  1. Missions trip, taught English for a couple of weeks. I was also in Kraków for a few days, and that was close to being my top pick. I didn't care for the humidity or all the tourists, though. Still an amazing city.
  2. Szczecin, Poland - Gorgeous port city that borders Germany and the Baltic Sea. It's a huge city, and you can tell by the buildings and cobble-stone streets that it's very old, yet retains it's beauty. Weather is wonderful during the summer, which makes being outside there a treat. Huge parks, many sites of interest, and the people, most especially the people there, make it one of my favorite cities to visit. Can't wait to go back.
  3. We're pretty easy on baiting and such here, as long as its not overboard. If you're going to take a jab at a team/fanbase/player, at least try to include reasons behind it. For example: "The Knicks are a terrible franchise. Here's why: 1. Reason 2. Reason 3. Reason 4. Reason Ect, ect, ect." Is that trolling? No, because at least you're including reasons for your argument/opinion. Kingfish, you didn't include any reasoning in your original post. You were straight up trolling. Don't do that. With that out of the way, let's get back on topic please.
  4. I'm registered as an independent, though my political views favor towards being conservative/libertarian. For these mid-term elections, I voted for more libertarians than republicans. I even voted for a democrat or two. Point is, I vote for who I think is the best fit for office, and I don't let a party influence me in that decision. With me being in California though, all my votes were pretty much in vain. Sucks, but what can you do about it.
  5. Kobe's triple-double came so effortlessly, it seemed. Our defense wasn't as sharp tonight, but I guess that's to be expected on the tail end of a back-to-back. I'm also loving how great our chemistry is right now, especially with Blake and Barnes coming off the bench. They're doing great considering how early in the season it is. 5-0!
  6. I'd figure that Jerry Brown would win, but it makes me incredibly depressed to see that Boxer won. She's so useless.
  7. Welcome aboard! Looking forward to some great basketball discussion with ya. I know our resident Grizzlies fan will be thrilled to have another fan around. :glasses:
  8. If you have a Wii, you should get the Resident Evil remake for it. It's the first game, but completely redone graphic wise for the Wii, and it looks amazing. Probably the scariest game I've seen (watched my little brother play through it).
  9. He told reporters he was 100% so they can stop asking how his knee is. He HATES talking about his injuries, and I think he finally just had enough of it. I'd say he's about 90% right now. Still missing some lift and lateral movement, but he's getting there.
  10. Hmmm. These aren't really in order, too hard to rate them, but here's my top ten. 1. Final Fantasy VI 2. World of Warcraft 3. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater 4. Assassin's Creed II 5. Super Smash Bros. Melee 6. StarCraft 7. Pokemon Yellow 8. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 9. Final Fantasy X 10. Goldeneye 007
  11. The Raptors are showing a nice stretch of defense, making the Cavs work hard every offensive possession. Also, the Raptors spacing on offense is good, allowing for some nice assists.
  12. I was super excited to hear that Daft Punk would be composing the soundtrack for the movie, and after hearing this bit I can't friggin' wait. The movie looks to be sick, and with this kind of music going with it....ahhhh.
  13. A couple of those offensive possessions were just horrendous though. Two of them within a short span resulted in air-balls/shot clock violations. Great win for Cleveland, and great the see the fans get behind their team like that.
  14. Nice win by the Nets. Williams not hitting those two free-throws almost cost them the game, but they held on.
  15. Missed out on all the gameday posts, but wow! What an opening game that was. Looks like Houston is going to be better than people expect them to be this year, and as long as Yao stays healthy, I would think they would be a strong presence in the western conference.
  16. Congrats guys! I look forward to ordering you around helping you out with your new duties.
  17. Slowly but surely my parents have started to cross-over into blu-ray. We picked up Beauty and the Beast, and my GOD, does this film look gorgeous on blu-ray. Disney did an amazing job with the transfer, and it shows. Audio sounds amazing as well. I mean, look at this. http://images.blu-ray.com/reviews/3299_1.jpg I didn't think that older movies like this could benefit much from a blu-ray transfer, but I was wrong.
  18. We look into mass emailing it, but there was several snags. One, you have to pay for that service. Two, AOL email address tend to flag mass emails like that as spam. Not sure if there was a way to work around that or not. Quality of the newsletter will improve with time.
  19. To kick off the start of the new season, I've started a monthly newsletter for the site. It's not super fancy, but it recaps news about the site every month. It also has news links, an article from one our own writers, and a member spotlight. Just a little extra thing for you guys to enjoy here. http://www.otrbasketball.com/newsletter/october_2010.pdf You can download it, or view it in your web browser. Enjoy.
  20. Sucks for the fans. Hopefully they can get a refund on their tickets.
  21. The game just got canceled due to "unplayable conditions". The court was too slippery, apparently.
  22. Steve Blake - 18 points, 7 assists, 8-10 FG
