going to have their way with us on the boards and D-Will's going to abuse whoever's guarding him. unless LeBron and Wade perform above expectations, we're not going to lose.

  13. it was a good move for the long-term success of the franchise. Jordan wanted to shed that contract and get younger. by getting draft picks for Wallace, they save money and improve for the future. I like the direction they're headed, but yeah, Michael's done poorly in regards to drafting. doesn't he have scouts? lol.

  14. However, having the gameday topics the way they are now means that a potential 3-4 page Lakers/Jazz topic (let's just say it's a playoff game that means something) would be moved to the Jazz forum if it's at Utah.

well, for the playoffs, we'd stick with the current formula of making topics for each series.

I just thought this might be good idea for a few reasons:

    1. team forums never become cluttered with gameday topics

    2. all gameday discussion stays in the gameday forum

    3. makes it easier to look at discussion for all games

but I see where you're coming from as well. if the members like the way it is now, we should keep it that way.
