  1. Sometimes you could barely see his lips moving. I just wanted a little extra emotion, nothing overly exaggerated or anything.
  2. And just think about what he could have done if he didn't lose about 5 total seasons due retirements/injury (his 2nd season he missed like 70 games I believe due to a broken ankle or something).
  3. Yeah he's shooting an AWFUL 40% on non-jumpers this season, and he gets 20% of those attempts blocked. He got in the NBA off his last name. He'll be out of the league by the time his rookie contract runs out.
  4. Great song, though he needs to show a little more emotion in the video. Always been the most talented in OF, though (besides Frank Ocean, who I really don't consider a part of the group).
  5. Kareem's definitely in reach for Kobe. MJ was averaging over 20PPG at 40, and Kobe's style allows him to do the same. Anyway, this is an incredible accomplishment of longevity.
  6. Nuggets, Lakers, Spurs...those are original though, and not named off an animal like so many [expletive]ing teams. And not only that, but it's not a very intimidating animal, and it just rolls off the tonge so badly.
  7. I'm not too familiar with the case, but if Trayvon left and Zimmerman followed him, then that's still an indictment of Zimmerman. I could understand if it was a spur of the moment thing where he already had the gun on him and was still in the process of being attacked, but if the beatdown happened already and Zimmerman went out of his way to shoot him, it's still an unjustified murder. That's what the police are for.
  8. Issue? Absolutely. But the age, injuries, coaching (if Dwight's struggling in the 4th with his free throws and they are hacking him, he needs to be removed) and lack of depth and wings are much bigger issues.
  9. Let's see you be a 38 year old PG with a fractured fibula and come back within a month.
  10. I like the court design...reminds me of the Warriors around the time they beat the Mavs in the playoffs. Still a terrible name, though.
  11. Hmmm... When has Bargs ever proven he can be a decent second option? When he was the 2nd option to one of the best PF's in the league on a team that either didn't make the playoffs or barely got in? With his awful rebounding, defense and streaky shooting, I've always seen him as a good 6th man or 4th option on a serious playoff team, NEVER a 2nd option. Anyway, this comparison reminds me of one a week ago where they showed the numbers of Joe Johnson and Kyle Korver this season, and solely based on statistics you would choose Korver.
  12. Good lord that is just awful...even worse than the Bobcats (who I hope to god go back to Hornets and bring back the old jersey's).
  13. Only caught the 4th, but it was very entertaining. Durant had a ton of calls going for him, while Humphries got completely hammered on that dunk attempt with no call, but I'm proud of the effort. Joe Johnson finally looked like the closer and legit 2nd option at the end of the game, but it wasn't enough.

  15. I'm not bothering to try and find each player, but statistically I'd probably take the 2nd guy due to his rebounding. However, blindly looking at stats without some context (team, position, role, etc...) makes comparisons nearly impossible.
  16. Here's my take... OKC is a win-now team. They need to get rid of the pick, and the only teams that will give you win-now pieces for that pick are bottom-feeders that are rebuilding. Now, centers are the most valuable talent in the NBA because of their rarity, and a mid-lottery draft pick alone probably won't get you what you need there, especially if you are trying to package a Kendrick Perkins contract along with him. Ok, so what is an OKC weakness that could be sorted out with this pick? 2 years ago, when Harden was still on the come-up but struggling to get minutes in tight situations, they lacked a 3rd playmaker. I feel they are back to that situation, which is why Durant is forcing the playmaking thing this year, especially with Maynor struggling. It has manifested itself in them leading the turnovers as well. Luckily, PG is one of the 2 most stacked positions in the league (next to PF). So, that brings us to the league's bottom-feeders...the two that have legit PG's are Phoenix (Dragic), and ironically, Toronto. We know that Toronto will not give up Lowry, however Calderon's playmaking and shooting ability could be a HUGE asset for OKC. Much like how Kevin Martin has been put in that situation and is having a sensational yet as the 3rd wheel, I feel Calderon could shine as a key piece off that bench with all that talent surrounding him. As for the Phoenix thing, I feel Dragic would be an amazing 6th man on the Thunder, and is probably attainable. Also, that pick and some kind of sweetener could land Marcin Gortat, who is a little lesser-known than Varejao, and might be easier to get. Lastly, OKC could always go for another PF with that pick as trade bait. Like I said, it's probably the most stacked position in the NBA, and with Durant/Ibaka you don't need a traditional centers because they are very good rebounders and Ibaka is the kind of rim protector you expect out of a center. Perkins is not a very good rebounder, anyway, and not a threat offensively, so getting a PF who could give you even more of both would make OKC considerably more dangerous and explosive. Miami layed out the blueprint with that kind of lineup, and OKC is probably the only other team who is talented and versatile enough to succeed with it as well.

