This came out yesterday or the day before. It's just a potential excuse for when he gets torchehd by Moss. He might not be able to back up his talk, so he's throwing this out there as an excuse. There's a reason this didn't come out right after the Ravens game. He now knows that he may have said a few too many words and needs a potential excuse. It's a pretty lame move.

What's so bad about playing with him?

It was definitely the offensive-line that cost them their first game........... . C'MON MAN!

Moss and the all-time greatest WRs
EastCoastNiner replied to Real Deal's topic in AFC Conference Discussion
Anyways, let's just get this back on topic. There was no need to start and HB list just because someone mentioned that they thought Rice/Brown were the two best ever. -
Damn, that's pretty funny. . However, I expect Jackson, Owens, Daniels, Ryan and the defense to improve. On the other hand, Arian Foster won't be doing that all season long, nor will the Giants D/ST. With that said, Andre, Calvin, and DeAngelo won't be doing that poorly.

Moss and the all-time greatest WRs

No, I listen to interviews of players that were ON Barry's team that have said that and players that played during his era said the exact same thing. If you think his O-Line was anything more than poor, you are out of your mind. Smith was not better than Payton, Brown, Sanders, Cambell, Dickerson, Sears, Simpson, or Jackson. I'm not going with the crap longevity argument when it's easy not to get banged up running behind arguably the greatest offensive-line ever assembled. That's the reason you want to bring it up because they skill just isn't there compared to those HB's. Barry faced 8 man boxes, where team didn't have to focus on Smith nearly as much because they shifted their focus to Aikmen and Irvin. It's really not that hard to rush for as many yards as he did when you have his O-line. Not to mention the QB carousel that the Lions had during Barry's career. Did Barry Sanders ever had FOUR offensive-linemen in the pro-bowl at once, along with with a pro-bowl FB, pro-bowl TE, pro-bowl QB, and pro-bowl WR all in the same season? No, he didn't. You want to play the longevity card because quit frankly, you can't play the talent card with Smith in this situation. Longevity has to do with awareness, and most of all luck. I could play 15 seasons if I never got hit with four hogs in front of me. -

You're just a biased Dallas fan. Very few people outside of Dallas would even consider him. Also, the Detroit Lions offensive-line was pretty much a college line. Barry made those guys look better than they were, and they still sucked. He had a lot of negative carries because they couldn't block worth [expletive]. -

No, just no. Very few people outside of Dallas would even consider him in the top five. Anyone could have run through his O-Line. -
No, it's the other Plek......Vladmir Plekanovic.

I'll go with Skip Bayless.........

I could possibly trade Jamal Charles....

People still play Halo? . That games garbage.

It's pretty funny that 3/5 CBS sports-writers picked the 49er's to win. They must have though last week was an early trap game...... -

Rice has 129 more TD's than Irvin. Any way you want to slice it, that's not even close. And, don't disrespect Moss by putting Irvin in the same sentence as him. Moss has already accomplished more than Irvin ever has. And, yes, most of your selection has to do with him going to Miami. -

When you have 129 less TD receptions than another WR, that is not just the system. . I think what it's called is....."The U". -

I didn't. . Out of the WR's this decade, I'd put Holt at # 3 or #4 behind Moss, Owens, and possibly Harrison. -

I'm still bewildered at how you guys can list Michael Irvin as 1b. or even number two. He's not even in the same realm as Jerry Rice, and that's not an exaggeration. He retired holding NFL records for: * Touchdowns (208), receiving TDs (197), receiving TDs in a season (22), consecutive games with a TD reception (13), TDs in Super Bowls (8), receiving TDs in a single Super Bowl (3) and postseason TDs (22). * Receptions (1,549), consecutive games with a reception (274), receptions in Super Bowls (33) and postseason receptions (151). * Receiving yards (22,895), receiving yards in a season (1,848), receiving yards in Super Bowls (589), receiving yards in a Super Bowl (215), postseason receiving yards (2,245) and seasons with at least 1,000 yards receiving (14). Not to mention he recorded 69 TD's in a 5 season span, which is more than Michael Irvin had his entire career. -

I misread the list, but that doesn't excuse you from the players you listed from 2-4. . -

Rice BLOWS away Huston in every possible way. Just because you lead the league in categories with a bunch of [expletive]ty WR's doesn't make you great. . Let's see how Huston and the other WR's would do in today's NFL where players are built like tanks, run extremely fast, and are much more talented. -
