  1. ...and that Bosh dunk makes it game.
  2. Battier and Bosh, timely rotations to stop Pierce.
  3. Kerr talks about Boston with no help at the rim on Chalmers' layup. Chalmers had Pierce switched onto him and it's harder for Pierce to slither between screens than it is for Rondo. Pierce picked him up because Battier set a good screen forcing a switch. It's easier for Miami to execute their stuff with Battier. Of course, when Battier tries to make a play off the dribble it's a disaster but that's the tradeoff. It's also great for Boston that Barbosa, Lee, and when he gets comfortable, Terry can all run with Rondo, something they lacked in previous seasons. Also, huge layup for Bosh coming up big by beating KG in the post with a one-on-one move and layup.
  4. Miami's screen-the-screener horns offense doesn't work with their bench because Lewis is so soft on screens and never sets good ones. The little edges the Bosh/Haslem/Battier combos give Miami don't materialize with Lewis. KG is starting to make some plays to go with Rondo and Barbosa and we have a game. That and LeBron is out with cramps which helps.
  5. Chalmers overpenetrated and missed a wild shot, then he traveled. First bad mistakes he's made in the game. KG provided good help on a Wade drive and it let to a Rondo layup. He has to finish the game and play well for Boston to pull the comeback, but the Celtics have no rim protection when he's not in. Can they survive the season without another defensive big?
  6. Probably too late for this game, but the Celtics are finding out that Barbosa can really bail them out of scoring slumps but offense hasn't been a problem. Miami's scoring at will right now, especially with Lewis posting up like he's in Seattle, and shooting like he's in Orlando. Miami has so much offensive depth. Jason Terry has had a real poor game passing the ball and bad passes have led to Miami getting out in transition. He needs to be sharper. Finally, Allen has looked great. Not just shooting, he's beating people off the bounce and finishing terrifically. He looks like a star again.
  7. "Spo, what impressed you so much?" "How much Jeff Green sucked out there!"
  8. Probably not back full time lol, but I have no cable, I can't record this game, and there's not much to do with NYC shut down thanks to Sandy...plus I missed you guys!
  9. My goodness, a travel by Green, then with 3 on the shot clock he gets posted by Rashard Lewis...why did he even get off the bus...
  10. No rim protection on these screen/rolls with the Celtics spread out worrying about Mike Miller, Ray Allen, Rashard Lewis, and Mario Chalmers. That's a lineup that can spread a defense though if you can defend their screens well, few of those guys are dangerous off the dribble. Boston has KG on the bench though so it isn't like the Celtics have rim protection.
  11. Wade bit on a pump fake and has been real inconsistent in his focus. But he makes plays like that runner on Lee, plus that tip-in. Such a spectacular talent. Bosh has had problems in the post. Bass has played him well. I think he's missed both his pure post attempts on Bass.
  12. Wade forced a shot and jogged back. Call was iffy, but if he doesn't jog back, he's better able to stay in front of Pierce and not foul his shot.
  13. Lee fell asleep on the Wade cut, first real mistake he's made today.
  14. Green gets blocked...he's just not a difference maker at this level of competition. LeBron hedges a 1/4 screen real well to force the pass to Green. His defense took away the ball handler and there was no angle to find Pierce as the screener. LeBron gets rewarded with a huge dunk. Still, Boston is only down 8 on the road, things could be much worse.
  15. Whoever was guarding Chalmers on Miami's 1-4 high let LeBron cut right off that for a dunk. Need to sag and protect... Battier's had some problems guarding Boston's wings, but he's shit down Bass and Green for the most part. Plus when Miami goes small with him at the 4 and Boston runs a high screen for Pierce, Pierce is getting switched from LeBron to Battier. That's not much of an advantage gained and makes defense so much easier for Miami. Bass missed a rotation on LeBron's short fallaway but rotating is so hard to do when you have to guard shooters and not Joel Anthony.
  16. I love how Green posts Lewis, gets by him, and still has Lewis block his shot. My goodness Jeff Green. Boston gives a 2-screen look for Terry, Haslem can't hedge, Lewis poor help on the back side, Terry gets a plus-one. Later Terry just blitzes No-Cole for a foul. He's the fastest scorer Boston has had in awhile. The Celtics look much faster with him in the floor. Lewis doesn't just shoot, he posts up and draws a foul. Dwyane Wade has been gambling on defense and he let Pierce get by him by the Celtics missed a shot at the rim. He also missed a layup. Not exactly Wade's best performance this half. Allen hits a jumper of a runner. Not bad. I also LOVE how Boston is pushing the pace. They're getting easy points by playing faster which is helping them keep pace.
  17. Terry with two bad passes. Poor execution. Cole steps on endline on baseline drive. Poor awareness. Someone (KG?) set a great screen on a Terry S/R. It put Haslem on Terry and Terry just faked a drive and ended up with a wide, wide, nobody in the ball park open 20 footer. Good to see Boston execute that play so well to get 2 points. Norris Cole says [expletive] execution though and just hits a random three-pointer. If he can shoot a bit it just helps Miami's spacing that much more and sets up Miami's driving.
  18. Green got fouled there by Allen, and I guess its a mismatch, but he missed an extra-pass opportunity for an open jumper for somebody. Not the worst play and not a bad result, but he seems slow to recognize things. Rashard Lewis says thank god I'm not on the Wizrds, but then gets posted for 2 points. KG on Lewis is a mismatch Boston needs to win.
  19. Miami's spacing is so much better without Joel Anthony starting. So much space for cutters, so when Boston helps, Miami is getting nice open looks from downtown. Courtney Lee's playing real well. He's been solid on defense and he's making all his open shots off broken plays. Jeff Green iso'd Battier and missed an ugly runner, plus bricked a wide-open jumper. He's not giving Boston much. Sullinger and Pierce gave Boston some good offense in transition with their athleticism. Sullinger also defended a Pierce post up. I like all the corner curls Boston runs. Looks a lot like Miami's offense, and they're passing well off doubles.
  20. Trying to watch sports on illegal streams in a crappy apartment with the Cleveland announcing team calling the game is a total fail...
  21. nine right now...I want 20 for epicness!
  22. I need some guys for a deep league I'm commishing. It's pretty casual (you GAIN points when your QB throws a pick-six!), but the draft is tonight (10 EST) and I have an odd number of teams. If anybody is interested, it's a yahoo league, ID number 255357, pass RickReed