  18. As you said, it was a wide open 10ft shot...why drive it into a crowd in that situation? Throughout his career, especially his 2nd/3rd season he made a living off midrange shots. Eventually he got addicted to the long 2 which has hurt him the last few years, but it's still a shot he needs to take. Anyway, the game ended how I expected. LeBron finally decided to turn it on and wrapped things up.
  19. That's something that wouldn't change even with his athleticism. He's missing a lot of shots that he normally makes. He's just not comfortable out there. Even on his post-ups, which he is usually excellent at, it's just been awkward. He had off-season surgery and got that issue with the foot now. They should consider shutting him down for a few weeks to get healthy.
  20. Lol Spo was as pissed as I've ever seen him in that interview. He has a right to be...Miami's effort has been a disgrace tonight. They are playing like this a walkthrough practice 70 games into the season. Wade looks so awkward out there -_- I know he'll pick it up at some point this season, but it's really sad the way he's been playing.
  21. Bingo. Ultimately, all 82 games in the regular season have equal value, so there really isn't any difference between this and top seeds sitting their best players at the end of the season. But, because this is on TNT and against Miami, it is an issue. I don't blame Pop, though, since their next game is against Memphis, who is a serious threat in that division.
  22. What's more important is the rotations. It worked with, say, Harden in OKC because he gave the bench the ballhandler, playmaker and scorer they needed, which wasn't needed as much with the starting group. Every minute in the NBA is really equal in importance, although everything is amplified in the final minutes because as defenses tighten up, different holes on your team can be exposed. If Amare doesn't fit with Tyson at C in the first few minutes, it will be the same effect in the last few minutes. The idea of bringing him off the bench should be to accomidate the fact that he is most effective having the big athletic advantage over the average C, much like how Melo has against the average PF.
  23. Supposedly the Spurs are resting Duncan, Parker, Manu and Green tonight. Typical Pop.
  24. His defense has absolutely been elite. Nearly 3 blocks a game, has the 5th best Drtg in the league (and is the ONLY member of LA in the top 20...pretty much everyone else in the top 20 has a teammate in the top 20, because their team's Drtg is so low), top 10 in rebounds, and he LEADS the league is Dws. I agree his FT shooting is an issue in the 4th, but the same could be said for Shaq. That is why you have guys like Kobe, Pau and Nash. To me his biggest problem this season has been the turnovers, and simply not getting enough post attempts.
  25. Stats, that's what it is. Check out other star perimeter players who don't always take the best assignment...Wade, Westbrook, Pierce, Joe Johnson, etc... Their numbers don't touch what Kobe is doing. And FYI, per 100 possessions the Lakers are 14 points worse defensively when Kobe is off the court as opposed to being on the court. That is a big difference that is NOT a coincidence. And anyone who has watched Kobe play this season can see he has played tremendous defense. More than half his All-Defense 1st teams have been COMPLETE bullshit, but this season he's played damn good on that end of the floor. Stackhouse, at his best, shot a shade under 41% from the field, with a TS% of .520. He had an Ortg of 104 which is pretty [expletive]ing bad considering his production. His efficiency was below league average, which isn't good for a volume scorer. He had a PER of 21.8, his only season over 20. So far this season Kobe is shooting over 50% from the field, with a TS% over .630, which means he is scoring more on better efficiency than LeBron, Durant, Harden, and the other top scorers in the league. He has an Ortg of 118, and a PER over 26. So once again, comparing him to Stackhouse is ridiculous. Once again, those guys, besides Ariza, are out of the league now, and not because of old age (except Fisher). They may have been favorites, but that's largely because of Kobe, who was the best player in essentially every series during those 2 runs. He averaged 30/5/5 both of those championship runs on very solid efficiency. Those are HoF numbers. Jordan didn't win shit until he had an elite team around him. Hakeem was stuck with shit teams and didn't win anything until he got a respectable supporting cast around him. Shaq had a HoF wing each of his 4 championships (though in 2000 Kobe wasn't really a superstar yet). KG DIDN'T EVEN MAKE THE PLAYOFFS for 4 straight years during his prime, and got out of the 1st round just once his first 13 seasons. It wasn't until he had Pierce and Allen did he get over the hump. Kobe is an ELITE HoF player. Dwight will be a HoF player and when he's on he is a top 5 player in the league today. You don't need the best player in the league to win a championship. If that was the case, LeBron would have about 4 championships now. I never said he needs to have single digit points and assists. But 15/8 on 50/40/90 shooting will be more than enough considering they got 3 other players capable of scoring over 25 points on any given night.
